Scan Guard should be avoided like the plague. They say that one year ago, on Jan14,2024, I paid them $19.00 for a downloaded security program. Then on Jan 24, 2025, it renewed for $119.00 which was charged to my PayPal account. I contacted PayPal and they said they couldn't help me and wouldn't do anything. Today I was able to talk to a live person at Scan Guard, after a 12 minute long wait. They said they would refund my $119.00, which I'll believe once the credit actually shows up on my PayPal account. The Scan Guard web site advertises a "Free Download," and I think what happened last year was that I didn't spend enough time reading all the fine print in the Scan Guard free download and after a couple days the Freebie turned into a $19.00 charge along with an annual automatic renewal. Lesson here is to remember that Nothing is really FREE, and to spend the time reading ALL the fine print. Again, AVOID Scan Guard like the plague, and if you need security software for your computer, research and buy something from reputable companies with several years of good customer support.

charged me without knowing
paid a one time purchase of £2.99 and then a month later they take £12.99 without me knowing. i don’t have a subscription or anything!

I cannot stop my subscription of Scanguard on my dashboard. On their website none of the buttons help me to stop the subscription. Please help.

WARNING!
Warning! This is what happened to me. Eventually managed to cancel auto renewal. Rec'd confirmation via email. All's well, surely? Read some reviews warning that Scanguard would wait a while after expiry then take money out of my card. As you can't stop this I had to cancel my card. Sure enough, about 3 weeks after expiry got a notification from Scanguard that my card payment had failed. Ask yourself: if you've cancelled, got that confirmation, why would Scanguard attempt to take money for something that you've not had? Maybe it's FRAUD! You've been warned.
