I have been using Y-cam for a number of years for security alarm and monitoring cameras. It is easy to set up (with the Apps) and generally hassle free.
I paid the annual fee, which is relatively competitive market price, and receive 30-day cloud storage. I noted the clips could be kept for more than 30 days if it is marked as 'favourite'.
Overall, very happy with Y-cam.

Camera is fine & now working well - but delivery was not! Delivered & allegedly signed for by myself - even though I was about a hundred miles away - and parcel left on the doorstep. Thanks to an alert neighbour it was taken care of, otherwise there might have been zero stars.

Like many other users I fell out with Y-cam a year ago when they dropped free cloud storage at short notice. However, I had six cameras and so reluctantly paid for a 28 day storage package. I find the cameras and the storage to be good. The cameras catch good footage of most of the movement in their range. Don't rely on alerts (especially for external cameras) though. You'll get notified every time a bird flies past, or it rains, or a spider crawls across the front of the camera.
The cloud storage is always available though and the app works fairly well. I was able to use the footage from one of my cameras earlier this year to help the police successfully prosecute an attempted break-in to my garage.
I find the cameras to be well-made and reliable (they all still work a few years on - even the outdoor ones) so I bought two new cameras recently to cover another property. They are much smaller than the originals, just as easy to set up and produce just as clear images (full HD) even in the dark. The build quality looks even better than before. I have added the new cameras to my existing cloud account at no extra charge. I now have 8 cameras covering 3 properties. So for me the annual fee for cloud storage is justifiable.
On the whole I would (and do) recommend Y-cam.
These are great little cameras which allow you to view your house on the Y-Cam app. Cloud based storage without fees is the greatest bonus and why I bought this security camera.
Both my outdoor cameras have failed, one the night vision has gone and another the sound has disappeared, poor value for money.
Great internal webcam. Easy to set up, good picture definition and playback of recordings.

I purchased a pack of three indoor cameras and was contacted by Y-Cam to say they had a deal on and I could save money by buying the cameras separately at that time, so refunded me a large amount of money. Quality of the cameras is excellent as well as motion capture and replay.

I purchased one y-cam evo camera in July 2016 for a price of £129.99 from their website. It was relatively more expensive than similar cameras at the time but this was offset by the free 7 day storage . Last November 2017 after just 1 year and 4months, the free cloud storage was withdrawn. I wrote a letter to complain about this in July this year after the camera temporarily stopped working. The email was sent via their website , and to this day I have not received a response.
I am very disappointed on several levels.

First I was annoyed and upset that my useless camera wasn't working.
Then I was surprised and irritated that I couldn't submit a query on the ycam website via my account, as it quite literally wouldn't let me.
They I was absolutely livid when I sent an email to their customer support email address on their website and listed on the right of this very page, which immediately bounced back as undeliverable because I am 'outside of their organisation'.
Is this even a real company, or a total scam?

Hi,
My camera has stopped functioning in any meaningful way. It was fine from purchase in September until the beginning of this week (when the camera went offline due to the internet router being temporarily unplugged). Main issues are twofold:
1) I receive email and push notifications that motion has been detected, including a still via email, but on the app/website there is no activity recorded and no video clips to view
2) I cannot watch live. I get a loading screen and endless turning wheel which never loads.
As I said, things were fine before. I tried removing and reinstalling the app on my phone (which wouldn't have helped, as nothing works via the internet on my laptop either.) I then removed the camera from my account, reset the camera by pushing in the reset button on the side etc etc, and reinstalled it. None of this has resolved the issue.
As I'm sure you understand, if the device and app can't perform either functions 1 or 2 listed above then it is an expensive waste of time. I was happy with the product when it worked but at this point it is utterly useless to me and I am looking for either a quick and easy solution, or a full refund.
Having viewed your social media pages (which worryingly all seem defunct) and reviews on various websites, I see many MANY customers describing the exact same issues. None seem to have been rectified. I wish I had read these reviews prior to purchasing, as I normally would, but in this instance my father has recommended Ycam (in fact, insisted I purchase this rather than a rival product) as he has had two at his home for about 3 years with no issues and frankly loves the products.
As a final note, I have seen some of your responses on trustpilot etc blaming the issue on internet bandwidth. I have checked, and this is not a problem. My download speeds are fine and exactly as they were when I purchased the camera, and during the (nearly) 2 months when it actually worked.
Please advise as soon as possible. It is very important to me that I have a functioning security device in my home which at least serves the basic functions of allowing me to view live, and recording any activity occurring when I'm out.

Ok system when it works ok. Firstly I bought my first cam from ideal world with a promise of free storage for life, obs this did not happen. Secondly nearly all of my video clips present a blank white screen. I have contacted y-cam and they have acknowledged they have a problem (which has been occurring for a long long time now) they say they are working hard to rectify the problem and meanwhile I can download and watch any recorded clips. This in itself is time consuming and should be rectified by now, but they are happy to keep taking my money for a flawed service. Terry.
Great service, easy to set up, decent night vision, proper waterproof outdoor cameras. I've got 4 cameras now spread over a large area. I bought one that was faulty and it was taken back and fully refunded without hesitation. A great service that I would highly recommend.

They are very prompt delivering new cameras but are hopeless dealing with equipment that has stopped functioning for whatever reason. I have tried three times to return a faulty camera and have still not received the promised email informing me how I can achieve this.

I bought 2 cameras when the 7 days free storage was including. This was a key decision factor to choose Y-Cam
Now the cameras are useless as no 7 days free storage.
I just contacted the Customer service to ask for only 1 day of free storage .
Nice person in the CS but always replied not possible , no special deal for loyal customer.
The cost was the reason for not offering me 1 day of free storage .
Today I received an e mail from Y-cam with a 60 £ discount to buy a new camera and with a 12 months 7 days free storage , so if it s possible for a new customer why is it not possible for a loyal customer.
We were sold a product and service, but now i get a product and no service :(

The quality, installation and initial set up all work xtremely well. In most lights the picture quality is good enough to identify an individual. Access to the online feed usually good too, as long as the data or wifi signal is pretty good.
The only nuisance I have encountered is when installing a new modem and re-registering to the system without the original receipt. With some cameras dating back about 4 years we just don't retain paper that long now but would have thought their sales register held the detail.

Cannot fault the service - pretty much always prompt and helpful. One or two technical difficutlies with the kit and webview which seem to be beyond their control; one can only hope for a solution emerging.
