My YMCA expérience was made very positive primarily due to the superb Tutor Abbee Cole. The face to face days and her support justified the time and cost I invested. I would however suggest the actu... See more

I’ve just completed my in person days for Level 2 and they have been really valuable to consolidate what we have learned in the Suada modules and put the theory into practice. I highly recommend having an in person hands on practical element, rather than a completely online course. The hybrid approach works well as it also gives you chance to receive help in assignments.

Reformer Pilates training. It was not the right fit, could have been avoided, did not enjoy this course and did not qualify.

My assessors, Lesley and Hanna, were incredibly professional and supportive throughout the course. They helped me understand how to structure and deliver a session plan with confidence. The workshops we completed were especially valuable and have really strengthened my skills.
Thank you both for guiding me and supporting me on my ETM journey.

Trevor Clarke was great, he delivered the content in a fun and engaging way, he made it relatable to everyday life that made it easier to remember the new key terms.
Ymca is probably one of the select few providers in Fitness I'd personally endorse based on their approach to provide honest information, no hard sales to buy into their products and services and no bombardment emails like other providers. I was confident upon joining, and now complete confident moving forward and happy to take on additional courses in future with YMCA and would highly recommend them on this basis.

I would highly recommend the Higher Diploma in Personal Training course (Level 2 Gym Instructing, Level 3 Personal Training, plus First Aid and additional CPD qualifications).
Having now completed the course, I am incredibly glad that I chose this route over a purely online qualification. The balance between classroom learning, practical gym-based work, coursework, and examinations made the whole experience feel much more rounded and reflective of the real fitness industry.
A huge strength of the course is the practical element. A lot of the learning takes place in the onsite gym, where you work directly with classmates to plan and deliver PT sessions to one another. That hands-on experience gave me far more confidence than I think I would have gained through online study alone.
The instructors were excellent throughout: knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping students understand the material properly, rather than simply teaching toward an exam.
It is definitely an intensive course and requires real commitment. Attendance standards are high and the workload can be demanding, but honestly, I think that adds a lot of credibility to the qualification. You genuinely feel that you have earned it by the end.
I also want to give particular credit to the student support team. Throughout the process, including onboarding, marking, feedback, and qualification support, the staff consistently went above and beyond to help whenever issues arose. In particular, thank you to Bubacarr, Nick, and the wider support team for all the assistance provided throughout the course.
Overall, a challenging but genuinely worthwhile qualification that I would absolutely recommend to anyone serious about pursuing a career in personal training.

For those who would like to train as a Yoga teacher I would like to recommend a face-to-face Hatha Yoga teacher training course with Annie Vincent. From the very beginning, I found myself looking forward to every Sunday session, it’s become the highlight of my week.
Annie is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, with a depth of experience that really shows in the way she teaches. But what makes her truly special is how she brings people together. Thanks to her, the whole group connected so quickly, it honestly feels like a real community.
She has a rare ability to support every level, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners, always knowing how to guide each person to do their best.
For me, she is a Teacher in the truest sense of the word. I feel very lucky to be learning from her, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone. Thank you Annie!!! Namaste ❤️🙏
