Been using this company for my home security cameras for over 4 years now. Service is impeccable and the tech response is fantastic.

I've had one external and one internal camera for a while and happy with the performance. I've recently added a second external camera and a Protect alarm system which is also performing OK. All fairly easy to fit, and monthly fees for service are comparable with other providers. But...there are some niggles which would go from good to great..such as: (a) power cable for external cameras is just push-fit coax and all connections I've had have been fairly loose - how about a more secure connector? Also needs fairly large diameter hole to get power cable through exterior wall! (b) why can't I select several videos then have them played back end-to-end instead of one by one? previously suggested to Y-Cam, no action (c) there doesn't not seem to be a delay function on motion sensors, so alarm is triggered as soon as I open door when returning to property instead of after a few seconds (d) the pocket fobs with Protect are clumsy, too big, and do not seem robust - needs to be something more workmanlike such as Visonic 234 (e) etc... So, fairly happy, but product needs to be hardened up a bit....

you can only watch 15 seconds every 10 minutes. You waste lots of time just re-starting.
I wonder what awards they won. Possibly the award for the worst CCTV in history

Dire, changed their online package to a subscription account, after I bought camera expressly because of their free service. Do not trust!

The camera and hub are good but the sensors frequently don’t work as designed, in particular the motion sensor doesn’t work . It’s ok overall , software is good but the add on hardware bits could do with a lot of improvement

Very good support.
Cameras are really good!
And easy to setup.
Helpful and speedy when I had a problem. Clear and fielded the issue.
Having been with Y-cam for several years now, I am pleased to say that I have bought a completely new system. Blink from Amazon. As with many others I was stunned when they decided to charge for "Free forever recordings"! Having paid a lot for their kit (3 cameras), this was not something I was prepared to put up with.
I have read their excuses for doing so, and that they are legally allowed to do this; but I have to say from a marketing point of view, they signed their own death warrants and I will be surprised if they survive amongst the stiff competition. It must have been a very difficult decision for them to make because you really don't want to pi** off your customer base which they have done very well, according to the many reviews.
But I haven't just changed suppliers just because of this stunningly stupid move.
I have never really been impressed with the quality of the images that the cameras produce. I had to replace the external camera 3 times after various problems and even now, on every single recording, it pauses for half a second which makes viewing very annoying.
One of the indoor cameras now only records in a dashing shade of purple, or, when you hit it hard enough (OK so I voided the out of date warranty) it turns to a rather brown colour.
The live viewing mode has a delay of maybe 30 to 40 seconds which is pretty useless (Blink is about 5 seconds) and it can take up to 2 minutes to actually activate this. So when someone is at the door and you want to have a look and see who it is, they have probably reached home and gone to bed!
Another disadvantage is that all Y-Cam cameras must be attached by the mains electricity which restricts where you can put them. Blink cameras are all battery operated so they can be put anywhere (within reason).
I don't want to be completely negative about Y-Cam. You are able to select 2 different areas in each camera which are sensitive to movement (which you can't do with Blink) and it shows the time and date on the clip (which you can't do with Blink).
For the reasons stated above, even if Y-cam had not changed their charging policy, I would have thought about changing systems, but the whole charging debacle put the nail in the coffin for me.
When ordering my alarm they was very polite and helpful . Alarm came within two days .
It was very easy to fit and the app was very good and easy to work around . You can always add more rooms or cameras to the hub .
Camera quality is very good .
The app Send text as and when the alarm goes on and off and sends you videos
I would highly recommend Y-cam .

I (like many others) bought the Ycam outdoor with 7 days free recording (for life of camera). Then Ycam (must be about a year ago now) sent out an email stating that due to now having so many customers, they had to scrap the free 7 days recording and start charging customers a monthly fee.
I now have a camera that is pretty useless. It transmits a picture over wifi that I can view, but unfortunately that's it. So if there are any incidents, I will have no footage.
Ycam sold these cameras to a lot of people on the basis that the cloud storage was free forever, then once enough people had bought into it, they scrapped it.
I emailed Ycam to ask if it was possible to use the camera with a NAS drive or other online storage - the answer was no. So they didn't even give people another option (which they could have through a firmware update).
I will be scraping my Ycam...
reneged on the widely advertised 'free lifetime storage' for the camera and replaced it with a paid for subscription.
disappointing.
One of my Y-Cam cameras lost connection to the wi-fi after a replacement of the hub, however, the technical support team at Y-Cam quickly provided excellent advice ensuring that the camera is back on duty! Just perfect. Thank you.

Had a case with y-cam recently, the customer service was good. I opened the case and received a fairly prompt and friendly response. I actually managed to resolve the issue myself, I was just being a bit impatient with the software. Nice customer service but thankfully haven't had much need to use them over the last few years.
