I traded in two instruments for the one I wanted. They gave me a very fair price and the actual transaction was very smooth and easy.

They sold me a stratocaster that was very badly adjusted - the string action was super high, there was a persistent fret buzz and many of the notes higher up the neck were totally muted. Rather than offering to fix the problem they charged me to return the item. I wouldn't trust this shop again.

I recently traded in some second hand gear against a Tokai guitar. The process from start to finish was seamless. I sent pics and descriptions of my gear, and Mark at Rich Tone replied within 24 hours with completely fair and reasonable offers. No low-balling, just fair margins so I can shift my stuff and they can sell it. He even estimated what they might sell it on for. I couldn’t get to the shop, so Mark arranged a courier, and I was paid within a day of my gear being received.

The Tokai I bought was spotless, and had been really well set up. All in all a great experience, and it’s encouraging to know there’s still music shops doing things the right way, especially in the current climate. Would definitely recommend and use again.

My first purchase from this store was probably about 10 years ago. It was a secondhand MusicMan valve combo in superb condition for an old amp. I had to collect it myself and managed to fall foul of a Bus Lane camera in the city centre :-(
Recently, I have bought a few more items online for home delivery, a couple of Celestion 16 ohm speakers, A Boss Katana Mk2 Head and a G&L Tribute Series ASAT Deluxe guitar. All items were in superb used condition and were delivered promptly by Fed Ex. The G&L guitar was just amazing, described as having "light scratches" on the body, but I couldn't see any! The strings looked like brand new D'Addario and the overall condition was superb for a used guitar. This sensibly priced guitar will be my main gigging guitar.

Never pick the phone up!

Ordered a piece of vintage gear and there was a small issue - the company arranged to take it back, sort it, and send back to me. I always think it's how a company deals with problems that tells you what they're really like and I have been very impressed.

Absolutely brilliant service from Rich Tone Music. I bought a Roland drum kit and, although it was used, it’s in mint condition - literally like new. The packaging was first-class, with plenty of protection to ensure the drums couldn’t be damaged in transit. I’m absolutely delighted and highly recommend them.

First Guitar purchase from Rich Tone, and what a totally excellent experience. Found a secondhand guitar at a great price and having not used them in the past was apprehensive. used all the other usual suppliers in the past and generally have been good.
Glad I've found these guys first class service and more importantly the guitar was better than expected in like new condition. FedEx managed to trash the outer box and was very worried prior to opening, but need not have been as it was double boxed thanks guys that saved the guitar from damage. Your website now added to my favourites list, shall keep an eye on your stock. Considering the 'Sell your Gear' service next.

Just an incredibly positive experience two times in a row. In both cases, From talking to friendly staff on the phone to the overnight shipping. They were great, so helpful. I'm looking forward actually to visiting the store after experiencing such a good online vibe.

I dropped into the shop (which was a great experience in itself) and then ordered online.
The guitar was exactly as described, very well packed, and arrived next day for just £10 delivery.

Unable to ship to Northern Ireland, I find this utterly unacceptable. It's nothing but laziness on the owners behalf. Was happy to pay extra for shipping but couldn't be bothered to even look at it.

My last few purchases have been with Guitarguitar and Anderton, both of whom are spot on. Saw a PRS Tonare P20E on Rich Tone site, and did a nice trade in. All aspects excellent, I have a new supplier! delivery,packing,dealing,information and not least a superb used guitar in mint condition. Rich Tone are on my watchlist. Its hard to find online places to trust,especially with guitars, and I prefer those with real shops where experienced folk know what they are doing. I recommend Rich Tone Sheffield/Online without reservation.

Purchased a secondhand Ibanez sr 1600b from richtone music, for a great saving over the new price, in almost mint condition, with the original factory battery still fitted and functional, little to zero use. It did require a slight filing of the nut at the e string, but not much.

I sold a custom-built guitar to these guys. I was happy with the price they offered. They were extremely helpful with support through the process of shipping, which I paid for but was surprisingly cheap. Once they had assessed the guitar, payment was very rapid. I will certainly use Rich Tone music for any future transactions.
