Review of DPD UK
Waited in all day. Had a time slot, used the app, followed the tracking. Watched as the van moved near my house. Got a message saying I was next. Then another message saying sorry we missed you. How? I was there, waiting! Contacted DPD, was told the driver would come back waited till 7pm. Contacted DPD again. Was told the parcel would now be delivered in 3 days time. Was advised to get the app - I already have it - it’s useless information. This isn’t the first time this has happened with DPD. When are these companies going to get their house in order?
Review of DPD UK
Diabolical day thanks to this company. I have the app, it showed my parcel would be delivered in a one-hour timeslot. Shortly before it was due to be delivered, the tracking disappeared, followed soon by a message saying they were sorry they couldn't deliver. They showed a picture of a path leading to a building that wasn't even mine. I had cancelled an appointment to stay home for this parcel, so in frustration, I phoned DPD, spoke to an agent who seemed very helpful, he said he had spoken to the driver, and my parcel would still be delivered that day. I'm writing this at 8pm, and needless to say, nothing! I tried the bot - nothing doing, as we all expect from that meaningless fobbing-off device. Now they are saying I should stay in all day again tomorrow just in case. Honestly, what a joke.

Review of Darwin Insurance
Shocking! I was with the company for more than a year, no problems during that time, then I need to add another car to my policy - I was taken aback when during a telephone conversation the company wouldn't entertain even giving me a quote! So I quickly cancelled my policy and easily found the correct situation with another insurance company; within days, I had threatening letters from the despicable Darwin saying I had to IMMEDIATELY settle my "outstanding arrears" - this was nonsense! I had fully paid my direct debits to the point of cancellation and had not received anything further about so-called penalty payments etc.
What planet is this company operating on?

Review of UPS UK
Waited in all day; followed the tracking on the app, several times the UPS van was within yards of my house, but never delivered. Eventually, the tracking disappeared and a message was left saying the address was incorrect - rubbish!

Utterly false company. Nothing genuine about it- they want to sanitise everything you say to be sycophantic and keep on the good side of the big brother companies. Don’t waste your time giving so-called reviews, they will be watered down or not published at all. Nonsense.

Review of Paypal
I had to open a dispute with BUYITDIRECT in January 24 - I won the case, but it took THREE MONTHS and many flaws from Paypal before that happened, though of course, I'm grateful they found in my favour in the end.
The real snag - and terrible catch 22 - was that Paypal ordered me to return the item - a TV - to Buyitdirect - in order to proceed with the case. Buyitdirect would not arrange collection or send a label, because, they said, a case with Paypal meant they could not take any action. This meant my only course of action was to pay for the return myself. This cost more than half the original cost of the TV, but I assumed this money would be returned to me, particularly if I won the case. I was wrong - although I did win the case, Paypal insisted that they do not pay for the cost of returning goods, and Buyitdirect say they could not collect while a dispute was ongoing, and that the choice to return the goods (and pay for them) was mine! Obviously, this is logic being turned on its head, and neither party is blameless in this fiasco.
My only recourse is to take BuyitDirect to court or perhaps via the ombudsman first, particularly as the Consumer Act (2015) states clearly that the seller MUST pay the costs of returning damaged goods, not the customer.
But PAYPAL are hardly blameless in this fiasco, putting the customer - Me! - in a Catch 22 situation.
OTHER CUSTOMERS OF PAYPAL (and BUYITDIRECT!) BEWARE!!!!!!
Review of Buy It Direct
VERY DISAPPOINTED with BuyitDirect; have been a customer for several years, bought a TV which arrived damaged, thought it would be a simple matter of exchange, but the company said I must have caused the damage myself, and refused a refund or the issue of a collection/return label, which meant I had to open a dispute via Paypal. The dispute eventually was found in my favour, and I received a full refund for the TV, but BuyitDirect have refused to reimburse me for the cost of sending back the TV to them, which was a condition imposed by Paypal to resolve the dispute - Catch22!
Now Buyitdirect are saying it was MY choice to pay for the return of the damaged goods, and Paypal say it's not part of their policy to issued a refund for postage/courier costs - doesn't that sound like something stinks! The cost of postage/courier works out to more than half the original cost of the TV! My only course now is to take this the legal route, invoking The Consumer Act 2015, which states that the seller MUST pay the costs of returning damaged or unsatisfactory goods to them.
Let's see what happens with that - I'm sure that the courts will find in my favour, but I strongly advise EVERYONE not to touch BUYITDIRECT with a bargepole!
BE WARNED!!!!!!

Review of DPD UK
Lost 3 parcels in a row. Failed to deliver a fourth. Also failed to follow up these failures and make any kind of notification or rectification. The app is absolutely pointless, tracking is a pretence, contact- as with most customer services these days- like drawing teeth, nigh on impossible. After a long drawn-out struggle to reach someone, the end result is….they don’t know anything either, suggest I contact the seller….what nonsense! Beginning to challenge EVRI (HERPES) as the worst carrier in the UK.
Review of The AA Breakdown Cover
The mechanical/recovery part is excellent; the waiting time is terrible - only twice recently have I called on the AA for support, both rescues took more than 4 hours before help arrived. One time was close to home, so some delay was perhaps understandable due to priority needs, but the other time was in the heart of the City in the middle of the night - highly unsatisfactory!

Review of Caribou
Terrible service. 9.43am, I had a message saying the driver would deliver between 1530 and 1730; good, I thought, I'll just go out to the shops. As I walked out the door, I had another message saying the driver had attempted delivery and failed because the address was wrong - he included a photo of the label - the address was CORRECT! Caribou included a phone number "in case of problems" - ansaphone only. I left several messages, sent several emails - nothing. I can't believe he was outside my house, and couldn't deliver! And no way to reach him till it was too late (if ever!). Now presumably the driver will come back again another day - probably when I'm not in - and ATTEMPT to deliver to the wrong address again! Diabolical nonsense!
Review of Yodel by InPost
Absolutely diabolical. Had an email saying delivery would be that day, then silence. Finally looked up tracking, to discover that the driver had supposedly tried to deliver, and had left a green card - neither was true. I was told I could call the driver, and given a number - the number was unobtainable, the phone switched off; sent a text - nothing. Tried to phone Yodel, got an automated voice which suggested I try tracking, and gave me a link - are you joking???!!!! After a long time waiting, I got through to someone on the webchat. I was told the driver had tried to deliver to the wrong place, and would deliver tomorrow. I told the person to tell the driver to phone me, he said the drivers don't carry phones - then why give out a number to us to phone??!!! More nonsense! Next day - silence. Again, went through all the same performance, to be told that the parcel would be delivered sometime soon - what catch 22 rubbish! Tried Webchat a third time - the agent tried to helpful, but if anything, I knew more by this time than they did! A truly diabolical service, not just in delivery, but in contact and organisation. Stay well clear if you can!
