Annual Christmas meal for friends and family.

I had my annual Christmas meal for 26 people this year at The Red Lion Pub, Wednesfield, and this was the 6th time here and the best yet ! Great food, really nice staff who provided excellent service , good value for money, see you next year !!! Jean and all the rest !

Made a booking online for pub in Leeds

Made a booking online for pub in Leeds. It was cancelled by their system saying they would be too busy and the booking shouldn't have gone through. Deposit of £10 taken from them. Have had to make several calls and email to chase after being told it would be refunded automatically. Reading the other reviews, I don't hold out that I will get a favourable response from Stonegate Pubs Accounts department. Very bad system and not great customer service.

Don’t use ….

I started using the Three Tunns in Gosport when I moved to the area, it was full of awful people and I had to call the Police after being the victim of a crime.

That’s when Stonegate started harassing me repeatedly to the point where I had to report them too. They will do anything to prevent anyone finding out how the operate on threats and intimidation. Even the Managing Director!

I can’t say this enough, stay clear and have nothing to do with them

Cash-Only - The Silk Mill, Nuneaton

Dear Sirs,
I write to express my sheer disappointment and furthermore embarrassment following a recent visit to your Nuneaton venue, The Silk Mill on Saturday the 20th August.
We phoned earlier on in the day and enquired if the venue would be showing the publicised boxing event on the evening of Saturday 20th August, whereby we were told that it would indeed be shown.
We arrived at the venue at approx. 8pm where by we were greeted by a short young gentleman by the name of Elliot I believe whom abruptly said “fiver each to get in…”. Firstly I was a little taken back by this comment as being in hospitality myself I found it somewhat bizarre that a pub/bar were charging entry. Regardless of this I politely said to the gentleman that there were indeed 6 of us in total where he responded “well that’s thirty quid then… oh and its cash only…”
Forgive my instant shock at this, a pubco insisting ‘cash-only…’. By this stage I was a little embarrassed as I was with work colleagues whom I’d invited to watch the event at a venue I had chosen, so I am sure you can imagine the embarrassment at this point.
I explained to the gentleman that unfortunately I only had cards or contactless to pay and he insisted by stating; “well you aren’t getting in then pal…”
At this point I picked my embarrassed self from the ground and suggest to my colleagues that we simply find another venue… Where we indeed did and went on to have a very enjoyable evening.

My reason for writing to yourselves is that being an independent operator myself and during these tough times in hospitality; Stonegate you really outshone your lack of customer service and regard on this occasion. It completely put me off wanting to use the venue in the future.
I would ask if someone can explain perhaps why this ‘cash-only’ policy is in place and why it is not advertised. As had I of known prior, I would have saved myself the embarrassment and ensure I had been to a cash-point prior.
I look forward to a reply.

No beer no staff and filthy

No beer no staff and filthy - Weston super mare. The list of drinks not available outstripped the ones there. People in front of us have left as none of the kids food was available. One person behind the bar in the height of summer! Unbelievable

Staff don’t respond I recently emailed the CEO to point out the poor experience guess what he didn’t respond either lack of care from top to bottom so sad that a company that strives to provide a customer experience can’t even get the basics right

They owe me over £50

Went to the Bay&Bracket in Victoria on Saturday 30/4/22 and after making the £53 payment I was told the machine was faulty and that I should pay again. Having checked my account on the following Monday, they had taken two payments.

It's now 3 weeks and 4 emails later. No-one will respond to emails from Stonegate and the bar just keep telling me to contact Stonegate customer service.

I have now paid over £100 for two people to have brunch and no sign of getting a refund.

These people will overcharge you and then ignore you! Appalling....

Update: I have managed to contact the actual bar manager via Facebook who has been very, very helpful and receptive to my feedback.

Terrible club. Pathetic attempt to decorate club for New Years. Over priced alcohol. Over forceful bouncers and useless staff. Just awful club to go to.

The Oak Tree here in Norwich has just…

The Oak Tree here in Norwich has just recently reopened. Miranda and her husband have worked incredibly hard to put this pub back on the map. They have very friendly staff, their food is fantastic with a £7 menu up to 4pm each day, I have eaten here with family and friends and it is fantastic food! This establishment is now the best this side of the city, so please visit it. A good public house and restaurant has been a long time coming, and now we have it! Highly recommended.

THE WISHING WELL BOREHAMWOOD …

This supposedly big operation has just taken over my local pub.It was expected to open on 23rd December it never happened. Then decided it would open at 5.00 p.m.on New Years Eve,but had to serve drink in plastic glasses as theGlass Washer did not work!
Went in the following day(New Years Day)
and the newly installed cooler failed hence warm beer.This when this so called big operation had a month to sort any problems.Felt genuinely for new manager as it was quite apparent there was no support from the big operation.Spend £200.00+a week got myself new local.RIP THE WISHING WELL BOREHAMWOOD.

Awful experience with this company

Awful experience with this company, reserved a table for friends to meet in their club 'Sway' in London, turns out I don't get the money back, just pay for everyone's drinks. Great. Totally ridiculous. Never heard of this way of doing things, paid plenty of table deposits in my time for large groups of people and can understand why this is done however, usually when you meet the minimum spend, you get the money back. (£300, £10 a head for 30 people)

Still awaiting a breakdown of the drinks had so I can request money back from people who attended.

Awful service, terribly handled. Wont be using again and wont be recommending.

MARKET INN, Bracknell - 10/10

MARKET INN, BRACKNELL
We were looking for a pub that offered Karaoke and good food, close to us in Ascot. We wanted to celebrate my husbands 58th Birthday and he loves Karaoke. We stumbled apon the Market Inn in Bracknell thanks to Google. Hearing that the pub had a very bad reputation I was hesitant to book, especially as we were going to be a very large group (21 people). I reached out via email and was very upfront with the Manager, Dan about my concerns. Dan reassured me that the cliental on a Thursday night was very different to a Sat night and that he doing all he can to change the poor image.

Well I can now confidently say that Dan and Hazel went out of their way, to not only ensure that the party was a great success, but that that all my needs were met. Hazel even helped me decorate the tables.

The food was outstanding. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection. Well done to the chef. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

Hazel took us under her wing for the entire night and went above and beyond. Her cocktails were incredible, as were the shooters. The added bonus was the Quiz. None of us had ever experienced this before, as we are all from South Africa. Even though we only came 4th, a good laugh was had by all.

If I could just make one small suggestion, to the ladies bathrooms. Please turn the dryers on. The big roll of hand drying paper on the basin, let you down. Bathrooms need to be clean and in good working order at all times.

To end, this review, a massive thank you to the Market Inn for a night we will never forget.

Before you think about leasing a pub…

Before you think about leasing a pub from this company think again me and my husband showed interest in a pub in Sheffield after a meeting with the area manager decided to go for it that's when our nightmare begins after doing everything that the area manager told us what we needed to do to getting everything in place 3 months of been lied to getting messed around the area manager is a total waste of time how he is in a job is beyond me no manners whatsoever ignoring phone calls and emails. If your thinking of the pub game give this firm a massive swerve trust me much better company's out there who do actually want to help you
Stonegate no need to bother with a reply you never bothered to reply to my emails don't brake the habit of a lifetime
