Knowledgeable, actual attorney referred by State.

UPRIGHT LAW, 2018, WAS VERY RESPONSIVE, HELPFUL AND EASY TO WORK WITH... UNTIL YOU'RE ASSIGNED TO AN ATTY. ONCE YOU'VE ACTUALLY FILED YOUR BANKRUPTCY, THE OTHER SHOE DROPS. NOW YOU'RE SCREWED, UPRIGHT WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE SUPPORT. MY ATTY IS, WITHOUT A DOUBT, A Shyster! OF COURSE, IT'S NOT SOMETHING YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN INITIALLY.

IT'S COMING UP ON MY FINAL TRUSTEE PYMTS IN A FEW DAYS. 5 YRS OF CHAPTER 13 TRUSTEE PYMTS. I SHOULD BE CELEBRATORY BUT WITH THE ERRORS MADE IN MY FILING, SPECIFICALLY REGARDING MY MRTG, THERE'S MORE AHEAD THAT REQUIRES CORRECTIVE MEASURES AND THE COURT DISCHARGE WHEN THE ATTY FILES FOR IT.

IN SUMMARY, UPRIGHT LAW WAS GOOD TO WORK WITH BUT THE ATTORNEYS AVAILABLE IN MY AREA WERE DREADFULLY INADEQUATE. I HAD 4 ASSIGNED AND SETTLED FOR THE LAST ONE. I NEEDED TO GET MY BANKRUPTCY FILED, UNAWARE OF THE TSUNAMI AHEAD!

IF I WEREN'T HOUSEBOUND AND HANDICAPPED I WOULD HAVE CHOSEN A FIRM BECAUSE THERE'S SOMEONE WHO CAN STEP IN WHEN NEEDED. JUST SOMETHING FOR YOU TO CONSIDER!

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATE OF EXPERIENCE IS FORCED. I INITIALLY CONTACTED UPRIGHT LAW IN 2018. I SUBSEQUENTLY HIRED MY ATTY IN SUMMER 2020 WITH MY BANKRUPTCY HAVING BEEN FILED IN THE COURT DEC 2020.

Well Done

I can say that Mr. G Ladd has been very good to me. As soon as we filed for my bankruptcy, I had no issues. We filed as soon as he received my documentations on all my outstanding debt. I am very pleased, I hope not to go through this again. Thank you, Mr. Greg Ladd, for everything.

Fraud

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because they took $1900 for me and did not find my bankruptcy did not help me find my bankruptcy said they were gonna give me a refund and I have yet to receive any money. I was told two weeks ago it would go out to a week and week and a half now I can’t even reach them on the phone. It either says your number cannot be completed as dial or it tells me that the number is disconnected or no longer in service to check the number and try again. I would never go with this wall firm again. Worst experience I’ve had with a law firm.

Hired Upright and assigned my case to…

Hired Upright and assigned my case to another attorney. Delayed filing at attorneys recommendation then had to negotiate a deal with a debtor because attorney would not rep me. Asked for a refund and attorney told me he did not receive any funds from Upright. After I told him that I would verify if he did receive any money and he then told me that he did receive only the filing fee. When I tried to verify this with Upright their rep told that as far as she can recall only the filing fee was transferred to the attorney. They still haven’t provided any documentation to prove it. I guess they think that I’m going believe that the attorney they assigned my case to works for free. Paid $2020 dollars for nothing. Very dishonest and totally unprofessional.

Criminals pretending to be Lawyers

Was informed in January I was due a refund for a bankruptcy I was never able to file in 2017. Since that I’ve been given the run around from this company sending false emails of checks in the mail and I should receive by 3/6/2023, and here it is the end of April and I’m still be given the run around. Also contacted BBB and the company didn’t even have the courtesy to reply to them or even contact me.

Awful! Wished I had never ever contacted them. I have cancelled my services 6 months ago....still waiting on a response for my refund of nearly $800. They will not even answer my calls now. I have to resort to using another phone just to speak to them. Run away fast from these thieves

I can’t put zero stars

I can’t put zero stars! Scammers and did nothing, but harass me and couldn’t even tell me what he was trying to charge off. He made rude comments several times and then said it’s funny that I’m letting my emotions take over. Canceled case and they took 2,000 from me. I have been waiting 3 months for my money they didn’t take to be given to me. Several emails and calls were made. Do not use this lawyers office. I promise you will be angry at some point. My attorney was a joke.

They stole my money!!

