Terrible network experience and service ever in life...
I would have loved to give a negative rating than 1, if it was possible. Such a terrible service, no response to emails/calls despite of promising call backs every time we call.
Used to have very minimal issues during the first 1 year and then the drops started. However, we kept on ignoring the internet drops since we were not too bothered about it then. Towards the end of 2nd year we realized that we had done the worst mistake ever by choosing Vodafone Hungary. 7 to 8 drops an hour with no response to our complaints. And then a fellow was sent over to the house to check cables/router/junction box etc., Wanna know what he did? Just did a router reset, confirmed things would all be good from now on (seriously, what the heck?). I've been a techie all my life and am damn sure that this happens cuz of 2 possible issues 1. A worn-out router or 2. Cable issues.
So, we went with the complaint yet again this time to the Vodafone centre and we said we want to cancel and to my surprise the Vodafone agent (One of the best customer service I ever received) told me to discontinue this service and go for Telekom as Vodafone uses Telekom cables in our area.
Didn't think twice, went to the Telekom store and took a subscription straight away, cancelled the Vodafone one the next minute and we lived happily ever after...
They dont even listen to you
They dont even listen to you. Always catch the wrong address, told you they cannot resolve the enquire until you insist many times. Worst experience ever.
Lack of professionalism and no customer support
As we are leaving Hungary, I called yesterday the hotline to terminate our contract. I managed to get a call back from an English speaker. She confirmed to me that, as we both agreed during the call, that the lines will be terminated on May 13. Until then, that was perfect.
Around 10am this morning, our lines were terminated!!! We are then left without a phone and we cannot place any calls.
The funny thing is that I contacted Vodafone stating my issue: answer from then: call the +36707001270 or email an address. I sent an email and I can expect an answer within the next 30 days!!!
Very bad experience!! I do not recommend consumers to go with Vodafone.
I do recommend Vodafone to hire reliable and decent english speakers
As a consumer
As a consumer, I unfortunately cannot recommend this telecommunications company due to their consistently poor quality of services. In my experience, their service has been nothing short of frustrating and unreliable.
Moreover, their customer service is not much better. When I have contacted them to report issues or seek assistance, I have been met with long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and an overall lack of concern for my issues.I feel that I am not getting my money's worth with this company, and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for their telecommunications needs. Overall, I would not recommend this telecommunications company due to its poor quality of services, unhelpful customer service, and lack of competitive pricing.
Change of service without a word
Vodafone Hungary had bought out UPC about 18 months ago and I had practically nothing but hassle from them. Multiple billing, no communication about overpayments, useless installer, having to call them back 3 times etc., etc. Still, as I live in a tiny village, their landline, TV and internet service is the best I can get here, so we went for it. And this week, they have taken off the facility of receiving channels in their original language, so my poor husband, who speaks no Hungarian is stuck. Why they did it, is not clear, but there is nothing but sharp practice in abolishing a service we had without notice. My advice: do not buy their services, unless you really have no alternative!
Very concerning business practice of…
Very concerning business practice of trying to charge me with new invoices, two years after closing my account and leaving Hungary.
They don’t seem to have any control over their internal processes and have previously sent me an email confirming I have zero outstanding bills, only to then send me a new email claiming I have outstanding bills to pay, threatening to get a debt collector involved or to take legal action.
They have no leg to stand on either way, but I recommend anyone considering using them to do their future selves a favour and take your business elsewhere.
Terrible experience
Horrible service
Horrible service! First if you need to call them to inform them that their internet service is not working you probably need to try to 5 times and each time you wait around 20 minutes till you eventually talk to customer service. After you finally tell them there is a problem they answer we know but we don’t know when it’s going to be solved. There is no net for a whole day now and they still did not fix the problem! At least when you know you have a problem with your service let the customers know! Inform them or are you just good in sending emails and messages when the bill come ?!
Literally the worst customer service in…
Literally the worst customer service in any company. I cant believe it is a global company actually.
