TT customer for nearly 20 years who remained loyal despite ongoing poor customer service as internet was reliable, if slow at times.
Renewed contract Feb this year, with an agreed `guaranteed` 52meg download / 14 meg upload… contract then stated 42 meg download / 14 meg upload.
Based on TT own speed tests, download regularly not meeting 42 meg, often 12 meg and lower, upload has never met 14 meg, together this could be considered a breach of contract. Current download 9 meg download and 5 meg upload.
Now signed up with new supplier, TT called on the same day and the agent ended the call abruptly when I confirmed that I was leaving. Subsequently I have now been bombarded with 5/6 calls a day, all but 1 being recorded messages.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I have wasted hours on TT `online chats` and will now only engage via my TT email. If you (TT) call after Monday 27 Jun I WILL block any number you use and report it as a nuisance call.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. By their own terms i wasn't liable for a fault in the street several houses away. They charged me for the repair anyway. One cutomer service person fobbed me off and agreed i was not liable - so told me he would remove the charge. He didn't. When i contacted them again ,they gave me the runaround for over 1 hour and a half before i gave up. They said BT told them to charge me, they refused to share the report citing it wasn't technicaly possible or some BS along those lines. I'm am entitled to see any info you store on me!

The FIBRE 65 broadband connection was low according to their speed checker. Their diagnostic tool ran and CRASHED, showing no activity for 50 minutes before we got bored and closed the window.
They sent out a technician who reported back to Talk Talk that the problem was resolved! We didn’t get the opportunity in this to DISAGREE that anything was improved.
FIBRE 65 has a minimum bit-rate of 27 Mbps. The connection is actually at 23 Mbps, significantly lower. The technician said that if it was REALLY LOW, say 5 Mbps, he would have escalated it to OpenReach. As it is only a little bits low (15% lower than the MINIMUM), he wouldn’t do it. It means there is a secret below- minimum minimum at which it gets escalated, This is a new definition of minimum which I am unaware of.
Interestingly, he said it was 23 mega-bytes per second. I corrected him to mega-bits per second and he thought they were the same thing! Almost, just maybe a factor of 10 different.
This was at my Aunt's house. The appointment was between 3-00pm and 6-00pm. I got there 50 minutes early, just in case he got there early, and he still was there before me :-(

Terrible… my 95 year old grandma’s landline hasn’t been working for around 3 months now. So for 3 months I have been trying to call and cancel with talk talk. My grandma is vulnerable, lives on her own and has dementia. She has been paying each month for no reason as when somebody rings the phone it’s crackling and nobody on either end can hear. When trying to cancel they have said they will ring the landline and give us a code… the landline doesn’t work which is the issue in the first place! Have 0 understanding or empathy towards their elderly customers… disgusting

My problem was understood, and quickly resolved - excellent lady who did this.

My talk talk wifi extender stopped working.
I got in touch on chat, tried everything the technician said, the router still wouldn't pair with the extender. Told me they would send an engineer round that afternoon(excellent) I asked the chat ,how much . Initially he said £75, I said forget it.
Then he said there would be no charge.
Engineer came, got on his laptop and heyho 10 minutes later got it paired. Good stuff.
I later received a bill for the engineers visit of £75.
Their excuse was there was nothing wrong with the router. So I must pay for the visit.
I told them that the Engineer said it just didn't want to pair. Their reply.
Sorry but we can't do anything.
Fair play Talk Talk rang me and said they had reviewed my complaint, and agreed to waive the charge for the engineer.
This is a problem with the chat line. The guys in India have a script to adhere to. And very little autonomy. The whole thing could of been sorted without recourse.

Quite literally the worst provider I've ever had to have service through. Never a consistent connection and constant line issues, not worth the package we pay for and certainly never gets dealt with in a timely manner. We pive in a house where one member works remotely so good connection is key yet they never seem to provide.

Where to begin.. firstly use of AI and staff in South Africa where TalkTalk can pay lower wages than in the UK. They provide without a doubt the most appalling, negligent customer service I have received. Impossible to get a resolution, let along speak to a human. If lucky enough to get a call back I get passed from department to department all claiming they can't help. They change the dates they decide to call you back despite having texting confirming the correct day. Absolute sham. Weak signal and lack of internet for over a week. I've been assured call backs, and account credits which haven't been applied. I would discourage anyone from not using TalkTalk

Very poor especially in light of dealing with a bereavement and trying to contact TalkTalk to cancel deceased contract. TalkTalk are a nightmare and I would not recommend them to my enemy.

