Can't give 0 stars or I would

Can't give 0 stars or I would. Never have I flown in such cramped conditions. I swear it should be illegal. I paid for these seats in the understanding I could put my seat back without disturbing anyone behind me, I can't move my seat at all. I looked into Turkish airlines but for the plane we were flying but at the airport I find out they had changed planes. Nothing I could do about it at this late stage. I didnt have claustrophobia but I do now, the seat in front is about 9 inches from my face, I just hope their seat can't go back either or I will be standing got the rest of the 4 hour fight.

Miles statement

Miles statement: they made an error more than 3 years ago and now they have removed those miles from my account. I was counting on those miles to issue an award ticket for my coming holidays. Ok, you made a mistake, you can solve it in the near future. Maybe one year later... But 3 years and 3 months later you discount my miles because you are incompetent!?!? It's not my fault, it's your fault. It's not my responsibility to know how the miles are credited to know that you made a mistake. However, if for more than 3 years I have a specific number of miles, I count on them. I could have issued a ticket with all my miles last year and what would have you done today? Put my account in negative, - miles because you erred??? Unbelievable. If you err, it's not my fault. You solve the situation asap, but not after 3 years and 3 months when I'm counting on those miles. The worst thing is the complete lack of customer service. The reply random feedback that you have to open online each time, no continuous communication with one agent who can understand your case, nobody tries to help because they don't care. They make the mistake but I'm the prejudiced one now. Awful

NEVER USE THIS AIRLINE

We booked Turkish Airlines for a special trip. All was going well till they cancelled one leg of our trip AMM-IST 2 months out (not linked to war in middle east). Even though there were multiple other Turkish Airlines flights between the two cities they could not put us on any of those flights. Their system cancelled the entire flight AMM-IST-BKK-BNE. They were unable to put us on any flight as the flight BKK-BNE was code share with Jetstar and they can only use Jetstar. Multiple requests to be able to go on a different flight all were rejected. Leaving us with no flight available. You also can not escalate your call and speak to anyone higher than the call centre operator that answers the phone. Their system also does not log the calls against your account so every time you speak to someone they have no knowledge of anything that has happened before and you have to start again. Then at the last minute we are scrambling to find new flights. When we try to cancel our tickets there is a system error and they can't process the cancellation or refund. I am not holding my breath that I will actually see my money again! Luckily everyone you speak to has platitudes 'I understand' etc. which is most helpful. I have travelled extensively with many different airlines and never experienced anything like it before. DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Will never consider using Turkish Airlines again.

HORRIBLE!

10th follow up

No one has contacted me in 4 days, I have a case open and they first blamed me on me.

Don’t send me scripted responses, I need a supervisor to call me.

If not, we can play this game for weeks until your mistake is resolved.

I am formally requesting the chat transcripts and phone recording logs showing my identity verification and the alleged cancellation request associated with my booking. Specifically, I need the phone call recordings or chat transcripts where my identity was verified and where a cancellation was requested. If you cannot produce records showing I initiated cancellation and that my personal information was verified before canceling, I expect immediate reinstatement of my flight at the original fare and conditions.

was extremely disappointed with my…

was extremely disappointed with my Business Class experience on Turkish Airlines.

Considering I paid around €5,000 for a Business Class ticket from Bali to Paris, I expected a premium level of service. Unfortunately, it felt more like Economy Class than Business.

The disappointment actually started at check-in. I was surprised to find that my baggage allowance was limited to two 25 kg checked bags. For a Business Class ticket at this price, I genuinely expected a more generous allowance, such as 30 kg per bag. I was only 2 kg overweight on each suitcase (4 kg in total), yet I was asked to pay excess baggage fees. This was particularly disappointing considering the price of the ticket. Other airlines I’ve flown with have offered more generous baggage allowances even in Economy Class.

On board, the service was equally disappointing. During a 13-hour flight, the cabin crew almost never came around to offer drinks or snacks. In Economy Class, flight attendants usually walk through the cabin regularly offering water and refreshments without passengers having to ask. Here, if I wanted anything between the scheduled meals, I had to actively look for the crew and ask. It was actually the first long-haul flight I’ve ever taken where I barely ate anything apart from the scheduled meals.

Another disappointing point was the lack of basic comfort. Because of a foot injury, I asked for a second pillow so I could keep one under my head and another under my injured foot to reduce the pain. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a single extra Business Class pillow available. The crew had to bring me a thin Economy Class pillow instead, which wasn’t suitable and didn’t provide the support I needed.

