I had the bad luck of contacting this clinic and speaking with Dr. Mert.

I only sent a simple email asking for information, and from that moment on the situation became unbearable. Even after clearly asking them not to contact me anymore, I continued receiving emails every week, several times a week, often at all kinds of hours.

This is extremely unprofessional and very annoying. A clinic should respect people’s privacy and their request not to be contacted anymore.

I strongly recommend avoiding this clinic if you do not want to be chased and spammed for life after a simple information request

I had my second Hair Transplant surgery on my crown area at Smile Hair Clinic, Istanbul back in June 2022. Several months after the surgery I naively posted a positive review.

I totally regret providing this review as the final result of the HT is painfully obvious that a poor/shoddy surgery was undertaken. My review of the customer service, transport, clinic care and hotel are positive and this can be seen where most reviews are posted only a few days to two weeks post surgery.

The tangible real result of any Hair Transplant is its success a year to two years later. I didnt post at the time but I sent photos to the clinic which showed the crown hair wasnt restored/bald patch and the back of hairline was poor, weak, patchy and hadnt been restored. It was basically destroyed. They were dismissive and stated it would take longer to grow. I argued and even when a hair restoration was offered, I refused. I couldnt go back to a clinic that did that to my hairline at the back. Iasked for full money back/ compensation and they refused.

Its deeply ironic as my 1st HT at a clinic in Budpest for the front hairline was an overwhelming success. I should have followed my gut and returned to that clinic irrespective of cost.

I now have to undertake a monthly high fade skin hair cut to reduce visible signs of destroyed hairline at the back. I use Minoxidil and Finasteride to help with hair growth on the crown.

Why post this review now? Well there are moments in your life which stop in your tracks. Despite getting a hair cut a month ago, I went into a clothing store. The changing rooms had high beam lights and side back and front mirrors. I was totally shocked and dismayed at seeing the back of my head. I reached out to a hair clinic in Dublin who confirmed the HT surgery was amateurish, poor and badly managed.

Shame on you, Smile Hair Clinic for destroying my confidence and managing the HT surgery so badly. You cant hide behind the photo evidence.

Please stay away from Smile Hair Clinic at all costs, and spend time researching better HT clinics available in Europe.

My whole experience was very good. The clinic arranged my transfers from Airport to hotel and clinic respectively. At the day of my procedure the staff were very good and professional. The treating doctor was also very good. My highlight has been the aftercare services. Wow I am very greatful as they have been helpful ever since I returned home to Uganda. They respond to all my questions and provide necessary advise. And overall my healing is very good.

My hair transplant procedure was led by Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan. Before the operation, we had a detailed consultation regarding my expectations and my current hair condition. What impressed me the most was Dr. Erdoğan's ability to realistically connect my expectations with what could actually be achieved. This honest and professional approach was one of the main reasons why I became even more satisfied with my choice of clinic.

During my experience, I realized that the excellent results achieved by Smile Hair Clinic are the result of both the expertise of its doctors and the experience of its medical team. In my opinion, this is one of the most critical factors in a successful hair transplant. I would especially like to thank Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan for his professionalism and expertise.

The procedure consisted of the extraction phase, followed by channel opening, and finally the implantation stage. Throughout the operation, the entire team demonstrated outstanding teamwork and dedication. I was regularly informed about the progress of the procedure, which helped me feel even more comfortable.

At the end of the operation, I was discharged and was very pleased with the density achieved. Before leaving, the team thoroughly explained everything I needed to know for the recovery period. They also provide a detailed guidebook that answers virtually every question you may have.

Another aspect that impressed me was the transportation service. They provided VIP transfers and dropped me off exactly where I needed to go, which was a very nice touch.

I had been informed that some pain could occur during the first two days after the operation. Surprisingly, I experienced no pain at all. I did not need to take a single painkiller, and the first two days were extremely comfortable for me.

Two days later, I returned to the clinic for my first wash. I was attended to quickly, my bandage was removed, and the washing procedure was completed. Afterward, I had a follow-up examination with the doctors. Following a detailed assessment, they told me that everything was progressing perfectly and that the operation had been very successful. At that moment, I felt completely reassured.

The entire experience was built around comfort, professionalism, and trust.

After the washing appointment, another team contacted me to explain that they would be responsible for my post-operative follow-up. What I truly appreciated was that they never leave you alone during the recovery process. Whenever I had a question, I received prompt and helpful responses.

