Impossible to Cancel – Still Being Charged £25 Monthly
joined this platform hoping to find a side hustle opportunity, but it’s been very confusing to use, and I couldn’t figure out how to get started.
When I decided to cancel my membership, I discovered there’s no clear way to contact customer service — no phone number or email that actually works. I’ve tried several times to reach the support team with no success, yet they continue to charge £25 every month.
I’m writing this review in the hope that someone from the company will see it and help me cancel my membership immediately. I’m not using the service and haven’t sold anything at all. This has been a very frustrating experience, and I would advise anyone thinking of joining to be cautious until the cancellation process is made clearer and more responsive.
Worst company
Same as other reviews, they terminated my store and kept around $3,000 in refunds for three months. I contacted them ten times but never received a clear answer. So far, I haven’t gotten my money back, and customer support keeps repeating the same response: "We are working on it." This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Spotify is just a middleman to loot money from people and earn profit. They will not take any responsibility once you pay for goods. I made a big mistake and lost money. Genuinely, Stay Clear!!
If i could give 0 stars i would. Wish i done my research before moving my online store here. They decided to be amazing and help me migrate my store away from squarespace. They let me sell 3 products and then closed my store. The asked for proof of where i purchased my items for and i sent them receipts for legitimate wholesaler purchases from good reputable companies. They then stopped my payouts from arriving in my account. I have had a case on escalation for over 5 weeks with 0 responses on what is going on. The support chat has given me the same responses 5 weeks in a row “we have esacalated your to a different team and you’ll receieve and update shortly”. They have now been holding £500 of the businesses money for 5 weeks and the product has been shipped and received. As this is a small start up business this has massively impacted growth. Please stay away from shopify unless you want 0 communication and money withheld from you.

Do not use. Same issue as many others that purchased from a fake Chinese company pretending to be Primetools and goods never received. Shopify customer support is useless.
DREADFUL IN THE EXTREME
Absolutely dreadful. I wish I'd never created a Shopify store now. I've been trading a month and my life has been consumed with solving problems. Every time I solve one, it creates more problems. And that's when Shopify tells me to dish out more money for an app. If you are thinking of opening an e-commerce store, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE. DO NOT. I REPEAT, DO NOT USE SHOPIFY IT'S DREADFUL IN THE EXTREME.
No stars to Shopify just a Warning Alert
I would give No Stars after the experience I have with Shopify.
As a beginner, I paid for a domain and a plan. The next day, I logged in and saw two stores—one free, one paid. Support said it was normal. I carried on with the paid store and realized I needed email hosting, which Shopify doesn’t provide. So I paid separately for Google Workspace.
That’s when everything fell apart.
Shopify refused to let me link my email because my domain was “connected to another store”—even though I only had one. They told me to buy a new domain or switch to beautydelightsbyafc.myshopify.com. I refused. I paid for beautydelightsbyafc.com and showed proof—PayPal receipts, Whois records, DNS screenshots. I went back and forth with chat support for days.
Eventually, they gave me partial DNS access, but the TXT record was wrong. I updated it. Still no release. Then they asked for more proof. I gave it. Still was denied. Now I’m blocked entirely—the only option is to pay again for the domain I already own. I understand people will praise shopify and I’m happy for you.. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with shopify.
Today, I discovered that GoDaddy is listing my domain for sale, and I’m not the one selling it. Shopify either failed to register it properly or released it without authorization. I’ve received no refund for the domain, plan, or email.
This is a breach of service and a warning to other founders.
I’ve filed formal complaints with ICANN, Tucows, and the UK Consumer Ombudsman. I’m publishing this publicly to protect others.
If you’re considering Shopify, be cautious. Their support is AI-driven, unaccountable, and unable to resolve serious issues. I now have branded cards and labels ready to go—but no domain, no store, and no way to cancel my subscription.

They're an underhanded and sneaky company automatically saving my card details and setting up an account for me unasked. What a disgusting set of practices may they go out of business as soon as possible.

Really really bad don’t use it they randomly close your store for no reason no chargeback nothing and hold big sums of money and terminate your account so you can’t access it or even complete orders this is how they damage small business reputation so our customers feel like we are scamming them but Shopify scams the sellers

I wonder why Shopify should still allow…
I wonder why Shopify should still allow Shopayuma on their platform despite several complaints which indicate that Shopayuma is a scam with speciality in taking people’s money and just disappear seemingly without a trace. All same pattern by giving fake FedEx tracking which leads to a random location; in my case Scotland. I am almost convinced that someone at Shopify must be part of the scam, otherwise how long or how many people will Shopify allowed to be scammed by Shopayuma before it’s taken down.
Shopify got big and ridiculous
Shopify got big and ridiculous, I am over 5 years customer and one day they says your shop is too risky and block me from shopify payments but still charge mr 1% for using other payment gateways which is ridiculous and we have to switch! I think it might just be their dirty tactics to earn more commission. And my shop is not risky at all, for the whole year i didnt make any real sales, just some scammy ones that I have cancelled. Its mostly a display wrbsite. I reallu dont and risk with no real paymeny and their response saying I’m risky is simply ridiculous, if you haven’t start your shop, just start on a better platform that will respect and appreciate you!
Paid for a product
Paid for a product, never received then vendor disappeared, no contact or website, Shopify just ignored my complaint, DO NOT TRUST this website, I think is a con.
Possible Fraudulent action
Have just attempted on two occasions to make a purchase supplier using this service, my bank keeps declining payment as coming up on their system as fraudulent this despite confirming with the text confirmation.
Now loosing time – on hold with the bank fraud line.

AVOID AT SLL CISTS
Placed an order on 7th September for £71.00. Money was taken, then 2 hours later a further £200 was fraudulently taken. Then they tried to take £1000 which my Bank declined and cancelled my card. They then tried to set up a monthly subscription for £2000.
Fraud Department at my Bank have stopped that. I emailed the Company asking for my money back with no joy. Contacted Shopify who basically advised the fill in a Firm - which I did.
My Bank advised I log a report with the Police which I told Shopify I was about to do - but the Agent advised not to do anything until Shopify had investigated and they would update me once completed.
Still not heard anything as of today and the Merchant has disappeared from Shopify. Shopify have today informed me that due to their Policies and Procedures I will not receive any information regarding their investigation and they will not contact me as previously told.
This is an absolute disgrace and they are promoting these scam Companies and basically do nothing about the poor buyer who has been illegally robbed.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM SHOPIFY AS THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ACTIVELY PROMOTING THESE COMPANIES.
THE COMPANY I ORDERED FROM HAS NOW DISAPPEARED FROM SHOOIFY.