Led me to believe that we would pay £34 a month and then at the last it was £53. Trickery!

Hi wasn’t making payment on 16 Jun then then received this email Please make sure you have enough in your account to cover this payment, otherwise we'll have to add a £12.50 admin fee to your next bill. To avoid this happening in future, always make sure your payment reaches us by the due date shown on your bill.
I paid on 22 Jun and on 26 Jun I was charged 12.50£ for paying the bill nice
Overall I paid on top on this years around 200£
I not recommend this company any more will never use again

This would be zero stars if possible.
TalkTalk offered me a renewal deal, it was almost double the price of alternative broadband providers. Due to this I booked a change, and gave TalkTalk 4 weeks notice about this change. TalkTalk then told me as my change was 2 days before the end of my contract I would owe £10 as a final bill, not a problem as my new provider will cover that.
2 days before my changeover happens TalkTalk sent me a bill for the entirety of next month, charging £60, instead of the £10 I was told. On challenging this I was told that nothing could be done. Despite them know my contract was ending for 4 weeks they’re not capable of producing a correct bill even though they’ve already told me the correct amount. I need to pay the full bill, or I’ll be charged a late payment fee, and my credit report will show a missed payment.
I raised this as a complaint, and was told the exact same thing again. And also told that they’ll refund me anything owed next month instead as if that’s an acceptable resolution. So in effect TalkTalk have told me I am going to lend them £50 for a month, or I will have to deal with the consequences.
Complaints are being made to the Ombudsman, and Ofcom.

I spent over 90 minutes on the phone trying to sort out a TALKTalk TV box problem. They sent me “round the houses” making me repeat myself again and again.I told them that I had no Ethernet connection due to a faulty network connection plug and would like a new one. They sent a new TVbox that was not requested and no new network connection plug!! Only one star because there is no negative star rating.
UPDATE
Had a follow up call yesterday to discuss our problems, explained again that we had intermittent internet contact via the new Talk Talk box and still thought a new receiving network plug was what was needed. I was told that the caller would consult an engineer for advice and get back to us later. No further contact since!!
Not happy.

Internet drops 3 or 4 times a day.
There was no option online to see what upgrades to broadband I could get. There was earlier in the year but the offer was to pay more £26 for a 2 year deal which increased each year for the same speed I had already, laughable. Absolutely ridiculous. Then I was bombarded with calls for the next 2 weeks which I ignored. And to increase my bill from £20.50 to £24.50 is way above the CPI increase I would expect. 0 customer loyalty.

I never thought I would have to leave another negative review, but TalkTalk has once again let me down.
After my previous complaint about being left without internet for several days during my son's A-level exams, I was contacted by TalkTalk. During that call, I was told that my £180 early termination fee would be waived as a gesture of goodwill because of the poor service I had received. Based on that assurance, I believed the matter had been resolved.
Now, a month later, I have received an email demanding payment of £163. This is completely unacceptable and feels very misleading. If your staff make promises to customers, those promises should be honoured.
The original issue was handled just as poorly. Our service stopped working for more tgan a week. Despite repeatedly trying to contact TalkTalk, I received little to no support. An engineer finally visited on 20 June but was unable to fix the problem and said another visit would be needed. However, on 22 June I received a text message saying, "We hope that your recent visit from our engineer has resolved the issue," even though nothing had been fixed and I was still without internet.
The outage happened while my son was sitting his A-level exams. He depended on the internet for revision and coursework, and I had to spend an extra £25 on mobile data so he could continue studying. The unnecessary stress caused during such an important time was completely avoidable.
The lack of communication, inaccurate updates, broken promises, and now the demand for a fee that I was explicitly told had been waived have destroyed my confidence in TalkTalk. Customers deserve honesty, reliable communication, and for commitments made by customer service representatives to be honoured.
I would strongly advise anyone considering TalkTalk to think carefully before signing up.

Keep ending the call when trying to end service with them . Not elderly friendly service. Do not advice for elderly customers who struggle with understanding or anything . Also had the call ending on my nan 3 times today this is ridiculous TalkTalk you have got to sort this out if you want people using your services. If you want people using your services then l best advice to think about how you are dealing with customers and on how rude it is to keep ending the call on people who are trying to sort out service .
