Gym opening times
The website is advertised as a 24 hour gym. I’ve turned up to the gym at 6 and it’s not open till 6:30. False advertisement and very disappointing.

This gym is not advertised as 24 hours on the gyms web page - https://www.puregym.com/gyms/sutton-coldfield/.
The hours are as follows: Monday - Friday - 6.30am - 10pm and Saturday - Sunday - 8am - 10pm.

Sutton Coldfield gym us a friendly and inclusive gym. There is something for everyone. The staff are amazing and there are so many classes to choose from. It is an amazing place to train with a fantastic atmosphere! I love it!

Great gym
Great gym, great price. Classes are excellent. Good range from zumba to circuits to yoga. Staff are all friendly and welcoming no matter your fitness level. Only negative is car park, flooding issue and poor lighting in car park. That’s the only reason it’s less 1 star

The zumba I would say is my personal…
The zumba I would say is my personal favourite its up bouncy full with energy really good music flashing lights making it feel like a party and you just go with it. Teachers full of energy to and shows us new dances so it's not always the same.

Crowded, hard to train on the machine you want
Crowded, Lack of machines and need to queue for a long time to get a chance to train on a machine, it’s more like aerobic exercises gym, hard to become body builder. It’s more good for ladies.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website, to see how many people are in the gym.

The gym is an absolute mess
The gym is an absolute mess! Filthy gym , the machines look like they never get wiped down as every time I use a machine they are full of dust and grime. The floor around the machines looks like it never gets a hoover let alone a mop. My treadmill and step mill is always full of rubbish full of old paper towel and wrappers. One of the treadmills (the one on the left )stops working if you put the speed up high. The dumbbell area is very dirty, underneath each dumbbell is full of bits and dirt! I've seen other gyms use a steam cleaner on the dumbbell area or maybe just a wipe down would be ok. Not enough machines for the volume of members. Having one seated leg extension and one hamstring curl isn't good enough. The gym needs more cables as they are very busy and there isn't enough to go round. Likewise having just one pec Dec machine is ridiculous considering how busy the gym gets , need at least 2_3 of them. Since I joined I've noticed a very bad smell near the handwash sink in the men's toilet, this smell is always there not sure if it's a blockage or something. I only use this gym as it's 2 mins from my daughter's school and is handy after school run otherwise i wouldn't train there. Before pure gym I trained at the gym group on Kingsbury road and they are head and shoulders above pure gym in terms of cleanliness.

Get the maintainance people in!
What is going on? The car park has a lake in the middle of it because you can't be bothered to get the drains fixed. No lights in the car park and the upper floor of the gym had some lights out. Then treadmills, stairmasters and other kit has been turned off at the mains WHY? This is very poor and it feels like you've just abandoned your maintainance regime which always used to be good.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. I love it there but the free weights…

Manager not listening to member…
Manager not listening to member requests in terms of class timetables, signing in register for classes is hit and miss sometimes being told we need to sign other times no need to as classes aren't full. Car park needs resurfacing

Showers always out of action so often can't use them as the ones that work aren't free.
changing room very small and smells horrible
Often rubbish in the gym and equipment out of order.
