One complaint but everything else is great
Gym users have changed over the last 50 or so years. Previously, when using an item or apparatus, when resting between sets, the user would get off the machine/bench to allow others to use it. Today, users are not as disciplined anymore.
Further, the gym was closed on 24 until the 26th December 2024. I joined this gym because of the offer of 24/7 access. Am I going to get an extra 2 days added to my membership? If I wanted to drive 15 miles to Chester or Oswestry to use a gym, I would of joined one there.
Apart from that it is okay

We chose to give all our staff time off over the festive period to spend with their families, which does include the back-office members, meaning our gyms were required to close for a short period.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure period, and thank you for your understanding in allowing our teams a well-earned break over this period.

Pure Gym...Pure Pleasure
The classes Sue Knight takes are brilliant. Sam Jones' personal trainer is wonderful, I'm 72 and he understands exactly what I can and can't do without judgement. The premises are very clean and most welcoming. I have introduced lots of girls to the gym who love it as much as I do.

Plenty of classes
Plenty of classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable and good at what they do. They will always tell us if we are doing something wrong and show us the correct move. They are always happy to help or just have a chat with us. The equipment is well maintained. Everywhere is spotless which is a credit to the cleaning staff.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the refurb
Loved the gym before the refurb but it was well overdue an upgrade. Cannot fault it now, amazing new equipment, great use of space and the same lovely staff. Looking forward to the spin classes starting up again on the sparkly new spin bikes :-)

Should have been given an option to …
Should have been given an option to cancel or freeze whilst refurb was going on.
No machines, no atmosphere, no music, just workmen loitering around.
Shame really as it was ok before but I've now moved elsewhere

We collect payments from members who are on a monthly direct debit membership on their chosen date of deduction. A freeze must be applied 4 working days before the next payment is due, to ensure that the membership is frozen for the correct period of time, and payment is not taken. I’m actually appalled by the equipment…
I’m actually appalled by the equipment at the Wrexham pure gym as I have been there many times but my first time on the bicep curl machine by the treadmills I was doing sets with my stepbrother and all of a sudden I jigged and the whole machine where you put your hands moved and has now injured my Shoulder where I now have to miss my driving lesson and a trip to A&E! This is a warning to all young ones who start please be careful of that bicep machine.

Staff are helpful and want to help
Staff are helpful and want to help. The whole area is kept as neat and as tidy as is possible for a twenty four seven operation. Parking and access is easy. Lots of different equipment available.

Wrexham pure is just a joke
Wrexham pure is just a joke.
There is alot of underage kids (wearing SCHOOL Uniforms) pissing about, not going anything besides taking up the space. Manager walks around sees all this going on and doesn’t say anything.

All members will need to be 16 years old or above to apply for a membership. Staff on site as well as our CCTV team will request ID if they do believe members are underage and breaking these gym rules.

Good friendly staff willing to take their time to help you out. Plenty of equipment so no need to wait around for machines.

As an online company, we don't have receptions. However, we have the cylinder POD doors that act as both an entrance and security system.
The POD doors monitor entrance with individual 8 digit code.
If individuals are using their own PureGym pin to let in others this will be picked up on by staff as well as our CCTV team. Action following this will be taken accordingly. Thanks, PureGym

Clean, staff are really friendly, nice gym to go to and good they have student discount through unidays!

Dirty and dodgy
Gym is dirty and the equipment quality is bad and could cause injury.

The machines are not well maintained
The machines are not well maintained. All cables are rough. The gym flooring is too springy and makes it dangerous when using heavier weights

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.
