Where to start ! Let’s ignore the withdrawn ‘free for life’ service promised as part of the original purchase.
All outdoor cameras went offline over the bank holiday. No reasons given, no excuses provided, no compensation offered.
Tonight attempts to contact their help-desk is met with a bounce back saying only emails are accepted to post to that address ! What a shambles.
I am attempting to repurpose one of my cameras for streaming to local storage device, but Y Cam have refused to give me the username and password for the camera - despite it being mine !
Here is a company that does not even understand the transfer of ownership rights when you purchase a product. I am now trying to get MY information for MY camera using GDPR (where they are obliged to release all information held on me, which I presume includes my cameras and these pesky usernames and passwords)
Stay away. Don’t buy.

I also experienced 2 of 3 cameras offline from bank holiday Saturday, 12 hours apart, until 23:00 Monday.
Used the contact process over that weekend but had no response up to now.
I pity any businesses relying on Y-cam as it appears there is no out of hours monitoring or support.
Just retired after 40+ years in IT so know how support should work but now, thankfully, I’m retired and free of almost constant on call and backup. Y-cam appear to have skipped the customer comes first bit and retire out of hours and have no monitoring. I guess I’m just old school and find that surprising.
We pay for the service. I would expect a service status web page, perhaps I missed it somewhere.
Finally, there will be a standard message from Y-cam that will confirm a problem occurred and their engineers worked on it as soon as they were aware of it. Three days to recover the service fully is not good enough in my opinion.
Following loss of service for 3 days I emailed ycam on 25.8.19 and also asked for compensation for the lost 3 days service for which I had paid in my monthly monitoring/recording package.
Sadly to date no response to my email.
Customer service does now appear to be appalling, no response to emails yet seems enough staff to reply to negative trust pilot reviews.
Why should all of the many customers affected by the recent prolonged loss of service be expected to still pay for it??????

Sadly the same experience with me. Indoor camera working ok but my outdoor camera was off for two days. Tried switching it off and back on, pressing the re-set button on the camera, attaching it to my internet hub by ethernet cable and re-setting the hub, all to no avail. came back on yesterday all by its self and has gone off again this morning. Sent y-cam.com support an email but no response. They seem to be getting worse by the month. Last time I had to email them took two snotter emails to get them to reply. Not great and while I have recommended them before to people I cannot do that now.
Update: after emailing y-cam support on the 25 August 2019, I have finally received a reply yesterday 6th September 2019. 12 days later. Apart from the odd company that doesn't bother to reply at all, this is so poor as to be not worth while. They will have a list of all their customers emails so a broadbrush sending of an email to all customers explaining the problem on the day would have saved an awful lot of anger and upset.
Same story here :-(
2 cameras down since Saturday morning. (it's now Tuesday evening)
Will not reboot, no reinstall possible...
I've sent a mail to customer service explaining the problem and asking for a solution,
still NO answer, not even a confirmation that they have received my mail and/or are searching for a solution.

Had my cameras for approx 3 years and this Saturday they are showing as offline. My internet is fine and its speed is fine. Ive sent an email as to why this is. Has YCam pulled the plug on all us paying customers?
Seems by this site im not on my own!!!

Neither of my Homemonitor cameras are being recognised by Y-Cam and so I have lost access to them. I have emailed the CEO of ERA Home Security, but he is on holiday. I have also texted him so lets see whether he responds.
Its a disgrace. People rely on these devices for their security and the system has been down since Saturday with no-one available on the help desk

2 internal and 2 outdoor cameras for a number of years. All has worked well but suddenly 2 days ago, both external cameras have gone down. Won't re-boot, have asked Y-Cam what is going on, no response yet..

Uggghhh Y-cam Servers are down! Nothing is wrong with my equipment!
No camera recordings since Saturday, can someone recommend better cameras with working servers?
If this doesn't go back up on Tuesday I will need to go with another company. This is unacceptable! Can others post what cameras that they have that work on an ongoing basis?

Had our internal camera about 3 years and it has worked great. A few times the servers have gone down for a few hours but they appear to have gone down Saturday morning, it's Sunday now night and whilst the service status says all good, me thinks it's a lie. Probably won't be fixed til Tuesday as its a UK Bank Holiday. Ycam has recently been acquired by another company, is this the time where it all goes down hill and they lose their loyal customer base? I hope not. Come on, fix your servers and stop messing around with subscription plans

Worked fine, ok image quality, night vision broked afther 3 years. Only daytime now.
I bought Y cams in April 2017 under the free cloud support which they changed...
My set up
2 HD pro outside cameras and 2 internal cameras
One of the internal stoped recording after 18 months now only available for live view.
Then low and behold both outdoor cams went offline with a few hours of each other and are now unusable, emailed Y Cam no response... what a con both went off together,my router and system is fine (I work in IT networks for a multinational) ... Me thinks something suspicious has gone on what do you think.
Bottom line I am now looking for a new solution and just maybe Ring Wired Camera wins...
I would not recommend Y Cam .... Stay clear

I have 4 cameras and all have gone down presume servers down again but despite having to pay for this service Y-Cam fail to provide out of hours service instead trade Monday to Friday 0900-1700 hours very antiquated and not very good at all for the security of my property & home. Not worth the money I think I will be replacing with a more reliable system

Cams miss recordings. The phone app is rubbish. After 12 months the free cloud cover ends and it cost a lot for something that just doesn't work very well. There are much better systems out there.

Great piece of kit very sensitive but attracts the spiders so have to brush the lens frequently as the spiders web sets it off for no reason. But once set up with the zones adjusted to avoid any leaves or branches and the sensitivity turned down then it works more efficiently and only records movement in the drive area.
Very impressed.

Bought my y-cam a couple of years ago, I’ve had issues with it for the most part - mainly the inability to view live footage. I use it to keep an eye on my dogs when I’m at work but more often than not it just shows an earlier frozen image with a buffering (spinning circle) in the middle of the image, I initially took advice from support who advised me that it was probably down to a slow internet connection, I changed to high speed fibre which made no difference at all, I also updated the app. I have basically accepted its limited functionality as with a little persistence I can usually at least get a still image to check they are ok. Now that I cannot view recorded movements unless I pay a fee I think it’s now time to purchase a different camera, which is a shame because when it works it’s great, good quality HD image and sound, if this was reliable I would have paid the subscription no problem, I have no issues paying for a good service. Maybe I have just been unlucky and bought a faulty camera - who knows.
Was OK until they cancelled the free cloud storage. I now have 6 useless cameras.
I have purchased 2 of these camera's 1 has preformed as it should the other is no longer functioning properly, it will not follow the sound or movement of people, pets etc. I have attempted to 4 times leaving a message on the phone number provided for a call back, same old message (the person whom I'am trying to contact is not available). I have attempted to schedule a call back but it seems that there is no availability from the calendar that provide from now to 2020 an beyond. This company appears to take the money and says screw the customer for any repairs or follow up on there faulty equipment. It appears what seemed like a good deal does prove so well after any issues or need to communicate with customer issues .Most likely I will not receive any response , but this hopefully will help anyone who consider this product to look else where to a company who cares about there customers and the products they sell.

The third indoor Y-cam HD that I have purchased over the years, all easy to set up and perform well.
