Trending experiences, perfect to gift. At RedBalloon we believe that experiences are better than things. Because while things can age, experiences have a way of getting even better over time. Experiences connect us. They expand our minds and help us grow. Experiences are the memories we find ourselves repeating to our friends for years on end. The best part about experiences is that they don’t just live in our minds. They live in our hearts too. For good. Imagine being about to give that to someone. A gift that offers someone a new perspective on the world, like gliding gracefully through a sunrise in a hot air balloon. Or the gift of a Lamborghini ride that makes hearts race and forces people to remember that life is about feeling. Our curated experiences are the gifts that last forever. So next time you’re stuck looking for a gift, there’s a new and memorable experience for every occasion at RedBalloon.

Receiving a Red Balloon gift voucher for a specific venue/event is a lovely idea, if all goes well with the whole process!
I received a Meat & Wine voucher for set menu lunch for 2, which I have been given before, so was delighted as it was very enjoyable.
However, this voucher was for Meat &Wine South Yarra, Melbourne, not M&W South Bank Melbourne, where we have been on a few occasions before (Red Balloon voucher & own bookings). When I redeemed this voucher I did not realise it was for the South Yarra venue until just before the booking.
I called South Yarra M&W to ask if they were able to move the booking as we were unable to get there being just prior to the booking time, they advised it had to be handled by Red Balloon. Called RB who advised they could move the booking ( phone call) I advised them that M&W South Yarra were okay with that and M&W South Bank could accommodate us, however RB said they needed to confirm this. I accepted that, but was then advised that as the voucher value had increased in price from when it was purchased (Dec 2025) to date of booking (3/5/26) I would be required to pay the difference.
I was not thrilled about that, I have been given gift vouchers previously and have never had to pay a difference between the purchase price and the value when it was utilised.
This did not bide well with me, particularly after dealing with the issues of the location, to then have to pay extra money for what was a gift!
Meat & Wine is a great restaurant and this scenario in no way reflects on them.
I feel that Red Balloon need to review this practice as I would certainly not be using them in future if this is how they operate.
The person that gave me the Red Balloon gift voucher was mortified that I had to pay extra for a gift she had given me, just because she had inadvertently selected South Yarra not South Bank, where we generally go.
Red Balloon, I’m sure you can do better, the concept is good, just needs a little leeway in case of human error!