No idea where to start other than I cant pay my bill. It costs 1000ft for them to send you one, and email reminders dont get sent. I cant log in, and when I ask for a password reset it does not send emails. Number on website for call centre does not work. Found one that does, guy told me to wait and vanished for 20 minites then cut me off.
shocking and without apology
shocking and without apology. they simply don't care how poor the service is, send workmen to "repair" the situation, even with a new router, yet the internet is worse and worse. currently, in june 2022, the whole service is experiencing issues, according to people i've spoken to. i can't even pay bills using the OTP app cos it doesn't send the notifications to the payment request in time... it's absolutely appalling...
Dont even think about going to the Vodafone
I dont even know where to start.
The thing is the internet is unstable. And no I’m not talking about the Wi-fi, but about the ethernet. They are shameless to sell this kind of sh+t. And the customer service was already contacted by several times and they did nothing.
Vampire Vodafone - they suck you dry and spit you out
In March 2022 I finally took the time to end a contract with Vodafone Hungary for a mobile internet service. The contract would end in July 2022 but the product was so dysfunctional I should have terminated much earlier. On occasion I needed the service for work to have access to stable internet. Stable it was never. I needed to search spots in the house to have an orange signal. It turned to red often. Green it was never.
Moreover, the service didn’t last more than 3 working days. It just stopped without notice and my internet opened a window where I could upload more megabytes. At no point I was working with heavy files. At the beginning of the contract I was told that I could not have a 1 year contract. 2 was the minimum. A lie. Yet I needed the service urgently at that time so I stepped in the trap.
So come March 2022 I called Vodafone HU to ask about cancellation. During my first call I was told I would need to pay over 30.000 huf to cancel. Around the same amount if would not cancel. Again a lie since their cancellation policy says you need to pay 81% of the remaining amount. Costumer support also claimed I was paying around 4000 huf per month for the service. Again a lie because over the months I had been charged for amounts between 5580 to 8000 huf.
Mind you, these conversation are recorded so Vodafone is so sure about their position and not at all afraid of being sued that their employees lie on tape (!). During the same call I was told that if I stick to the contract only my loyalty contract would end and would still would need to call back to ‘really’ cancel the contract. Really? A contract ends on a set date but it doesn’t end?
Take notice that I told costumer service I wanted to end the contract because the service did not work. They couldn’t care less. In fact, they cut me off when I was explaining the malfunction. That’s when I told costumer service I was ending the contract now. They were a bit surprised by my decision and told someone would call me back.
The call came and I was told I would need to pay 14.000 huf. A big difference from the previous said 30.000. I asked explicitly if this is the total sum and they assured me there would be no more fees (the computer had calculated it!). Up until today I have received 2 invoices. One for the amount of 165 huf and another for the amount of 20.630 huf. More lies.
I just hope the sucking of my blood will end soon. Vodafone HU never ever again.
This company is terrible
This company is terrible. Avoid at all costs. The phone system plain doesn't work. They advertise that you can call in English. Usually you can't. If you can even get through, which you most likely won't. In the stores they are sometimes helpful, sometimes now. You pay for fast internet, it isn't fast--and they don't care. You set up for a technician to come to your home and you wait from 8am to 12pm, the time they promised to come--they don't. Your time has no value for this company. Forget it, choose a different provider. This one stinks.
This company hates you
We recently moved to central Budapest (district V) and took a Gigabit Broadband plan which Vodafone is advertising everywhere. Instead of 1000/mbs we pay for, we hardly ever get better than 30/mbs as tested by speediest.net. The service also drops frequently, usually around the middle of the day when I have business meetings.
When asked to improve the service, Vodafone told me that 30/mbs is within acceptable legal range for their 1000/mbs Gigabit plan! So I asked them to downgrade the plan to something closer to the service they provide and they said the contract was fixed for a minimum of one year.
But wait, there's more. Vodafone's billing system requires a Hungarian phone number to sign-in to pay the bill. Otherwise you get stuck at a "Hoppá" alert. When I signed the broadband contract they the reps said they can't issue SIM cards because "Hungary is broken at the moment".
A few weeks later I went back and they said they can now issue SIMS but e-Sims will still be broken until next year some time. After a long and tedious paperwork process I went home with a new prepay SIM card with a new phone number the Vodafone had written on it. It didn't work.
