We have recently moved and had to put our entire home into storage in Frome. We used Storage King to store everything while we waited for our house to be completed. The team at Storage King were very helpful. Security on site seemed very good and the access control and temperature in the unit remained constant. We were able to access at varied times which was very convenient. We will definitely use Storage King again and recommend them.

I had my belongings stored for 7 months with insurance, paying nearly £300 a month. When I moved my items out, I discovered my mattress was damaged by rodents, with live baby rodents inside.
I contacted the storage facility, but after several days with no response, I called them. Their initial claim was that dry food caused the rodents, but I had no such items in storage—just belongings moved from a cleaner facility in Luton. Ten days later, they admitted no food was found, but they insisted I was still using the facility unit (despite removing my padlock and items) and continued charging me during the investigation. They also said I’d have to pay £300 to dispose of the mattress, which I could later claim through insurance.
After filling out the insurance claim, they offered just £99 for a mattress worth £888. The process was frustrating, with delays and minimal communication, and I ultimately had to buy a new mattress for £800. The storage facility’s poor management and hygiene were evident throughout.
Terrible experience; unbelievable that the Dartford facility has the same owners as that of Luton; or maybe not. SAD!

To start with very good but only explain the bits they want you to know then suddenly put charges up without telling you and then put extra charges on if you are late paying because the amount that should come out has been doubled. Do not use blackpool branch

Amazing facility , could not faulter mick in the office he was extremely helpful as I'd never used a storage facility before. He made the entire process from start to finish so simple. These people are the "go to" I will certainly be contacting mick again in the future for further storage requirements

I have Used Basildon storage King on and Off for over 10 years. Mick at the store is always super friendly and accommodating . We have never had any Issues there always ease of Access and when I became disabled Mick helped to get our Unit on the ground floor to make it easier for me to access. The best Customer Service and I would never use any where else - Thank you so much.

This is my second time doing business with Storage King. I opened an account with Storage King Bedford - Self Storage on November 13th for a 50 sq ft unit with the Manager Lee that I needed urgently due to an agreement with my landlord and the Real Estate Agency. At the time of opening the account, I told Lee I had damaged a tendon in my dominant left hand as I had a splint on my finger at the time which will slow me down significantly due to the limited range of motion. Due to the last minute turnaround, Lee suggested one remover who might be able to help. I contacted the individual and left a voicemail.
I transferred half of my belongings into the allocated unit on the same day and I did not leave until quite late around minutes to 10pm. I recontacted the suggested remover in the morning who said he did not check his messages and he would not be able to help. I recontacted Lee November 14th who suggested another driver who also was unavailable which left me in quite a stressful position.
I eventually got someone to assist me around minutes 9pm on November 14th, where I was able to put the bulky items in first with the driver which did not end until around half 9. As I was about to take the remaining smaller items up to the locker along with the rest that came with the driver at exactly 10pm. I put the code in and was immedately denied access. I called the emergency contact number on the wall as directed by Lee on orientation to the facility, I waited several minutes for answer. I explained the situation that I had just opened the facility the previous day and unfortunately I cannot put the things into my car which was already filled to capacity and my locker was opened.
The person eventually got on to Lee who shouted at me over the telephone "That it is after 10" on multiple occasions during the conversation which was very unprofessional. I was treated like I did it repeatedly when this was the first instance I actually had to do this and it was due to mitigating circumstances. I have no one to help me, a damaged hand, and I had to get out of my house that I was living in by November 14th. I explained that it was never my intention to even be on the premises at that time and he has no idea the day I have had which had gone quite horrible.
Lee did not need to come to the facility as he was able to open doors remotely from his home. He did not open the doors where I was standing but one clear across the lot and told me to hurry knowing I have a damaged hand. I broke household items due to this.
The worst part was there was someone else in the facility with me who was "dressed in black with a hoodie on" that he could clearly see on the "14 cameras" from the safety of his home. My vehicle was the only non company vehicle on the compound so I wondered who was there as I oversaw my driver leaving the facility and I saw no one else whilst I was there.
Instead of calling the police to ensure my safety, he sent me to me search out whomever was there, to ask who they were and to ask them to leave. This led to the customer shouting at me, I have no right to tell her to leave as I am not "an employee of Storage King". I was shouted at for being on the compound post 10pm however another customer was a regular for being on the compound post 10 acording to him "I know her" and her "I do it all the time".
By the time, I got to my unit, I had a full blown anxiety attack due to the earlier events of my day exacerbated by the added stressors that occurred at the facility on November 14th.
Lee, your behaviour was very unprofessional as this was a first instance, you placed my life at risk because I am certain the facility has protocol for a suspected intruder and you failed to act swiftly by putting me in harm's way, you allow other customers to come post 10pm but treated me differently and you had no clue I have a hidden disability by causing a panic attack by your shouting at me.
If I could have moved all my items out of the facility the next day, I would have. I will never do business with Storage King again.

I’ve had a terrible experience with the Tunbridge Wells facility. After 3 years, spending £10,000 to store the whole contents of my home, to find the most disgusting scene of infestation. Most of my property has been destroyed and the removal company forced to deposit what was still usable in the garden. Please check your units for cleanliness and the condition and safety of your property. My experience is that their pest control failed miserably. This has been a devastating and costly experience.
