My late father had a pension held by Transact. Now trying to withdraw said funds from his account couldn’t have been anymore difficult than it has. I’ve had to submit more information every time I’ve spoken with them, they have made it so complicated and upsetting that I’ve nearly given up. Absolute disgrace of a company and would advise anyone not to invest with them. Buy Gold store it in a safety deposit box. At least your dependents will be able to access it and it will actually be worth something. Now May 2025 and still making excuses😡

Transact's phones are always answered promptly which I must say is a refreshing change these days...

Telephoned Transact and spoke to Grace who fully dealt with my annual SIPP withdrawal in a timely and professional manner.

Email dialogue with Ryan during the process to withdraw funds. Very professional; very prompt and extremely helpful responses to my many questions. The sort of service you hope for but don't necessarily expect.

Telephone call answered swiftly and quickly put through to helpful Client Service Manager.
Unfortunately, every time I attempt to obtain information online I have difficulty - the saved passwords invariably don't work.

I am so disappointed regarding my attempts to close my Transact Pension. I am in my late 60s and have been a client for many years and knew that I would need help to complete on line forms. I requested additional support and was referred to a Guide and even when I told Transact I still didn't understand they told me that they couldn't help, I was again referred to the Guide. I tried my best, my husband is seriously ill and I have been trying to deal with this alone. Today I have had my forms rejected and have once again tried to resubmit them. I was led to believe that Transact would help me as they have helped others. I am not IT illiterate - this is entirely that I didn't understand the technical wording and needed this to be explained to me. As of now, at this worrying time, I have not had confirmation that my funds are on their way.

Do not give one penny to anyone associated with this company. If you do they will wait until you and your children have died and still not return funds entrusted. Every single contact i have had with these people produced a new set of outright lies, and attempts to obscure.

This is the second time i have had to complain here in last month or so about problem ongoing for over 10 weeks.
Customer care is abysmal. Staff are uninterested in taking responsibility (in this case to sort a transfer of some stocks). Lots of promises to do this and that. Constantly broken.
Not following through. The common attitude - ah well i told that person, now not my problem. Even the team boss not followed through. Always sound helpful at the beginning.
Then when you call for 10th time the guy acts like why are you calling even though he just had email day before!
Tearing hair out as deadline is approaching.
Would like to be able to go to overall boss in London office, but of course boss protected by layers!

Recent example of excuse for not doing what promised "Didn't have time as i finish at 5pm (had had all day). I pointed out cold either have stayed 5 minutes late or just sent 30second email to say - sorry no time, haven't forgotten, will do tomorrow.

But of course didn't cos don't care, not taking responsibility or having any pride in keeping word.

Next report i will name names.
Hope they see this and pull finger out.

As a former IFA, I would say that the service supplied to advisers is 5 star. However, if you happen to end up being a direct client because you don't want to deal with an IFA any more (in my case because I have no need of professional support, being an investment professional myself), then you are treated like a novice and regulatory rules are blamed. The functioning of the trading functions using Windows PC's has also become problematic at the time of writing and the back up procedures are plainly bonkers.
I guess that Transact don't really want to have direct customers but there are always going to be a few and I think we deserve a better and more customised level of service, as we still pay our fees.
It might be said that we could just transfer to a lower cost platform like II or A J Bell, but there are reasons why some of us cannot or would find it very tedious.
In summary, a great adviser platform, but does not really value, and indeed may not want to keep, direct clients.
The reply to this commentary is similar to the responses I have received personally and fails completely to deal with specific issues, such as the fact that documentation supplied is inappropriate and to a non-expert would in fact be confusing ir even misleading.
In the light of what I personally, as a former Chartered Financial Planner with over 35 years experience dealing with multiple regulators, know to be best practice in blending compliance with great client service, I must lower my rating on response to what I take to be an arrogant attitude.

My experience was made great, by how simple the process was. I was anticipating being put on hold potentially an oversea call center - but no very professional.
