Have been visiting Rich Tone for 15 or more years. Bought 4 guitars, plus loads of other equipment- strings, amps, pedals etc. I have always found the same high level of friendly helpful (and very expert) help and advice, whether spending £10 or a £1000.
Recently sold a couple back and was pleasantly surprised by the very fair and honest valuations . Would not hesitate to recommend 100per cent.

Bought an EVH Wolfgang from Rich Tone and sold them a Tele and various bits and bobs. Great email communication the whole time, and an easy sales process where they offered me a price for my kit, even using the packaging from my purchase to send them my guitar. No hassle, everything was delivered and collected quickly with constant communication. I live miles away from their store but will happily use them again.

I bought a SH Fender Jazz Performer from RTM about 18 months ago, but never really warmed to it and traded it in for a SH Ultra P- bass, also from RTM.
Both were second hand’ ex demo’ / Fender mail order returns in near mint condition at about 30% off list price. They gave me about 2/3rds of what I paid for the Jazz as a trade in, less than I could have got on eBay (maybe) but which seemed reasonable for the convenience and they have their overheads to cover. Both times I went to the store and the staff were great.

I was surprised then to see so many poor reviews, so I had to read them! Folks complaining about the phone not being answered should know that while I was there the phones rang constantly, but the staff were all dealing with in-store customers, which is as it should be, but maybe they could use a separate call centre?

The website does tend to show stuff that’s been sold, but I find that useful as you can see what’s been around and it’s simple enough to hide sold items by clicking the ‘show in stock’ button. Lots of other guitar sites do this, so it hardly warrants a 1 star review.

Buying used is always a risk, best to go and see it and processing a refund often takes 2 weeks and it isn’t the merchants fault - just trying returning something to Sports Direct if you want to see slow refunds. Again doesnt really warrant 1 star.

The stores really good and they let you try stuff out, so IMHO it’s well worth the drive.

It must be the best guitar shop in th UK. I’ve been there many ,many times and have always been impressed by the staff. They are friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve bought quite a few used guitars from Richtone and traded in quite a few too. Highly recommend place to visit and browse.

Over many months I have sold unwanted guitars and equipment to Rich Tone Music. The process was straightforward and without any stress. I received a fair price for the goods and the money was in my account within a few hours. I go into Rich Tone Music fairly regularly and I find all of the staff polite and professional. I’ve bought from Rich Tone occasionally and sold to them many times and always found them to be exceptionally good. They make selling to them particularly straightforward and for that reason I’ve stopped selling guitars by any other means. Tried many others, but recently I’ve been using Rich Tone exclusively (and I live 180 miles away).
