Thought my knives where "dead". They came back far sharper than the day I bought them! I recommend this service (5/5)

Wow! It’s rare to find a company that actually does what they say they will do but I found it with Sharpenters! I sent them $1000 worth of knives so I was worried at first but they set my mind at ease from the beginning. It was easy to order online, I received an email the next day letting me know my envelope was on the way and it was at my home in 3 days. The instructions were very easy to follow and after sending my knives in (I upgraded to the UPS option) they were back to me in 6 days…SHARPER THEN EVER!!
You will not be disappointed. I can see why they have so many happy customers on Google/Facebook/Instagram. Thank you Sharpenters!!!!
I came here to talk about my positive experience, and was surprised to see all these negative reviews because I’ve never dealt with a more accommodating and customer centered business. I sent 10 older dull knives that I was thinking of replacing but thought I’d give it a shot before investing in a new set, and I’m happy I did, they were returned to me in such great shape and am so pleased I didn’t have to get a new set. The process was simple and smooth and highly recommend this company to handle your knives with expertise and efficiency.
DO NOT TRUST this company with your knives. They lost 4!! chef’s knives of mine, blamed the post office, told me I deserve (sic) to be reimbursed for my loss and completely disappeared!!!! This has been going on for almost 2 month!! Bunch of irresponsible losers. And not the cheapest around the block either.
PS. It’s end of August. My knives missing for 3 months now. And Post Office officially denied Sharpers claim. And company refuses to reimburse me for the lost/stolen items?!? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?
I recently engaged the services of Sharpenters, an online knife sharpening service based in Naples, Florida. I purchased a one-time promotional offer for sharpening seven knives every six months at a standard rate of $76.93, with an initial promotional rate of $57.70. According to the representations made on their website, Sharpenters provides all necessary packaging, postage, and insurance to and from their facility. I tendered the package to the post office and received a tracking receipt as evidence of shipment. However, several days after my shipment, on May 27, 2023, I received electronic correspondence from Sharpenters indicating that the package had arrived damaged, containing only six knives instead of the expected seven. Sharpenters said they would initiate a claim with the post office on my behalf. After waiting patiently until the latter part of June, I inquired about the status of my claim. I was informed that the Post Office denied it, and Sharpenters did not provide supporting evidence of the denial. I then emailed and asked about the guarantee on their website that all packages were insured during shipment. I received no response.
Furthermore, despite receiving only six knives, Sharpenters charged me for sharpening seven knives. The replacement cost of the lost knife was approximately $68 on Amazon. Despite paying for postage and insurance to and from their facility, Sharpenters refused to reimburse me for my loss. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service due to the company’s lack of integrity and poor communication.

I tried there service and the 5 knives came back "sharpened" but not very good and lasted for maybe 10 days. Without my knowledge they billed be for a second sharpening at a much higher price, which I disputed. They never answered me and I had to refute the charge on my credit card as we did not order or send our knives a 2nd time. They say I didn't read or understand their terms of service, which I did not agree to. This company is a sham and I would not recommend their quality of service or their business ethics. Shame on me for not checking these reviews before. Shame on you if you use this disreputable company.
They get 2-stars because the process is pretty efficient - if you don't mind 10-12 day turnarounds. Otherwise, the service is lame. All their 5-star reviews must be from people who have never really used a super sharp knife. 3 of the 4 knives I sent came back duller than when I sent them in. Never again. I'm going to stick to using a local service. How to know where you can find a good one near you? Ask your favorite restaurant manager where they get their knives sharpened.
Complete garbage. They are not knife smiths but an industrial grinding operation. They use belt grinders to put on an unpolished, rough edge that might last a week. If you send them a knife 3 times they will have removed so much material that your 8 inch chef's knife will be a paring knife.
Highly recommend! I bought the yearly plan from Sharpenters for 10 of my everyday knives and they came back better than new. You won’t be disappointed. And, btw, I had them back 6 days from when they left my kitchen.
I could give them a negative star I would. I have had a terrible experience from the start and I was told I put the address in wrong. Their system doesnt allow you to send these as gifts basically. I have ordered 3 packages since May and 2 of my sets went to the wrong address. Luckily one was local and I fixed it... But one set of knives I sent from Bonita, FL was delivered to someone I sent a gift to (in Massachusetts) a few months back and they thought this was a second part of their gift! SHARPENTERS doesn't care to rectify the situation... And continues to blame me. Even though the address affiliated with my order is a Florida address not Massachusetts. Their system doesn't work that way, but they aren't accepting any responsibility. I asked about their 100% customer satisfaction guarantee on their website and they said, it's doesn't cover this situation. So, it's actually a LIMITED satisfaction guarantee. All I asked was for a refund, because now I have to guy buy 5 new knives for my friend this gift was for.
I asked multiple times for a phone number to call or for someone to call me. They refused and will only email. That's nice though, bc my CC company has proof for their refund.
In response!!!
I won't accept the "free" postage as my mother has already used the knives and thinks they were a gift. I have stated this to you multiple times. I am not about to tell her they aren't, she says she loves them. All I asked for was a refund. As I have already had to purchase new knives for my boyfriend. Your company has plenty of crap reviews about your customer service and you are proving it as we continue this. All you had to do was refund $79 and you would have had a customer for life. Sad that you were willing to lose a customer over that minus the postage, what $50? I already had 3 subscriptions with you this year, now cancelled.
