Evaluating 30 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently pointed out that the tea tastes extremely weak and watery, leaving them with little to no flavor in their daily cup. Many buyers explained that the teabags now feel much lighter and contain noticeably smaller amounts of tea leaves than they used to in the past. This month Tetley tea bags are just awful. I thought I had a bad batch but then looked online. Lots of people saying the same thing. I need two bags in one cup (NOT a pot!) to get anywhere near a norm... See more

I had the great misfortune of having to endure several cups of this monstrosity of a tea. Why anyone would choose to drink let alone spend good money on it I have no idea. If all you have ever known... See more

Don't know what you've done but the Tetley original is terrible. We thought it was the milk as our cuppa tasted chalky. But via using Scottish blend we discovered it wasn't our milk nor water but Te... See more

Be warned. This company has been bought out and the tea has completely changed and not for the better. The new perfumed flavour started slipping through around last Christmas, and I have finally stopp... See more

I have never left a review before on…

I have never left a review before on food items but just had to!!!
Yuck, the worst tea ever! Had to actually throw in food waste bin as the whole family (of 7) agreed! Looks strong when brewed but is actually tasteless!
Back to the Irish teas, Thomson’s, Nambarrie and Barrys!

Finding the bags to be very weak…

Finding the bags to be very weak indeed, we noticed a year ago but in the last 2 months from 2022 January, they have gone even weaker.
We can't even make 2 cups of tea from 1 bag as the second cup tastes like hot water.

I've given Tetley a 5 star for a reason,
I like making my own wine, and I once used tetley tea bags as an experiment to see what type of alcohol it would make. Oh my god guys (AMAZING). Tetley tea, will produce you, now wait for this guys, get ready, a very crisp fuity white wine and it tastes absolutely amazing. Yes I know it sounds ridiculous and crazy because it's tea, but believe me I've done it and it's absolutely beautiful.

An Unpleasant Brew

I was disappointed with the unpleasant taste of my Tetley cuppa. I change the brand of my tea every so often and Tetley ranked amongst one of my favourites.
Tetley tea has changed beyond all recognition. My cup of tea looks muddy and unappealing and has a bitter peculiar taste.

Drinking hot water…

Was curious to see if people thought their tea was weaker . I have found this too. It has put me off buying them next time. They stay weak even if you leave them in the cup

This company has really let me down

This company has really let me down, i've been drinking Tetley tea for as long as i can remember. My latest purchase has left me using 2 tea bags instead of 1. I want my money back, and I wont buy anymore from your company if you don't start looking after your customers

tetleys tea has become a lottery

tetleys tea has become a lottery, One bag of teabags will all be fine while another identical pack of tea will contain teabags all as weak as dishwater. no point buying branded tea if the brand does not stand for consistent quality. Some accountant has worked out how to save production costs by cheating on the tea content of strength - worthy to demonstrate in youtube video the striking difference. Dont mess with our cuppa Tetley.

Why have Tetley's teabags become so…

Why have Tetley's teabags become so weak lately.Wait ages for them to brew and I'm definitely not using two bags! Is that the idea ...spend double the money.
Will be changing to a different tea when I've used up what I have.
Such a shame.

As a Tetley drinker for 20 plus years

As a Tetley drinker for 20 plus years. I am a builders tea man. Could these new bags be the reason I am using 2 bags to get any colour to my tea. I have now gone to Typhoo which I used to find a bit harsher in taste but I am now getting my builders tea again.

Plastic in bags

I have been using Tetley tea bags for 50 years, but I have now stopped buying them because they use plastic products in their non recyclable bags. I have switched to Dorset Tea.

Green tea tasted like a blend with black tea.
Disappointing. Just tasted like a weak black tea.
I haven’t drank anything but green tea for over twenty years and gave this a go as there were no options on the Tesco home delivery site.

Tetley Plastic Bags

Apparently Tetley tea bags conatin plastics. I wasn't happy when I read this because the world is polluted with plastics - the oceans, rivers, land, our food and of course it ends up in our bodies. Apparently most manufacturers use polypropylene in their tea bags, so I did an experiment with Tetley tea bags. I made a cup of tea with a Tetley tea bag, then another taking the tea out of a Tetley tea bag and brewing it in a cafetiere. The result was that tyhe cup made using the tea bag was cloudy and the one made using the cafetiere was clear.

There are campaigns to ban plastics from toothpaste (microbeads), landfill sites and the sea, to ban plastic shopping bags. Plastics have been found in marine life and in the fish we eat. Let's ban plastics from Tetley tea.

Tetley, please get your act together and realise that a lot of people actually do care about their health and don't want to consume petrochemicals.
