Conceptually great - like Airbnb but for pet sitting. In practice the concept works brilliantly - we put our "listing" on the app, a sitter couple applied, we accepted and the sit went really well. A... See more

Easy to work with
I had great responses to my request for a housesitter. They were all very responsible and it was difficult to choose. I am very pleased with the first housesitter, Sage. She took care of my animals while I was gone and kept in touch. I could enjoy my vacation knowing they were in good care. trusted housesitters helps keep the communication going, reminders are helpful, they seem on top of their business. I like it that they background check the housesitters- that worried me with other pet sitters. I am planning on using them from now on when I go away.
Trusted housesitters do exactly what they promise
Trusted housesitters do exactly what they say they will do - and very well. They were able to provide me with a number of reputable sitters to interview. The sitter I chose did a wonderful job and we are very grateful. I also appreciated the detailed information the business requested regarding our pets, so that the sitter had as much information as possible. I wonder if you could offer a template or list of important and useful information for house and pet owners to fill in and leave at the property for the sitter?? That would be extremely helpful for everyone. The only thing which pulls the business back to 4 stars is that I find your website complicated and difficult to navigate. But the actual service was really great. Thank you.

What am I paying this money for? AI garbage
You pay 100+ pounds and for each sit on top of that just to have some useless AI bot providing no help at all when you need it. No contact email provided, no actual human support accessible. If the chatbot can't help you (which it can't), good luck. The company replied saying you can get transferred to a human but I tried and it didn’t work after several requests and refreshes.
I hope other websites that aren't as exploitative get more popular than this one with time. What's the point in spending so much money if the company can't even pay some actual people to help its high-paying customers?

This was my first experience of this…
This was my first experience of this kind in the United States. I had done similar things before in Europe—after all, I’m from Europe myself. You know how good people tend to gravitate toward other good people? Well, I’m a good person, so I was able to easily find a wonderful family and an amazing dog. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever get to experience something like this again; it was truly an exceptional experience—really!
Abandoned when we needed help most
I am incredibly disappointed by the customer service we received from TrustedHousesitters following a serious incident at our home. We have been left feeling completely abandoned by a company we trusted to support us when things went wrong.
We returned home to discover that our sitter had accidentally left the shower running when they left the previous morning. There had been a burst water main in the village, and we can only assume they turned on the shower, realised there was no water and inadvertently left it running.
The shower is directly in our bedroom, and it had been running for approximately 24 hours. The resulting steam and damp caused extensive water damage to our bedroom, including the walls, paintwork, light fittings and soft furnishings. The room had only been decorated three weeks earlier. To come home and find it in this state was absolutely heartbreaking.
But the damage was only part of the problem.
We live in a rural property and rely on gas bottles for our heating. The shower had been running for so long that we had exhausted our gas supply. It was after 5pm, Storm Austen was hitting, our only bedroom was unusable, and our house had no heating. We had nowhere suitable to sleep and no easy solution. Our friends and family live approximately 250 miles away.
This is precisely the sort of situation in which you would hope a company offering home and contents protection would provide some reassurance and practical support.
Instead, trying to get help was an incredibly frustrating experience. There is no telephone number to call. You have to navigate the online chat, get past the chatbot and try to reach a real person. When we finally received a response, we were told we needed to contact our own home insurers and obtain written confirmation that they had declined our claim before TrustedHousesitters would do anything.
Think about that for a moment. We had returned to a water-damaged home, had no usable bedroom and no heating, in the middle of a storm. We were already dealing with the immediate aftermath of the damage, yet the response was effectively to send us away to deal with our insurers first, with no immediate practical assistance.
I understand that insurance and protection plans have terms and conditions, and I appreciate that the sitter did not cause this damage deliberately. Accidents happen. My disappointment is not about expecting a company to magically fix everything; it is about the complete lack of meaningful support when we genuinely needed help.
We felt abandoned at an incredibly stressful time. We trusted TrustedHousesitters with access to our home, and when something went seriously wrong, the customer service experience left us feeling that we were on our own.
If you are considering membership, I would strongly recommend looking beyond the reassuring language about protection and carefully checking exactly what happens when you need to make a claim. For us, the real test of a service is not how well it works when everything goes to plan, but how it treats its customers when things go wrong. Sadly, our experience has been deeply disappointing.

Great experience
Sitter was very easy to work with and very responsible. Home and pet were well cared for. This was our first sit. Hoping to find sitters for holiday travel but a little worried about availability. But so far, our first sit was a great experience
Trusted House sitters
Trusted House sitters has been a revelation. I have met so many genuine and friendly people who have stayed to look after my dog.
The booking process is easy, and to have someone staying in your house whilst you are away is very reassuring.
I have had a problem logging into my account today and the issue was resolved by the online team very quickly.
Great service and website
it's great to have a source that you can go to and find people who have been vetted. I think the whole idea is wonderful.
Trusting Humanity
The community that exchanges house and pet care for free stay and use of cars is like a hidden secret door in the world where everything needs a monetary value. Love meeting people who open up thier homes and trust strangers to care for the most intimate parts of thier lives. Seeing the animals comfortable in thier home environment while thier families are away is a real treat that I wish I knew when I had my dogs.
Our first time
After our first sitter cancelled, this one went perfectly. We look forward to the next sitter.
A very satisfied Trusted house sitters user
We have used trusted house sitters at least 10 times, and I’ve been very pleased with the service. It means a lot to us to have somebody in the house full-time, both watching our cat, letting him in and out, which is very important to him, and watching our house as well while we are away. We used to hire a company that would send somebody to feed the cat and maybe play with it for 15 minutes, not the same thing. So we were thrilled when we found trusted house sitters and have had many successful sitters in our time, no complaints at all about the service, ease of use, and simplicity of the system
Better than air bnb
Apprehensive to use the service but it was seamless. I easily chose a housesitter - they were as good as their reviews promised. I wish I had tried this earlier
Super good pet sitting app to connect…
Super good pet sitting app to connect amazing pet owners to pet sitters like us! We can travel the world with it!
First sit no problem
Found first sit no problem. Site has many opportunities. Only disappointment we experienced was not being able to secure lounge passes. The rules are too restrictive. Out of 5 Terminals they were only available in the 2 that we did not depart from. Furthermore 72 hours notice is way to far in advance when the Terminal designation is only given the day or so before the flight.
Background checks help host feel…
Background checks help host feel comfortable with sitters-good. Keeping sitters up to date on agreed to sits-good. What is not good is too many emails per day and not highlighting when you have a new messages in the inbox. I had no need to contact TH staff so I can't comment on that.
A Win-Win Operation
I joined THS as a Premium member 5 months ago and have already used their services 3 times, which has more than paid for itself compared to using a local pet sitter. This is definitely a win-win operation. The pet sitters that I have had have been lovely and have taken great care of my cat and house. I was lucky to have 1 pet sitter come twice! When I leave, I feel at peace that my pet is in trusted hands. The reason for the 4 ⭐️ rating - I would give it 4.5 if I could- is because the website platform is difficult to decipher- lots of clicking around to edit just one part of my listing, which can take some time and be a bit frustrating. Other than that, I highly recommend THS, it’s been an amazing experience so far!
We couldn't be happy with Trustedhousesitters.com
We couldn't be happy with Trustedhousesitters.com Each sitter has been 5 stars and we have been so impressed that we are going to work the other side and be housesitters and pet protectors.
What a amazing experience so far.

Money grab with new fees
Money grab with new fees! This product has helped me travel but with the new money grab of a $12 fee for every sit I am not happy with this. I have connected with people I have sit for and won't use their platform as consistently as I have in the past.