The seats themselves were good, but Business Class is not just about the seat—it’s about the overall service and attention to passengers. Unfortunately, that level of care was simply missing throughout the flight.

Overall, this experience did not meet the standards I expect from a premium airline or a Business Class product. For a ticket costing around €5,000, I expected a significantly higher level of service, comfort, and customer care. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing Business Class experiences I’ve had.

Extremely disappointing experience.

Extremely disappointing experience.

Our flights were cancelled multiple times over several days, and Turkish Airlines failed to provide any realistic alternative to get us home. Each time a flight was cancelled, we had to book another one ourselves, only for it to be cancelled again a few days later.

We eventually had to purchase tickets with another airline at our own expense. Although Turkish Airlines refunded the unused tickets after a long claims process, they refused to reimburse our accommodation, meals and other necessary expenses incurred while we were stranded.

Customer support was slow, unhelpful and showed very little concern for passengers affected by the disruption. This has been one of the worst airline experiences I have ever had. I will avoid flying with Turkish Airlines in the future whenever possible.

Customer support is very poor and unhelpful in most of the cases. We've had a cancelled flight booked with a closed agency, but Turkish airline did not help to get a refund. They asked us to submit our request on the last day of the flight in feedback form to see if they can resolve the issue. The service number is premum, therefore had to spend £22 for a 40 minute talk. One of which just ended after 35 minutes with no response after so long waiting on the support who was apparently looking into our case.

JUST HORRIBLE. Even in Business Class.

Flew business class. Had high expectations due to previous flights with them and was I bitterly disappointed. Flight TK1975 on 17.06.2026 from Istanbul to Dublin - one word - HORRIBLE! The lady and gentleman in the business class section were RUDE, OBNOXIOUS and looked as if they were incredibly unhappy to assist with EVERYTHING! Eye rolls, gossiping to one another when you ask for a beverage. In fact, the entire trip, return ticket, was subpar. The food was not good. The service on all four flights in business class was lacking. I had one friendly interaction with a lovely team member from Dublin to Istanbul, her name was Miné. The rest - unfriendly, unhelpful, really gave the impression it was a hassle to be at work! I look forward to Etihad and Qatar getting back up and flying!
So sad Turkish Airlines - there was a time you were showing the rest of the airlines how service and flying should be!

Avoid them

I booked my trip directly through Turkish Airlines and was travelling from Sydney, Australia to North Macedonia. My first flight, operated by Batik Air, was cancelled due to operational issues. Since I had booked directly with Turkish Airlines, I contacted them expecting assistance with rebooking my journey.

Unfortunately, the experience that followed was extremely frustrating. Over a period of more than 14 hours, I spoke with numerous customer service agents, none of whom were able to rebook my flight or provide any clear information about what was happening with my booking. Every conversation ended with the same response: that an email had been sent to another department or higher authority and that I needed to wait.

During this time, flights would appear and disappear from my booking, and I was left completely in the dark about whether I actually had a confirmed ticket. No one could tell me when my case would be resolved, what flights I was booked on, or when I would be travelling. As a passenger travelling with a child, this was incredibly stressful.

After waiting for hours with no resolution, I eventually had to drive to Sydney Airport myself, paying for petrol and tolls, just to find a Turkish Airlines service desk and get assistance in person.

The staff at the Sydney Airport service desk were excellent. They were professional, helpful, understanding, and were able to assist me far more effectively than the numerous phone agents I had spoken with throughout the day. They are the only reason this situation was eventually resolved.

However, my experience with the customer service teams I spoke to by phone was extremely disappointing. Being repeatedly told that “an email has been sent” without any actual progress or meaningful communication is not acceptable, especially when a passenger’s journey has already been disrupted by a cancellation.

While I appreciate the assistance provided by the airport staff, the overall handling of this situation by Turkish Airlines’ phone support was poor and caused unnecessary stress, uncertainty, and additional expense.

I expected much better service from an international airline.

