In all honesty it's a poor quality camera which doesn't work well at all in low light. The microphone is too screechy. Unfortunately I purchased 2 of these for the sole reason that they offered lifetime cloud storage for free. They have now changed this to a monthly subscription. When I tried contacting them about it they really could not have cared less and told me to go back to Amazon. Avoid at all costs.
Customer services quickly provided the information I needed to get one of my cameras back online (required re-connection to existing wifi signal). Thanks Y-cam!
Not happy with the withdrawal of lifetime storage. Now pursuing under Section 75 Consumer Credit Act with my credit card company. Seems to be making some headway. Let us see.

Equipment arrived very quickly and is simple to setup.
The alarm system works as advertised and should provide the protection we require.
There were a few initial problems with faulty items, but the customer support was very good and resolved these, replacing faulty items.
I'm a bit disappointed that the camera doesn't integrate more with the alarm, by triggering an alarm when motion is detected. But a workaround is to install a motion sensor.
I own the full Y-Cam Security System installed including cameras and alarm systems. I don’t know why but I thought the battery fitted in the wall sensor and was self charging. On receiving an automatic note on my iPhone informing that the battery was nearly flat. I contacted Y-Cam and of course they confirmed the battery required replacing. No problem. Batteries fitted for approx £2 for another 12 month. My opinion the best home security you can buy for the price and cover. Brian. Scunthorpe UK
Camera has limited functionality and is unreliable.
This is my second review - as recently we have had a need to monitor the area which is covered by our camera and have needed to rely on the footage. I have come to realise that the camera unreliable and has poor quality video, if it was new I would be returning it!
I have a home monitor camera which has stopped uploading footage on a couple of occasions - Y-Cam don't notify if this happens.
The Camera often loses it's connection although the WiFi signal is strong and un-contended.
The video quality is fuzzy - not what I would class as 'HD'. Also, there is no facility to manually focus.
The videos uploaded by the camera are jumpy and missing frames all over the place.
When live-viewing the camera cuts out or the video stream freezes.
Overall not a good product...
My son moved house found a camera that he had not used for sometime,
when he tried to reregister message came up that camera was already registered he could not remember username or password, Y-cam support came to rescue very quick response to email. all they needed was camera number and proof of purchase, and he was up and running. he is only going to use as live feed Cat watch cam, so no income for Y-cam,

I have had 2 Evo cameras for the 18 months, and experienced constant issues with disconnection and recently with inability to setup the cameras at all, as the Snapshot couldn't be loaded. Waste of money and no help or solution from Y-CAM.. really frustrating and a huge disappointment.
Y-cam are very easy to deal with, I have been using their products for over two years now. The indoor cameras are superb and the outdoor cameras work well on wifi, however the outdoor camera I have connected via ethernet cable seems to need re-booting every now and again whereas the wireless version seems more stable.
Overall though, I would not hesitate to recommend Y-cam to anyone, great product at a great price!
Great product but my mum has dementia and the cameras are upsetting her will have to send them back and see if I can get a refund?

I’ve had two evo and two outdoor cameras since 13/6/17. All was fine until about a month ago when the two evos started to drop connection, and increasingly go into red flashing mode. I’ve followed pretty much all of the steps on the help page to address this, but the almost final straw for me was two weeks ago when one failed again while I was away and I was burgled in that time. The outdoor camera is fine and I’m pretty sure it’s not the WiFi as the outdoor is connected while one of the evos has yet again gone offline.
This is really causing me concern now. I don’t appear to be able to rely on these cameras which I purchased less than a year ago. It’s madness that cameras which I purchased for the security of my home, will now only work on the basis I am home to reset them. I can’t see why I should start paying a monthly charge (which I know will happen soon) for cameras that I cannot rely on and which cost quite a bit to start with.
I’m waiting for Y-Cam to respond to my help tickets. I’ve asked for any any technical solutions to this dropping of connection and being stuck in red flash mode. Failing that, what can they offer so that they retain my custom and give me peace of mind to pay for the upgrade subscription. If I get a resolution I will change this review.

