Lacquered red and cream chess pieces begin flaking off almost immediately, not impressed given the cost
Goods generally are high end prices not over expensive though, in my opinion
Delivery lead times very good

Chess Set purchased for birthday gift
I bought this for my son’s birthday as he wanted something to keep. It was so simple to order and I had it sent directly to his address in London. We were pleasantly surprised that it actually arrived within a couple of days. He was thrilled to bits with it and says it is really good quality, beautifully carved pieces and the best present he had ! Would definitely recommend the product and the excellent service. I purchase the small Isle of Lewis set for my sons birthday and it was perfect . Not only is it beautifully made with the chess pieces stored under the chess board lid but it looks lovely as an ornament on his table when not in use. He absolutely loves it. It was really well packed and delivery was excellent. Well worth the money

Outstanding Service
Email questions about a chess board seen on The Regency Chess Company website were sent about 1000 on a Friday forenoon, an answer was received before 1200, an order was placed shortly after 1200 and the chess board was received in robust packaging just after 1200 on the following day (Saturday). It is very difficult to see how this level of service could be beaten. The quality of the board matched the service and the board was certainly good value for money when compared to similar boards on other websites.
My thanks to Paula and Regency for extremely prompt, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service which was rounded off with updates to confirm progress with despatch of the board.
This standard has been so different to that experienced with two other retailers of chess sets, boards and paraphernalia who totally failed to provide what was ordered after 5 months of attempting to get straight, truthful answers and a confirmed delivery date. If you want good quality and service without problems go straight to Regency. I will be using them for any future needs.
