I’ve moved from Gousto for 8 years to Simmer because I’ve just started a GLP-1 and need less fat and more protein! I am pleasantly surprised by the taste! So great!

Thoroughly enjoy my meals. Very flavourful and filling. I do wish the discounts lasted longer as I think I would struggle with full price every week. For someone who struggles to get their protein in, this is a great way to increase it. Marie in customer service called me after my first 2 deliveries to check in, and she was very polite

The food is very tasty and good quality every meal is made to high standards and very easy to warm up

On the whole very nice and tasty. With some of the dishes that contain cauliflower the cauliflower was very tough. Would also like some more vegan dishes.

I am disabled and unable to cook for myself. It has been years since I have had the pleasure of a home cooked meal but now, thanks to Simmer I am able to have tasty and nutritious home cooked meals again. Customer service has been great and Lilly was very personable.

Had Simmer for 3 weeks. Overall review below. Unfortunately, the cancellation process significantly soured what had otherwise been a positive experience.

Food – 4/5
I was generally impressed by the meals. It was enjoyable trying different dishes, and there were some genuinely excellent ones. The BBQ Brisket was the standout for me and one of the best ready meals I've had.

Price – 2/5
The introductory offers make the service feel reasonably priced, comparable to a premium supermarket convenience meal. However, once those discounts were reduced, I couldn't justify paying £6.50+ per meal. Some dishes were excellent, but others were fairly average (even below average), making the premium difficult to justify over good supermarket alternatives.

Cancellation – 0/5
This completely changed my opinion of the service.

Cancelling my subscription was far more difficult than it should have been. There was no "Manage Subscription" or "Cancel Subscription" option within my account.

After searching, I eventually discovered that the cancellation page link was buried within Simmer's Zendesk help centre, rather than being clearly accessible from the account page. I don't believe a company should require customers to search its help centre to find the option to cancel a subscription.

Even after finding it, the process involved multiple pages, changing button locations, repeated retention prompts and much more prominent options to keep the subscription than to continue cancelling. It created unnecessary friction for what should be a simple process.

It's a shame because I genuinely enjoyed many of the meals. Had cancelling been as straightforward as signing up, this would likely have been a 4-star review instead of a 2-star review.

Simmer is excellent! Quick, healthy fresh food ready to eat without the hassle of cooking. Would recommend!

Great tasting food and the right portion sizes.

Been using Simmer for a few weeks, finding it really useful so far. Customer service and Marie have been helpful in the experience

The meals are genuinely delicious. I think they've improved their nutirition information reporting in the last couple years to be more accurate, which is great if you're tracking calories and macros.
I love that the menu is varied and full of flavour.
I sometimes have issues with delivery, but Simmer customer service are always super helpful with resolution even though the courier is a third party.
The amount of time and energy I save by subscribing to Simmer Eats is so significant. It's my go-to when I'm going through a busy period but want to stay on top of my nutrition and fitness goals.

Delicious meals, really tasty for the macros, and clean too. Excited to try the lean option next.
Only suggestion would be for a way to see how much each week will cost before payment. And if ordering a large amount a bigger box, not split into two boxes, to save on packaging and ice bags.

The meals are really tasty and quick so makes midweek eating quick, healthy and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent delivery food is great and good portion size. The only thing is price without discounts it’s very expensive but convenient for busy lifestyles.

Trying to cancelling your subscription with Simmer is like trying to solve a puzzle. there's nothing on their website to cancel, you email them, and they send you three emails with links to a website to cancel. you then click on the website and have to go through 10 different web pages telling them that you want to cancel, with the button to stay being twice if not three times the size of the contuine to cancel button, which is just small text underneath. They've made it intentionally hard to cancel, so they can continue to charge extortionate prices for their mid at best food. I've had three deliveries, the first was pleasant, the second there was not consistenty with flavour, sauce or cooking for vegetables. my last delivery, I had two meals go off way before the use by day, and again lack of consistency. Personally, i would avoid and would say as a rule of thumb, if a business is spending a tonne of money on advertisement, the product probably isn't as good as you think it is. you can see/taste in Simmers food that they're proritising money to spent on marketing , rather than improving their service.

There is no price transparency for weekly charge. Started finding out how much I was paying only when the money was deducted from my account. Also, good luck trying to cancel or pause your subscription, had to request via email and was send a link with +5 pages of diverting messages and questions.
Clear lack of transparency and process fairness! It's a shame, besides this issues and the high price, the meals are actually tasty (though ingredients are quite repetitive across meals each week)
