I would rate the bank zero if this were…

I would rate the bank zero if this were possible. I have been a customer of the bank for years. I have been trying to contact them for the last two days, so that they can answer a straightforward query about my account. I rang yesterday and held for 20 minutes before giving up. I then rang again today and held for 1 hour 45 minutes before again giving up. Clearly they have no interest in their customers.

F* thieves they are. Depression... No we don't cover... Losing job because employer relocates... Ohh no your sick... We don't cover....

I think that Santander is in free fall…

I think that Santander is in free fall now. They have ' algorithms' which prevent me from paying ordinary bills like payruns from usual Mac addresses and normal amounts. The account is then blocked for hours. Attempts to ring the number that you have to use to unblock the account takes approx. 1 hour more of life wasted. As you can see Santander are not even bothering to reply to complaints on Trust Pilot

I closed my credit card around a year…

I closed my credit card around a year ago and got refunded by an insurance company to my credit card ( as they have to refund the original card the payment was made from). I was told by the bank that the refund would be rejected because they don’t have an holding account. The insurance company said the refund was accepted by the bank. Since then the nightmare began. I have called customer services on several occasions with long waits, being cut off and then asked security questions relevant from an acct over a year ago. I have provided details only I would know from my statement. I currently have my mortgage with Santander and will be looking to move this due to their appalling customer services. The chat service has been ok but I just get fobbed off there too. Julie H head of frauds and disputes either provide a direct number to your department or please look at your processes. I will be sharing my experience everywhere. You should have never accepted the refund to a closed account and I wouldn’t be here! I never knew a bank could be so desperate to hold onto someone money. Please if you ever hold a credit card with this bank beware!!!! The banks are helping people through a pandemic and we have Santander doing the complete opposite holding onto money which is mine! If it makes you richer Santander! Hopefully when I share my experience around the net, people will think twice about trusting and choosing a bank like yours! A bank that makes hurdles to access your own money!

do not deal with this bank

do not deal with this bank. they do not work with you whatsoever if you run into a problem. they harass you constantly via phone, text , email if you miss a payment. and they threaten your credit score. i am going to have a serious talk with the car dealership and advise them of how they treat people. if anyone suggests this company to you say NO THANKS

Unprofessional case handling

Unprofessional case handling, I want to repay three years in advance. I get three different bills in one day
They are not connected to other banks as it seems it takes 5 days from payment until they react, adding fees here and there which is not reflected in contact ... Don't get loan from them its a trap.

Desperate 70 year old needs help

I have a payment to Amazon prime going out trying to cancel with Amazon impossible??? So I wrote to Santander to cancel this service .NO JOY THEY KEEP PAYING THIS OUT ITS MY MONEY I WANT IT STOPPED I CAN NOT AFFORD THIS .
they won't it's my money please please please won't you listen to me I'm 70 years old your taking my money I don't want this service anymore why won't you listen.......... Anyone out there please listen and do something this man is desperate ?????????

Unhelpful Staff

Tried to open a basic bank account today at the Dunfermline branch
I was told by an unpleasant and unhelpful teller I could not speak to anyone until the end of November. [ 3 weeks away.] and to do it online.
I find this quite astonishing. Went to HBOS along the street and opened it instantly.

Disgusting

When you call them you have to wait on the phone for ages to get through all the nonsense. They say they're experiencing a high volume of calls and you should only call for emergencies. Err, no. I'm a customer, you're holding and using MY MONEY, you should hire more staff and make yourselves available. Don't offer a service if you're not willing to meet your customers needs. People NEED to be able to contact their bank quickly to deal with issues, and if you can't offer that as a bank, you shouldn't be holding people's money in the first place. Coronavirus is not an excuse.