In particular, Mrs. İdil has been taking care of my follow-up process, and I am still in contact with her. She has answered all of my questions and provided excellent support. I was informed that the clinic would continue to monitor my progress for an entire year through regular follow-ups and assessments.

From start to finish my experience with Smile Hair Clinic has been absolutely excellent. Although the clinic was recommended to me by a friend I was still a little apprehensive. First contact through WhatsApp was easy and seamless. After a few discussions and sending photos a got the impression they knew exactly what I wanted. The written quote, via email, outlined everything. Clear and concise with an amazing price attached. Once I’d accepted the quote the communication was constant and reassuring right up until it was time to travel.
Arriving in Turkey, I followed the very easy instructions to meet my transfer. Then I was taken to my amazing hotel. Again communication from transfer and clinic team was brilliant. I really felt at ease.
Arriving at the clinic I was greeted with many smiling faces. Dispelling any anxiety I had. I met with doctors and clinic team and had everything explained again.
Procedure was carried out with skill and expertise, but not rushed. No real pain.
Transfers back to hotel, next day to clinic and airport were all again seamless. Really helped by amazing communication. At no point did I feel unsafe or unsure, the communication made the whole process an absolute joy.

My Experience with Smile Hair Clinic: Debunking the Reddit "Hair Mill" Myth
I chose Smile Hair Clinic in Istanbul because my cousin went here first. He needed a massive number of grafts, they did an incredible job, and his hair looks fantastic. Despite his success, when I researched the clinic on Reddit beforehand, I saw a lot of comments labeling it a "hair mill." Now that I have actually completed my surgery there, I want to set the record straight based on my actual firsthand experience.

The Reality of the Clinic Volume & Dedicated Staff

Smile Hair Clinic is a pristine, ultra-professional facility. While I was there, I saw maybe five or six other patients total. Even if they had 12 patients a day, the math still doesn't equal a "hair mill" because of the sheer volume of staff dedicated to each individual.

Every single client gets their own private doctor consultation and a team of three technicians. Crucially, the clinic manages their staff beautifully: the technicians work in two distinct shifts (a morning shift and a late shift). This means the people working on your head are never exhausted or burned out; they are fresh, focused, and meticulous. Having a rotating team of four specialists (including the doctor) working on you for five hours is the exact opposite of a factory line.

The Doctor’s Involvement & Tiered Pricing

I suspect some of the negative reviewers on Reddit might be choosing the absolute lowest, baseline package where technicians handle the entire process. I paid around $3,000 for the package where a primary doctor does the consultation and the hairline design. In the United States, this entire procedure would easily cost upwards of $30,000—and you wouldn't get the luxury hotel or private transfers included.

My doctor spoke perfect English, had traveled extensively all over the US, and was a fantastic conversationalist. His approach was highly skilled and conservative:

He meticulously mapped my hairline to ensure it didn't cross any facial muscles (which always looks fake).

He built micro-zigzags into the boundary lines to create an entirely natural, organic look.

He even identified and filled in some thinning areas I hadn’t noticed myself.

The doctor performs the actual "channel opening" (the micro-incisions). Because he sets the exact angle and direction of every single channel himself, the design is effectively foolproof before the technicians even begin placing the grafts.

Impeccable Professionalism & Premium Details

I was extremely impressed by how thoroughly they operate as an international medical business. They provided highly detailed, professional legal paperwork regarding the hairline expectations, showing they have thought through every single angle. They have their own specialized product line, but they were never pushy about selling it. Instead, they send you home with a beautiful starter kit containing enough high-quality aftercare products and a specialized pillow to get you safely through the first stage of recovery.

An Incredible Value & Travel Experience

The all-inclusive package logistics were flawless. The private airport and hotel transfers were seamless and always perfectly on time. The included 5-star hotel was excellent—the breakfast was fantastic, it featured a beautiful pool, and while the carpet was a tiny bit dated, it was incredibly clean and comfortable.

Getting to pair this procedure with traveling through Europe made it a total win-win. Istanbul felt entirely safe; the traffic is horrendous, but the local people are exceptionally warm and friendly.

