Simply VAT helped us with completing our backdated registration and deregistration for the UK.
It was a complicated situation as we no longer sell products in the region and getting in contact with HMRC to troubleshoot the issue was next to impossible. Our Simply VAT agent Jessie, took us through the whole process, was very communicative and gave us guidance on the forms we needed to complete.
We're very satisfied with the service and glad to have the issue resolved!

After using SimplyVAT for EU VAT services for over two years, I've decided to discontinue their services due to several issues:
Problematic Service Model: SimplyVAT doesn't file VAT directly but uses partners/agents. This structure means they lack control over their own fees, filing timelines, and de-registration processes. While mentioned in their Terms and Conditions, the full implications of this weren't clear to me initially. This led to unexpected complications, especially during the termination process.
Unexpected Fees: Many services incur additional charges beyond the monthly fee. Most disappointingly, upon terminating the contract, I was faced with unexpectedly high de-registration fees from their partners. These fees were not clearly communicated upfront and seem excessive. - in my case 600 GBP to cancel their service.
Limited Support: Tax questions are directed to a tax expert at a high hourly rate (375 GBP/hour), with a minimum booking of one hour. This makes getting simple advice prohibitively expensive.
Inadequate Account Management: Account management is outsourced to staff who simply follow standard operating procedures. These account managers are not tax experts and are unable to provide advice on specific tax situations. This led to a lack of proactive support and difficulty in addressing complex issues.
Communication Challenges: All communication is via email, making the monthly filing process time-consuming. There's no centralized dashboard, requiring constant email searches for important documents.
Changing Terms: The company's terms and conditions are subject to change without direct notification, sometimes with significant ramifications for termination and fees.
High Pricing: After comparing with another provider, I found SimplyVAT's services to be significantly more expensive for similar offerings.
While my VAT filings were generally completed without major issues, the overall experience, especially the termination process and associated fees, left me dissatisfied.
EDIT:
After I cancelled the service. Their team noticed that my last 4 quarters of OSS returns were rejected. This has gone unnoticed for a year. (It's possible to see success or rejection after only a few days/weeks after filing) This clearly shows the lack of attention to detail. They did admit to it being their mistake and that they should have noticed it earlier.
Not only will I be facing penalties and interest charges for their mistakes, but also have an increased risk of getting banned from OSS and increased scrutiny by authorities in the future.
After leaving this negative review I was contacted by someone from their team who ensured that my feedback will be taken seriously and who escalated the issue about failed returns to upper level management.
Upper-level management then tried to strong-arm me into paying as little as possible for their mistakes.
I requested a refund for the months which have been rejected, since I would have to completely refile all of them (not to mention the potential penalty charges). I believe this is quite a fair request considering it was their fault.
This should have amounted to a 900 GBP refund. Instead, they kept arguing, and after offering 270 GBP, through further negotiation they went up to 495 GBP and then said they would generously drop the 600 GBP charge for the deregistrations, which I had been fighting them about for a while too.
Of course, I have no leverage against them, so this is what I gotta go with.
But one thing I can tell you is that I was a pretty happy customer for the first few months, but once you run into issues, that's where you see if you work with a company that has your back.
I am now even more frustrated than before I started the cancellation process.