Omg you guys! Please do not get involve with them! They stole my money! I came to them for help, I wasn't sure if I should go through with it but the representative I spoke to made me felt I could trust them. The attorney they assigned for me was hard to get in touched with, barely ever wanted to talk to me. She told me when I pay the full amount and ready to file then she will look into my case. Few days ago I called her because I am about to be ready to file, she sent me an email to inform me that upright law will be closing and I should contact them for a refund. Confused, I called her office and her secretary told me that she left a message for me and it is the same message from the email with an added message that she doesn't accept new clients and told me to find someone else. Out of panic I called upright law, a rep confirmed that it is true they will be closing and he will let the manager know to review my account and refund my money. Today I received an email from the closing manager stating that I requested to close my account and every time when I called guess what? It costs money!! So alll of those time added up (I was on the phone for less than 5 minutes each time) costing more money than what I've been paying them! So they refused to give me a refund! I'm so upset and hurt by this you guys! I don't have money to begin with. They lied to me, deceived me and scammed me! They gave me false hope and took advantage of my situation! I did not cancel anything, it is not my fault that they are closing and couldn't provide the service they promised me. I'm so disgusted you guys! Filing for bankruptcy is such a hard choice, I wish I didn't have to do it... and now this... wow... it just shattered my entire world.

Updated: I spoke to the manager. She said she won't be issuing a refund because I closed my case. I told them I did not close my case, she then offered to reopen the case. I told them I don't want to have anything to do with them because I don't trust them anymore and they are closing so how is that going to help me? Anyway, she said it is not their fault that I don't trust them. Good luck you guys!

VERY UNHAPPY CLIENT WANTS FULL REFUND

I signed up for services back in September 2018 I was making payments for approximately 2 years until august of 2020. Once my plan was paid off they connected me to the first attorney who I could not travel over 100 miles to the office to conduct the hearing and also the representative said at first there would be minimal paperwork to fill out and the first attorney sent me 30 pages to complete. It took months of complaining that the paperwork was against the original agreement. Then they redirected me to another attorney, and she said she wasn’t able to file BK because that my process to file took so long that new laws regarding BK that I had to NOW take 2 consumer credit counseling courses that were not the original agreement. Then I had the hardest time getting the right classes that didn’t cost me another $40 on top of it. Then I had to take the 2 classes at certain times before and after filling so after filling I finished the 2nd course on the day of the deadline and 27th of December but the consumer credit course would issue the certificate until after the holidays on January 03 so the course was don’t on time per the agreement but the attorney even though I told her was done she didn’t get the cert in time. So now after all their mistakes and juggling me around to 2 different attorneys and adding more requirements to the agreement this BK was supposed to take only 2 years to pay off and file now has been about 4 years total and im very upset now because the cert wasn’t done on time they are blaming me and saying in order to proceed further NOW I need to pay an additional $260 in fees to the attorney to refile the BK chapter 7 and do it all over again. I knew I wasn’t going to get the certificate in time so I asked the attorney to please ask the judge for an extension due to the fact I have serious medical issues and can get a doctors letter to show I have a medical reason to take longtime to do the certifications that was not part of the original agreement that cost me extra money but the attorney said “No” that the judge might deny the request and then that would ruin my whole case and wouldn’t be good, but I don’t understand how having a medical extending circumstances is held against me when all I need was one more week. Im telling whoever reads this I am making a legal request ALL my money is refunded over $2100 in payments and I want to take it to another law firm uprightlaw has breached my contract adding more paperwork than agreed and causing delays, refusing to request for medical extension exhausting my timeclock to get everything done and then billed me if I want my case to continue, so now I don’t have the additional $260 and my BK is gonna take about 5 years to complete. Ive had a BK chp 7 before with another firm and it was very easy no hassles but uprightlaw has been a very big hassle they had all kinds of delays and adding to the already existing agreement dropping my case a couple times without giving full refund od $2k and only offered a $250 refund after I spent $2,100 to get this done. I am very dissatisfied with their refusal to request me an extension and blaming me for the late admission on the certificates that was their fault and now I have to pay more money if I want to get this filed. Im also reporting this firm to state attorneys bar association and consumer affairs for malpractice and fraud.

# DO NOT USE UPRIGHT LAW OFFICE…

I was using upright law to file bankruptcy chapter 13. I then found out I didn't need to so I told them I needed my money back. I was told it was canceled and could take up to 30 day to get my check, and I would receive an email when it was sent. On 1-27-2023 I was told it's only the 32nd business day so it shouldn't be much longer and it would be sent. Now here it is 2-4-2023 and I have not received my check or an email saying it's been mailed to me. 2-6-2023 will be 38 business days. I'm starting to get very mad just send my damn check it's not that hard to do. I canceled my bankruptcy 12-12-2022 I don't recommend using them at all
