Car key fob battery replacement. What a complete and utter rip-off

I was concerned when the battery on my car key fob ran out. I went to Timpsons as it was close and had a new one put in. Staff were very polite but I was charged £19.99. When I told my husband he said I could have bought a battery for less than £2 and done it myself. I stupidly thought , wrongly that it needed a special battery.when I emailed customer service the sarcastic reply was ‘that is the correct price, sorry our pricing structure didn’t suit you, have a nice day😀l. Friendly and polite when taking your money, not so when you complain. Should be ashamed of themselves, sheer profiteering. They also said I could buy a new key for over £180+. When a new one can be bought for £38. Absolute sharks!!!

Extortionate

Timpson in Clacton wanted £25 to change a watch battery. Bought a new Renata battery online for £1.80 and did it myself.

Good efficient service

Brighton, North Street, Timpson.
The black suede shoes that I took in for heeling now look as though I’d bought them yesterday. Brilliant work and so pleased I can wear them again.

They lost my 2.5 year old duvet cost to replace £550
I had the original receipt of purchase. Contacted their head office The complaint handler was very very unpleasant to deal with Would only offer me £350 to replace said duvet including the cleaning cost of £33.95 I paid them upfront for their services “ Timpsons WONT REPLACE NEW FOR OLD and advised me to take further advice
my duvet was in pristine condition and came with a 5 year guarantee.
What makes this even worse was. they tried to give me a dirty duvet completely different make from the one I entrusted them with but miraculously had my ticket number on it. Timpsons head office is a disgrace they were not interested in learning lesions from this No proper apology no accountability absolutely disgusting.
For what it’s worth the complaint handler needs to have some training on interpersonal skills STAY WELL CLEAR

5* for Timpson outside Asda, Penryn, Cornwall.

Popped into Timpson outside Asda in Penryn, Cornwall to get my watch strap fixed. The metal link was bent so he initially tried a quick repair for no charge, but I returned and left my watch with him for a full repair and this was perfectly fixed. Great service with a smile.
Two previous fixes by a local jeweler who sold the strap failed.
I can recommend this business.

Poor service

I managed to tread on my heel whilst wearing boots and dislodged the rubber from the heel. I went to the nearest Timpson which is a tiny store. The staff member was sitting down looking at his phone when I slid the door open. Apparently the boots couldn’t repaired there and then and would take two days at the earliest? Disappointed, when he was literally looking at his phone and sitting down when I arrived. I travelled to town and saw the Timpson guys and they replaced the heels immediately.

BROUGHTY FERRY BRANCH

BROUGHTY FERRY BRANCH: We’ve had cause to stop into Timpson (not Timmons as originally posted) twice this week. Once to discuss a shed key, and once for a battery replacement. Both times S has been fantastic, initially explaining the reason why a new shed key wasn’t possible and secondly to replace a watch battery under a lifetime guarantee.

I noted they had a photo printing machine, so will be back to print some ahead of a birthday celebration later in the month.

Lower capacity battery fitted

I had the battery in my Samsung mobile phone replaced by Timpson's tech centre. The process was simple, quick and not expensive, about £70. The job was well done and there was no damage to the phone. Unfortunately, the usable time from a fully charged phone is shorter than when the phone was new, with its original battery. I suspect Timpsons used a lower capacity battery than the original equipment. I complained and was asked to "send the phone back" so they could investigate. I decided this was all too much trouble, saving and retrieving the phone's data etc. I kept the phone and battery and just manage its charge better. I don't believe that Timpson's claim to fit original equipment or, the same capacity battery as the phone had originally. Be careful, the service is quick and efficient, but you may be disappointed with the result

Self service key cutting service is just a waist of time

I used a key cutting self service machine in Nottingham and when I returned home and tested the key it did not fit the lock. I took the key to Timpson shop in West Bridgford and had a new key cut. Very nice and polite gentleman inthe shop and I got the replacement for free. I think it is such a bad idea to use a wending machine for cutting keys and I prefer to visit a proper shop and get the job done.

Timpsons dog tag service is useless. Dont use it! The letters wear off.

Timpsons are generally good for keys and shoelaces BUT I am leaving this review because of the terrible dog tags that they now sell. These are laser 'cut'. The problem is that they do not last. The lettering on my dog's first tag wore off, so I went back to Timpsons to have another one made. The letters have worn off that one too! This was over 3 years. Now I am going back to a traditional dog tag cutting service. The dog tag service that Timpsons offer is a rip off waste of money. It doesn't work!

Watch repair - Branch 1719

Fantastic service at Timpson, located within Morrisons Store at Gyle Shopping Centre. Ryan and Joe were super efficient, extremely helpful and provided comprehensive information in terms of a watch repair. Would definitely recommend a visit and I wouldn't hesitate to shop there again.

Bought four dog and cat name/phone tags…

Bought four dog and cat name/phone tags last year and due to the poor quality of the engraving have had the info totally erased thru wear and tear. I believe i paid £13 for the dog tags. Overpriced and poor quality.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM PETE

I went in Timpson in Church Square Arcade in St Helens. I took a watch in to have some links taken out of the bracelet. Pete had patience as I could see him struggling to put it back together. In the end Pete suggested a leather strap, I agreed and a strap was fitted with no problem. Please commend Pete for his excellent customer service.

Poor customer service

Gentleman serving in the Nantwich Sainsbury’s was generally miserable . Left 2 expensive watches for a battery change and said it would take 90 minutes. When we returned to collect them he hadn’t even bothered to set the time and date on the watches which wasn’t a difficult job. If it wasn’t for the lifetime battery warranty I wouldn’t bother returning. Poor customer service.
