Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Very, very helpful and didn't have to wait around for ages. Only complaint is that £309 just to look at dog in todays climate 🙄 is bit steep.

One star is too good for this company/service provider. In a nutshell... they had my pet cat under a different name when I went to collect his ashes. They put me through sheer hell the day I went to collect. Distraught doesn't cover it. They gave s card with my pet's paw prints on, not with four prints but with SIX! They couldn't even spell Condolences properly in the card they gave me. But worst off all, because of their complete incompetence I don't even know if I have got the correct ashes back. Over 40 days, excluding bank holidays and weekends, and I still haven't received a straight answer. Just being fobbed off with patronising emails, empathetic they are not. Pathetic they certainly are! They have had their money and they don't give a damm! DO NOT use this organisation if you can avoid. For a business that provides out of hours/emergency veterinary care they clearly do NOT have processes in place to deal with complaints more effectively and in a timely manner.

Vet with a very pleasant manner, and lovely staff. Was seen very quickly at past midnight, and my dog was treated quickly (and effectively). Expensive consultation, but probably fair. What does annoy is what was charged on top - highly overpriced ear drops, plus a further ‘admin’ charge for dealing with the insurer.

The nurse who took my call listened to my concerns for our dog. The reception was very clean and modern. The vet was lovely. Very attentive and we have a very long consultation and lots of advice and information given.

10 days ago I had to make the hard decision of letting my beloved pet rest in peace. I went to the Vets Now emergency service as the very same building/practice where my pets have been registered for 3 years. After paying for everything at the time I was told by the emergency vet in question that I could collect my pets ashes from the practice in 7-10 days. I have today attempted to collect the same only to be told by the practice that I have to go back during Vets Now hours to collect and they are unable to let me have the ashes. What is wrong with this company - it is a hard enough time but you are verging on the heartless! My pet's ashes are in the very practice that you provide emergency services but I cant have them. Absolutely appalling!!!

While on holiday in England, our GSD picked up a wee eye injury while dashing through a hedge. Rather than risk assuming it would sort itself out, we phoned Vets Now on a Saturday and were directed to their Milton-Keynes branch. There, we were promptly seen at the agreed time. All staff, from reception to the Vet were pleasant and helpful. The vet carried out a thorough examination of our dogs eye by sight, torchlight and dye, gave some inflammation/pain relief and with the injury turning out to be very minor, left happy that it would heal and that our dog would be fine which turned out to be the case. After a few days, the injury fully healed. Happy with the service received, yes an out of hours consultation and treatment was pricey but when your dogs are your life and you care for them greatly, you can’t put a price on that.

The vet on the Easter Sunday a man when we brought our very sick dog in was so arrogant when he knew we could not afford 2000.00 for her to stay in overnight. Said give her a couple of injections and bring her back tomorrow. He didn't seem to care less and by the way my baby died that night at home.

nice vet in an emergency situation , although i do think for a small dog just to make them sick by an injection and. Then an injection to stop being sick £474.00 is rather unreasonable, I do believe as soon as they have your dog they add on more and more costs which are very unreasonable. And as your in a vulnerable situation you have no choice.
Considering if i went my local vet the cost for all the above would of £80.00

Extremely efficient Nurse and Vet.
The Vet's diagnosis was 100% accurate and confirmed by our Vets the next day after further tests.
Very pleased to recommend Vets Now in an emergency.

Had to bring my dog in as an emergency after a piece of food became lodged in his throat and he was struggling to breathe. Vet Hannah and the team were incredible and gave him the necessary treatment to save his life. Everything was fully explained and was carried out with empathy and care. I felt safe knowing he was in very capable hands. Thank you very much to the team that acted so quickly and it is thanks to them he is still with us which I am incredibly grateful for.

Iva is the most loveliest vet and has been such a reassurance throughout my dogs treatment. It's been really distressing and upsetting and the service we've had is amazing! Thank you so much

I have no complaint about the vet.
The vet prescribed 2 injections and a bottle of pain relief, metacam
Charge for 32 ml metacam £54.00 ( can be bought on line for £7.33 then then have a charge of £18.33 for ‘fees’ for the drug. What are fees? For spending 2 minutes finding it on a shelf? No explanation on the invoice.
The inhections cost a total of£37.51. No idea of actual price but I have my suspicions. Again, additional fees of £44.16. What for? This is ON TOP of the consultation fee of over £300. I accept it was (just after) 9 am in a Sunday when I arrived at the clinic but your prices are a total rip off and I would never recommend you to anyone and suggest that others look elsewhere before considering you.
Don't bother replying as all you give is a stock copy and paste reply (based on reading every reply to this level of feedback) which just a waste of my time thinking you will add something worthwhile.
