More Than Just a Mortgage - A Life-Changing Experience with Incredible People

I am a 50-year-old first-time buyer, and I approached the mortgage process with a great deal of anxiety. Not only was my deposit smaller than most, but I also had a little blip on my credit history that I feared would define me. From the very first call, Yes Financial proved they were different.

This review is for three exceptional individuals who didn't just do their jobs; they changed my life.

My journey began with Lewis McKenna, who got the entire process started with immense knowledge and reassurance. He made me believe it was possible.

Then, Abigail Cullum came alongside me. I cannot overstate the impact Abigail had. She was with me every single step of the way. Her support was so profound that when the stress and emotion of this lifelong goal overwhelmed me, I actually became upset on a phone call with her. Her response was not one of awkwardness or procedure, but of pure, genuine kindness and empathy. She calmed me, reassured me, and gave me the strength to keep going. She is an incredible talent and an even more amazing person.

Just when I thought the team couldn't be any better, Gemma May stepped in to drive it home. Where others might have given up due to the complexities of my case, Gemma simply would not. Her tenacity and determination in securing my mortgage offer were nothing short of heroic. She fought for me.

I had the distinct sense that these three weren't just working a file; they, and seemingly the whole office at Yes Financial, were genuinely rooting for me. They saw me as a person, not a number.

From start to finish Sue and Abigail were really good at keeping me up to date with everything, although applying for a mortgage can be overwhelming, stressful at times, I know they did their best to find a mortgage for me and always had good communication throughout. Thank you so much.

Mortgage -
From the start Sue had been extremely helpful. She managed to find us a mortgage swiftly, however the deal did not go through (nothing to do with Yes financial).
Sue then worked tirelessly in the background to find us another one that suited our needs. As has been said in other reviews she genuinely goes above and beyond and was available often at short notice and non standard working hours.
Her ability to make you feel comfortable and guide you through the process, whilst maintaining her professional approach was amazing.
She is very personable and i would highly recommend her to anyone looking to obtain a mortgage.
With the various complex elements to our situation that overall has been for 7 months or so, sues approach left me early on knowing i would not go to anyone else, and she has simply been there throughout with good advice and guidance.
Just need to get the last part of the process over the line now, and she is still on hand if needed.
Thankyou Sue, you are an asset to your team, and i hope your efforts are recognised by management.

Insurance -
At an earlier stage was put through to the insurance side of things, before i knew it, i had at least 4 people all ringing about the same things. Eventually they listened and got it down to pretty much one person to deal with, but then it just dragged on and kept going back and forth over the same information. To be honest left me feeling like i really wouldnt want to go through the same thing again with them. It is still something i need to arrange, however i will not entertain all the other add on sales now and just the basics with one person to keep it simple.

solicitors-
Those recommended have been ok. When deal first fell through, before i even knew it had, they had gone silent. various attempts made to reach out with no response. The same team are in charge this time, although i am a little apprehensive about how they will get the job done i have my fingers crossed.
