Found first sit no problem. Site has many opportunities. Only disappointment we experienced was not being able to secure lounge passes. The rules are too restrictive. Out of 5 Terminals they were only available in the 2 that we did not depart from. Furthermore 72 hours notice is way to far in advance when the Terminal designation is only given the day or so before the flight.

Background checks help host feel comfortable with sitters-good. Keeping sitters up to date on agreed to sits-good. What is not good is too many emails per day and not highlighting when you have a new messages in the inbox. I had no need to contact TH staff so I can't comment on that.

I joined THS as a Premium member 5 months ago and have already used their services 3 times, which has more than paid for itself compared to using a local pet sitter. This is definitely a win-win operation. The pet sitters that I have had have been lovely and have taken great care of my cat and house. I was lucky to have 1 pet sitter come twice! When I leave, I feel at peace that my pet is in trusted hands. The reason for the 4 ⭐️ rating - I would give it 4.5 if I could- is because the website platform is difficult to decipher- lots of clicking around to edit just one part of my listing, which can take some time and be a bit frustrating. Other than that, I highly recommend THS, it’s been an amazing experience so far!

Great sitters some of whom have become friends and sat several times independantly of THS but all came initially through THS i have recommended 2 friends and i was introduced by friends all of us have great experiances through THS

Money grab with new fees! This product has helped me travel but with the new money grab of a $12 fee for every sit I am not happy with this. I have connected with people I have sit for and won't use their platform as consistently as I have in the past.

Very easy to use

THS used to be wonderful, but the fees and extra booking charges are simply not justified. It should either be a subscription fee or a per sit booking fee, not both. I have discouraged some friends from signing up lately and told them to go to sites where they will be paid, not made to pay

I like how easy the whole process is:
Navigating the page, finding potential hosts, sending the application and communicating with the hosts once the application has been accepted.
The fees are also fair and transparent.

This is such a great idea. We love leaving Buddy (our dog) with people who adore animals. So much better than the thought of a kennel. It also means our home is cared for and secured during our absences!

The various forms that you, as a newcomer, have to fill out are organized in an overly complicated structure. For instance, the shopping list takes forever to complete because you have to start a new sheet for every single store. The same applies to the sections for food and drink, and leisure activities. I also sometimes found it difficult to navigate through the different categories.

Conceptually great - like Airbnb but for pet sitting. In practice the concept works brilliantly - we put our "listing" on the app, a sitter couple applied, we accepted and the sit went really well. And with just an annual fee, it was very cost effective.
The only snag is the app is clunky and could do with some key user experience improvements.

With only one exception, we have been pleased with all the pet sitters we have arranged through TrustedHousesitters. The most recent one was outstanding in every way. TrustedHousesitters makes it relatively easy to go on a vacation and leave your pet in good hands.

We have been members for the last 3-4 years now. The service is a great idea however I believe they could be better.
Most times you ignore the small stuff that doesn't go well while your away. However every now and again you may take an insurance hit when your house sitter takes advantage by concealing damage to your property, doesn't follow the instructions you provide or they take things that dont belong to them. Its up to you to negotiate things with the house sitter as Trustedhousitters state quite clearly they are only an agent for housesitters, its up to you to screen people. You need to clearly outline everything or put things away to keep things safe. The average price of the subscription is approx $280 NZD per annum and there is options for either a cheaper or a more expensive plan depending on your needs. You can afford to be picky, so choose wisely, there's a chat room you can ask questions and a guide on what to share in your profile, and it's easy to complete your application online.

The pet sitters were very nice. The lounge pass that Trustedhousitters offer does not work in all airports or it didn’t work for us.

I think it's a brilliant idea to bring animal lovers and animal owners together in a way that is mutually beneficial. We are often asked to speak, teach and book tour around the world but in the past 1.5 years have had to decline because of no longer having family or friends available to help in our new location. TrustedHousesitters is providing new possibilties and we look forward to experimenting more with this platform. Thank you!

We have been using THS for several years now and have had nothing but good experiences. Of course it is up to you to decide who stays in your home but I really like this business!

The site has been very useful to us during our travels. It is very prompt and on the whole relatively easy to use although I had a little trouble with the initial sign up, I struggled to upload my husband’s ID & email address, ( I’m not sure if it was because I tried to go back to it after uploading my own ).