Having bought three cameras, in order to oversee my overseas property, i found the cameras highly unstable, loosing connection for no apparent reason at all.
Had numerous sessions with the company's tech support, but as they did not want to admit any faults of the camera's, the exchange ran south and I found there was no help there.
Finally, they decided no longer to update the software needed for the cameras, and as my system software evolved, the camera software became incompatible. So, after a couple of years, I could throw $700 of equipment in the garbage.

If you are looking for a similar experience, you just need to purchase from y-(s)cam.
Be wary of this company. Product/service is not that good. I have had two cameras for just over two years but use them only occasionally. Neither camera is set up for zonal detection. My experience is that they can be overly sensitive (eg. triggered by reflected daylight into a room) so plenty of false alarms, but can also fail to detect/capture movement (eg. when there is a physical presence in the room). Suspect the failure to detect movement is likely to be a failure of the cloud service to record the movement/notification. Fortunately, to date there has been no unauthorised access to my properties so no harm done, however, not sure I would rely on them to monitor something important. As regards value for money, I like many, factored in the ‘free lifetime’ cloud storage aspect of the Y-cam offering when choosing to buy. Without it I would have purchased elsewhere. Now due to my limited/occasional needs and the suspect reliability of the system, I cannot justify the additional storage costs. Thus the cameras are of little value, making the cost/benefit of the Y+cam offering very poor. So just be wary.
The support is really excellent. They replied within about an hour when I registered a support ticket. Antony in support was both clear and very helpful when he realised that I was in the south of England, but the camera was off-line in the North of Scotland. He got the development team to log in and reboot the camera remotely and we were back up and running within the morning - so many thanks.
Excellent product, really good support and resolution centre. Resolved my issues with minimum disruption. Needed a replacement unit due to the shipped one having corroded battery and damage. The replacement was shipped immediately.
Fraction of the price to ADT and other monitored systems but product is exactly the same.
The app makes it really easy to set up everything and the push notifications tell you the exact issue / message etc., even right down to which sensor was triggered and when. I also love the fact that you can name your sensors so they mean something to you. Point to note is that as soon as you get your access and motion units, make sure you write down the Serial numbers on a sticky label on the unit itself. This is especially important if your unit does not come in it's own packaging. The serial number is on the box if the unit is provided in it's own box so keep the box because if you peel off the unit from it's place for whatever reason (e.g. moving), you loose the label!
The reason I chose Y-Cam is because of it's versatility of being able to easily remove and take the system with you if you move. Also as I live in rented accommodation, it was important for me to have access sensor units that could be stuck on rather than screwed onto the doors and windows. Holes in PVC doors and frames cannot be 'made good' when you vacate the accommodation! Therefore it is a perfect solution for tenants.
My only other comment would be to have some extra features available on the app - e.g. the ability to store more than one 'primary' contact number and 'Trusted' number for notifications of alarm intrusion as this would suit a family better;
A 'timing' feature e.g. if you have the home mode switched on each night, then set a time frame for example from 11pm to 6am everyday.
I have two cameras and they work periodically. Initially they started sending messages that they are offline. Minutes later they were back online. Currently I have one that having worked well now is essentially redundant as it will not connect to the same router it was always connected to. The other records when I am home having been set not to and required resetting. So basically they work for a while, then stop working and require a reset. Currently one is not working at all and thus far no response from customer services. They are less then a year old hence I requested a refund.

Great products. Bought an indoor HD year or so back, last month we were burgled and thanks to the quality of the YCam video police were able to arrest and charge somebody. Easy to set up and not intrusive. Now have an outdoor camera also.
I have two out door Y-Cams which are for me the best on the market. The picture day and night with sound is amazing, great simple little app on my phone. Easy to download or add to favourite video footage.
Their customer service is great I emailed Antony Fernandez about the subscription and he got back very fast and answered my question.
I would recommend this product and it’s backed up with great customer service.
