Video Cottage

This is not a serious company. I agreed to pay for some of the works, but then they disappear and there is no way to go after them. I have tried to contact them, but there is no address and they seem to be like Mrs Doubtfire (many voices/names but probably one person behind it al), the only difference being that the latter is a well intentioned person. I would go as far as saying that this is a scam and dishonest scheme.

Avoid like the plague!! This company is like the Venus fly trap. You will be sucked in by their colorful website and charmful banter. Once in, they will lie at every opportunity to fleece money from you!! Finger in the air pricing and see what they can get. That's all they care about, which is sad, as if they worked hard on keeping to their promises, they might actually do a good job, but the greed in their blood will not let this happen

This website is a scam and has been operating for quite some time and it has been falsely using the identity of Orbit Solutions Limited. I am Amit Gautam, director of Orbit Solutions and have been going through the problems created by them for more than a year.

Orbit Solutions Limited has nothing to do with this website nor is part of any of the services provided by them. Orbit Solutions Limited has been incorrectly and fraudulently represented in all communications from these websites.

I have already reported this to Action Fraud (Ref No - NFRC201204104216) on 14 December 2020. I have raised a report with Action Fraud earlier on 24 February 2020 ( Case Number - NFRC200203507972) which was closed without any action.
This has also been reported with other authorities like Companies House, Regulatory & Trading Standards etc.

Over a period of more than a year I have received letters and enquiries from individuals, debt collection notices, lawyer notices, HM Courts and Tribunals Notices, Regulatory & Trading Standards Notices etc. Whole situation has put me under tremendous stress without any fault of mine. While I have been suffering due to this identity theft these scammers continued scamming people who then lodge compliant against me.

I raised a whistle-blower with Trustpilot providing all proofs but they seem to do nothing. I am not sure if Trustpilot will keep or remove this review but hope this is seen by as many as possible. These fraudsters flagged my previous review and got it removed where I supplied action fraud reference number.

There are some reviews here which describe true nature of these criminals operating from Pakistan and apparently an investigation has happened against them. Unfortunately, these websites are still running and they still advertise my name. I don’t know what else to do and feel quite helpless from whole situation.

And to anyone reading please use some common sense that a scam website who you cannot contact through email, phone or post why would the director of that company have his home address publicly available. I myself have been a victim of this whole situation and in process of closing down my limited company. Please contact trading standards and your your citizens advice channel to raise your concerns.

I have nothing to hide and my details are available in public domain and with authorities. To anyone reading please do make a note of this number or include in your reviews just in case this review gets deleted.

argued with me throughout.
Passed from pillar to post.
more account managers than people doing the work; and ultimately diabolical aftercare.

I even had members of their staff contact me for personal money lending.
Overall 2years and still incomplete.#
No handover
poorly constructed work quality following the evaluation.
Their offices don't exist physically.
So many better companies out there that value their customers.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Ordered video in February and received final version at the beginning of July. Had 5 account managers throughout the process and lot's of poor quality proofs along the way, always long delays and almost total disregarding our input / changes.

Despite a no quibble money back guarantee that I requested on 3 separate occasions, that was never responded to and service failed to improve.

In the end we received the MP4 video file and edited as many mistakes as we could ourselves.

Avoid at all costs.

The company puts on a massive front when it's nothing more than a one man outsourcing job to Asia. The quality of work is awful and they refused to refund. It took us over 1 year and about 200 emails back and forth to get a product which was just about useable.

I can't tell you the amount of time and energy it has taken from me in the last year.

Additionally their client area is extremely insecure, currently every project they have completed and all the associated private files can be accessed by anyone online.

Great explainer video produced, and clear timely communication through the process. Numerous revisions weren't an issue and we're very happy with the final result. Will use again. Thanks!

Ran a couple of small 2d animations with these, worked very well, and executed to a great standard for price.

I fully recommend Video Cottage for any graphic design or 2D 3D Animation. They were really attentive to my request when creating my 3D animated logo and they returned the final project quite quickly. My project manager Jeff Williams kept in contact with me throughout the entire process and was quite helpful in what I should do in the next steps of my business in relation to the Animation.
Video Cottage designed for me an amazing trendy 2D video. This new investment, venture was well worth it because now I have used the trendy Video on Different Social Media Platforms and the results are outstanding. Since the video went up I have already sold a few products, which was a challenge. The video they created which actually helping my business in increase the audience engagement and brand awareness as well. I believe I will continue work with them in near future.
I will definitely recommend them and I’m planning to have them to work on my second Demo Video.

Always very quick to respond to comments and requested changes.

Somehow I ordered 30s but at the end I got 45s and had to pay for the extra. I even asked them to shorten it... not sure how and why it got longer. Feels slow. I will have to shorten it anyway. Video was ok and response fast... still check your times or you will end up having to pay for extra 15s.

Really disappointing experience to date with video cottage. They market themselves as a UK organisation, but the reality being that they are based somewhere in the Middle East Region. Very poor quality of work and engagement from start to finish. In the process of trying to get our money refunded but aren't very hopeful.

Horrendous experience (ongoing). Our company initially contacted Video Cottage at the begging of this year to get some quotes for a project. We had every intention of using the company but for some reason they felt the need to spam us via by phone and email for days on end, putting us off from using them.

We made the terrible decision just over a month ago to contact Video Cottage again for a different project. The person we spoke to this time around wasn't so full on and offered us a seemingly reasonable quote with 100% guarantee of satisfaction or our money back. We paid in full by BACS payment and filled in the design brief detailing what we would like in the video as they requested. We received a document back of a proposed script which was very different from what we asked for so we re-wrote it for them and sent it back. We then received our first storyboard (late) which was completely wrong, we sent a huge list of corrections (copy and pasted from the design brief and script we have already given them). They sent us another storyboard which was almost exactly the same as the first one and had ignored pretty much everything we put on the list of corrections.

We then emailed Video Cottage to cancel the project and request a refund (which we were guaranteed before purchasing that we could do) and we received a response telling us that we were no longer entitled to a refund due to the fact we had sent them a list of corrections, which makes absolutely no sense at all, particularly as the list of corrections we sent was just a repeat of what had initially asked for in the first place.

We then called Video Cottage and told the call handler that we wanted to cancel the project and to have a refund processed which he refused to do. We then asked if we can raised a complaint and what their complaints procedure is, we were told to send a message to them in there 'Design Utility' and a manager would call us in 24-48 hours to resolve our complaint. We sent the message on 23/09 and have still heard nothing.

Stay very clear!

An excellent agency to collaborate with for your mini or extensive projects. The scope of coverage for any assignment is well appreciated and executed. The communication mechanism is top-notch and super active no matter which country you may be operating from. Requests & Revisions are handled flawlessly without any hesitation. Kudos to the whole team behind the project for their efforts. I'd definitely recommend getting your work done here with as their sense of understanding & professionalism.

Easy to work with, decent value for money

Whilst the price was very competitive you get what you pay for.
We had numerous re-records of the voiceover as the voice had no feeling or sense of excitment.
We had to create the storyboard ourselves, changing more than 75% of the slides to more suitable ones.
The production ran so late I only received the final finished edit less than 12 hours before the start of the exhibition I wanted it for, even though I had allowed over 8 weeks for production..

It is safe to say I would not use this company again.