Final Verdict (One Week Post-Op)

It is honestly a bit disgusting to see this clinic get slandered on Reddit. My experience was defined by top-tier medical professionalism, safety, and thorough care. I am currently just at the beginning of my recovery journey, and while there is always a chance things could heal uniquely, I am incredibly happy with the design and execution. I wish Smile Hair Clinic the absolute best of luck in the future, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a world-class experience without the Beverly Hills price tag.

I got a 2800 FUE procedure at Smile Hair Clinic.

Went to an independent specialist so he could assess the damage to my donor area.

At 7 months post surgery, my buzzed donor area looks overharvested and thinned out with much clustering and uneven distribution of graft selection. The back and right-back side of my donor area show clear mistakes done by the technician, which must've become tired or rushed and got very sloppy, compounding the fact that he wasn't competent enough to do this procedure in the first place.

A 2800 graft procedure usually takes between 7-10 hours, mine took less than 5 hours. There simply wasn't enough patience in selecting grafts so I have straight bands and wider/concentrated spots as opposed to a uniform, blended mosaic all around. There's a clear delineation between my native hairs and the donor zone/harvesting area.

You can expect for the surveying Doctor to pay very little attention to you and rush your design without taking any meaningful consideration as to your donor area constitution/viability.

The clinic is clean and the stay/transportation are fine, but the quality of the professionals is the real important part of the whole ordeal and this clinic doesn't live up to the reviews as far as I am concerned.

I *highly* recommend you save some extra money for a real surgeon, that will be fully involved from start to finish - especially if you are doing greater than 2000 grafts. The Smile technicians aren't terrible but they aren't good enough for the level of responsibility that comes with plastic surgery, in my experience.

My transplanted area shows good results.

My donor area is ruined. Will not be able to ever use any guard lower than an 8" when buzzing my hair. Would probably not be able to go for a second transplant if I needed to.

You will have little-to-no accompaniment during the surgery by the responsible Doctor, to whom I place sole responsibility for my bad donor area result: Dr. Ali Osman Soluk.

You get what you pay for.

Wait before you fill the survey that they rush at you just after your surgery in order to throw your premature evaluation in your face when you complain about your bad results.

Hello everyone. I chose this clinic and would like to share my experience.

They responded to my request very quickly, especially compared to other clinics. A big part of that positive first impression was thanks to the clinic manager, Bülent, who was always available, answered all my questions in detail, and guided me through the entire process.

I chose the Platinum package. The level of service was truly excellent: airport pickup, all transfers between the hotel and the clinic — everything was perfectly organized. Even though the clinic handles a large number of patients, I constantly felt personal attention and an individual approach.

I arrived on Thursday, had the surgery on Friday, and flew back to Austria on Sunday. During the entire stay, there were no queues, no waiting times, and no bureaucratic issues at all. It was obvious that the team has a lot of experience and that the entire process is extremely well organized.

The only point I did not fully understand was the role of the doctor himself. Before choosing the clinic, I had read many reviews and selected the Platinum package specifically because it suggested that the surgery would be performed by the doctor rather than only by the staff. Based on reviews, I chose Dr. Ahmedov.

The procedure itself consisted of three stages: graft extraction, channel opening, and graft implantation. In my case, Dr. Ahmedov was directly involved mainly in the second stage — creating the channels. During the first and third stages, he supervised the process, consulted the team, and monitored the work, while the assistants performed most of the hands-on procedures. The entire surgery lasted around 6 hours.

Dr. Ahmedov himself made a very positive impression on me — an intelligent, educated person and clearly an experienced professional.

Now, 13 days after the surgery, I can say that my overall impression has been very positive. I also noticed a few additional things worth mentioning. In my group there were patients from the USA, Romania, and Italy. Like me, they had spent a long time choosing a clinic, and after the surgery everyone seemed satisfied with the price-to-quality ratio.

I would also like to highlight the clinic’s individual approach to patient care. The day after the operation, I noticed some bleeding in the transplanted area. I took photos and sent them to my consultant. Although I was originally scheduled to return to the clinic two days later for a check-up, they arranged a transfer for me the very next day, brought me to the clinic, examined me, washed my scalp, and applied fresh bandages.

If I had to make the choice again today, I would still choose Smile Hair Clinic. Of course, the final result is still ahead of me, and now the most important thing is how the hair will grow over the coming months. Hopefully everything will go according to plan. I will try to post an update again in about four months.
