Dear Vodafone Customer Relations Team,
I would like to submit a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable treatment I received at one of your stores today.
I visited the store intending to take out a mobile contract that included unlimited data. At the beginning, the staff member was cooperative and informed me that a suitable plan was available for £14 per month. He then proceeded to collect extensive personal information, including my bank details, address history, and other personal data as part of the application process.
After completing this process, I was informed that my application could not proceed because I do not currently hold a passport or UK driving licence.
I explained that I have lawful immigration status in the United Kingdom and that my identity and status are fully documented through my UK eVisa and official Home Office records. However, rather than offering an alternative verification method or explaining the policy respectfully, the staff member became dismissive and stated that the company would not proceed.
What was most concerning was his attitude and behaviour. He spoke to me in a rude and dismissive manner and told me to leave the desk because he had another customer waiting, despite the fact that I was still trying to understand the situation. This was humiliating and highly disrespectful, particularly as it occurred in front of other customers.
I believe every customer deserves to be treated with dignity and professionalism, regardless of whether an application is approved or declined.
I would like Vodafone to:
1. Investigate this incident.
2. Review the conduct of the staff involved.
3. Confirm whether a UK eVisa can be used as proof of identity for contract applications.
4. Provide a written response explaining what action will be taken.
I am extremely disappointed by this experience and hope Vodafone will take this complaint seriously.
