Was not clear the cost of postage until…

Was not clear the cost of postage until pressed the order button, then too late. Charged £10 for postage for a cable costing same price as the cable it’s self. Ridiculous!

Fourth Camera

The new cameras are smaller and so much easier to set up. This is the fourth camera I have bought to cover my home for security reasons.

A good product.

Cameras and software work exactly as…

Cameras and software work exactly as described - simple and effective. When you can't find quite what you want on-line, dialling a direct phone conversation is usually hassle free and both help and clarity are immediately forthcoming. Delivery and payment arrangements are then prompt and efficient.

DISGRACEFUL " Y - CAM RUTHLESS MARKETING "

I also bought three for my Mothers house in France to keep an eye on her ! Night vision was rubbish - I could recognize my Mother but any stranger would be a hard job ! Having a Piper Alarm in the Garage also - all these camera's were connected to Wi Fi - however all the Y Cam camera's were on the ground floor within 20 Ft away from the router and they kept losing the Wi Fi signal - your customer service did little to get this resolved - I don't recommend this system at all. A Big company like you should continue offering the Free Subscription for life Service " AS DESCRIBED ON THE BOX " - ( Luckily for you I have all the original box's and advertising ) I only bought this system with you advertising this, not realising you would then decide to start charging for a FREE SERVICE . I have £300 worth of redundant camera's to your Ruthless Marketing. I also see the " Which Regulator is also confirming this " ( Search google Y-cam-now-charging-for-previously-free-cloud-storage

What an investment !!!!!

Absolutely one of the best items i have bought for our home, in fact these are that good & that easy to install i have just recently bought a second. I still can add another 2 camera’s which is on the agenda this year. You can save the videos & take photos on your devices which are saved for 7 days. Great for security + also for capturing those family moments.
The quality is excellent & for me, my 2 cameras are indoor ones but i do have one facing outside on our main door. They are a great piece of mind in today’s society....

My recent purchase of their internal…

My recent purchase of their internal mini camera has been disappointing as it would continually drop off the network. YCam has provided a great service by refunding me but I am starting to lose confidence in their new products as my external YCam is still working wirelessly without any issues.

Camera fine but then stopped working. Customer support relied promptly and raised some queries then said it had suffered a fatal
flaw so I gave up.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by your camera no longer working. This was in relation to a camera that was initially activated in March 2014, and has unfortunately suffered a malfunction and as it is out of warranty there wasn't anything further that could be done.

Very good, reasonably priced security.

Easy to install and connect to wi-fi. My only issue comes with trying to set the sensitivity to the correct level as you may end up with lots of clips or very few. The balance is hard to find.

Still selling the Home Monitor over 2…

Still selling the Home Monitor over 2 years on with an inadequate power lead connection - the power jack easily clips into the socket on the cam's lead, but also just as easily falls out or gets loose once the camera is in position rendering the cam not to work (usually a ladder length up a wall) - such an obvious & fundamental defect and so easy to recitfy, but no Y-cam has done nothing

*UPDATE - thank you for that very useful bit of info. shame it is not included in the instructions which shows a push action only

The power jack for the Outdoor camera is designed to provide a watertight connection. When you plug the jack in, you then need to push and twist it in. The jack will then go in further and provide a secure connection.

Slow query handling

Good products, but the company is dragging its heals over a simple request re the availability of a weatherproof, in-line power supply unit I need to install the outdoor camera I purchased.

I cannot believe no-one has raised this matter previously.

Thank you for your review. Since the Y-cam Outdoor Camera was launched, there has not been a weatherproof power supply available. The installation of the camera is set so that the power lead is inserted through a wall or you use an ethernet data cable for a Power over Ethernet connection.

On the whole not a bad system

On the whole not a bad system. But I still cannot watch live video on my Android mobile phone (OnePlus3) which could be vital if there was a break-in.

Long term customer but still not convinced

I've been using Y-cam's camera system since 2013 and rode the storm when they starting charging. I've got 4 cameras and a premium subscription.

Quality is OK but reliability is only just acceptable as the system has failed to record criminal activity outside my house and cameras often do go offline for no reason (within metres of the router so signal is not an issue). I wouldn't trust the system if I had a lot of valuable stuff in my home, but to be fair I'm not sure if many other WiFi & cloud systems are anymore reliable.

I'd love to swap my alarm system for the Y-cam protect, but sadly for now I'm not sure if I could risk it.