I tried many things including using the card on two different devices. Finally, out of curiosity I called the number the Vodafone rep had written down and another Vodafone customer answered it. Vodafone had given me an already active number! Not only that, this customer said Vodafone have done this before, and understandable she found it frustrating.
I called Vodafone support (yet again) and pressed the English option (8) and was put through to someone who didn't speak English. We tried to arrange a call back... but as you would guess she said they can only call back to a Hungarian number!
Thank you Vodafone, you have dug me in a hole of your creation and will keep taking money from me without providing the service I am paying for. Your stores seem to be full of people who with similar stories (also reflected on Trustpilot).
In summary, Vodafone seem quite content to take money without providing the service people are paying for. This company seems to outright hate it's customers and by extension, it's own front line staff who has to deal with the mess. If you have a choice, avoid at all cost.
worst experience with a company ever..
worst experience with a company ever... canceld my one year internet contract in 2020. Because of the corona situation i had to leave Budapest. Still get invoices and mails from vodafone. Was also not possible to contact them via fax, facebook, phone, email.. wasted hours in trying to contact them...
worst company ever!
Avoid this company!
Internet connection is not available at least twice per month, middle of the the day, usually afternoon in the busiest time. Customer service is not available and there is no platform to report any problem. If you'd like to ask them on social media, forget it. Their Twitter account represents their quality perfectly. This is a communication company with zero communication. Well done!
Number porting refused again and again
Took a subscription in Vodafone HU 3 years ago. I try to port my number to a new operator with a far better offer overall... Vodafone decline the porting for technical reasons for now 2 weeks. If I ask them when I will be able to use my new subscription, they just can tell they work on the problem.... My number is locked by them, I can't use my new SIM. They force me as a customer that I don't want to be anymore : it's just a joke!
The service is forgettable
The service is forgettable, customer service is unusable, billing a toastily expensive, penny-discounted early termination during a loyalty period would become an honor for a usurer.
You better avoid them ...
Vodafone Hungary is not to be trusted
Vodafone Hungary is not to be trusted. They are a bunch of incompetent people from the CEO and all the way down to the store level.
Here's my experience as I had outlined in an email to Vodafone Hungary CEO Amanda Nelson:
On Monday, August 2, 2021, I purchased a Sim card with 500GB of data to use while traveling in the EU. However I'm unable to access the internet.
I provided my Sim Card number and its Pin Code
Tomas at the store where I bought it (see attached picture) informed me that I need to wait 48 hours for it to work because of a system wide software change.
I paid cash 20,500 HUF this was because the same system was unable to process a payment by CC.
It has been 15 days now and although I have a 4G indication on my phone, I still don't have internet access.
Can you help troubleshoot the issue?
Or refund me my money by a bank transfer?
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
I've emailed your customer service but I'm told it will be 30 days to receive a response.
I need the service now while traveling through Europe. In 30 days I will be back in my home country.
I emailed Ms. Nelson three times and never once did I receive a reply. Ms. Nelson could easily delegate this issue to one of her team members to see to it that this matter is resolved.
As it stands right now, Vodafone Hungary stole $70 from me.
I must also mention that on the day I was purchasing the Sim Card, there were several angry customers in the store whose service had been interrupted due to the System upgrade... or should I say "downgrade"?
My advice to those who are thinking about getting service from Vodafone is to be very cautious and in fact you might want to consider other providers... this advice is to all customers.
Vodafone is Void-a-fone...
Vodafone has given me inaccurate…
Vodafone has given me inaccurate information on multiple occasions resulting in extra billing. When I switched to Telenor, I asked Vodafone when my phone service subscription expired. They told me October, but when I switched in October I was penalized for ending the contract early- more than twice the amount of my monthly bill. Because it took my a while to understand why I was being billed, I paid the bill late. When I called to pay the bill, I was given all of the information to make a transfer, which went through fine. Then, I received a collection agency bill. Apparently, the bill was turned over to the collection agency before I paid, although the money was accepted. Now I am fighting to get the collection agency to get the money I already paid to Vodafone! Honestly, is this a scam?