Booking reference UVSMWV

Booking reference UVSMWV — a warning about how Turkish Airlines handles schedule changes involving minors.
My daughter Nastazia (a minor) was booked on TK1177 (Mauritius–Istanbul) connecting to TK1829 (Istanbul–Paris CDG) on 25 June. Turkish Airlines initiated a schedule change and asked us to accept a new itinerary — but the notification only addressed the first sector. The second sector silently stayed on the original date, which would have left my daughter alone at Istanbul Airport for 75 hours.
I flagged this immediately and asked for the full itinerary to be corrected at no cost, since the problem was caused by Turkish Airlines' own schedule change, not by us. What followed was over a week of being passed between customer service agents, repeated requests for documents I had already sent, and no clear yes or no. With the travel date approaching, I had no choice but to pay €269 myself to fix the connection and protect my daughter.
Once the ticket was reissued (by me, at my cost), Turkish Airlines closed the case stating there is "no retrospective refund." No acknowledgment that the original problem was theirs. No timely decision when I requested one in writing, multiple times.
I'm sharing this because other families booking connecting flights for minors should know: double-check every sector yourselves when Turkish Airlines proposes a schedule change. Don't assume the full itinerary has been properly adjusted.
I'm still asking Turkish Airlines to refund the €269 change fee and to explain why no decision was given before I was forced to act. Happy to share the full written correspondence if anyone wants to see how this played out.

Pretty disappointing Istanbul airport…

Pretty disappointing Istanbul airport is. High cost of goods and less sitting arrangements. In the name of Inbound Additional Security Measures, Turkish air line were checking hand carry bags which were already scanned/checked by custom/immigration staff earlier. Big non sense for me as what they could find with bare hands if expensive scanners were un able to detect anything.
Air line must add scanner Additional Security Measures instead to humiliate randomly picked passengers as I don't want to open my hand carry Infront of whole bunch of passengers. There are other methods which Turkish airline can learn from other successful airlines to improve customer services.

The food is deplorable and the stopover doesn’t include transportation to the hotel so can be quite expensive

The food is deplorable! I don’t eat meat or eggs so for every meal on each leg of my trip I was given curry ! Curry 9am curry at 1am curry curry curry 🤢 there was a side side “salad” that was taken straight if the freezer the cheese was ice cold and rock hard, lettuce the same, absolutely disgraceful and the little sandwich they came around with left a lot to be desired, really poor quality the airline doesn’t even try to have high standards. Very inconsistent..
my stopover was for two nights and you get asked to choose what hotel you would like to stay in, never did I think I would have to pay 100 euro in taxis to get there. You would imagine that a shuttle would be provided considering the airline offer this stopover program.

“From Premium Airline to Disappointing Mediocrity

Until a few years ago, Turkish Airlines was, in my opinion, one of the few airlines that still combined efficiency, comfort and genuine hospitality. After my recent Venice–Istanbul–Bishkek round trip, that image has been seriously damaged.
What I experienced was not an isolated inconvenience, but the clear impression of a company progressively lowering its service standards while continuing to charge premium prices.
The cabin crew was not openly rude, but distant, inattentive and surprisingly unhelpful. On one flight, a flight attendant kept chatting while I was visibly struggling with my cabin baggage. I am an older passenger and visibly physically disabled, yet no assistance was spontaneously offered. I eventually had to interrupt the crew’s conversation and explicitly ask for help myself. This may seem like a small detail, yet it says a great deal about the overall attitude on board.
The most unacceptable issue concerned the lavatories. During one of the six-hour flights, one toilet was already out of service and another appeared blocked or not properly activated for a significant part of the journey, apparently without the crew even noticing. In fact, I personally had to interrupt the flight attendants’ conversation to inform them that the lavatory was unusable. The result was that nearly 200 passengers were effectively left with a single functioning lavatory for hours. This is simply unacceptable for an airline that still presents itself as a premium international carrier.
Equally disappointing was the complete lack of attention to passengers’ basic comfort during the flight. Outside meal service, no regular water or beverage rounds were offered for the entire six hours. If passengers were thirsty, they had to walk to the galley and ask for water themselves. On a long-haul international flight in 2026, this feels astonishingly poor.
What makes the situation even more difficult to justify is the pricing structure. Turkish Airlines offers no real premium economy option, while business class fares are often several times higher than economy, without an equivalent perception of superior overall quality.
The painful impression is that of an airline increasingly moving toward low-cost standards while still charging full-service prices and relying on a reputation built many years ago.
Professionalism in aviation is not only about avoiding rudeness. It is about attention, presence, organization and care for passengers. Unfortunately, throughout this journey, those qualities were largely absent.
