Beware of taking out a policy for family!

I took out travel insurance for my son, because he was travelling to the U.S.A, where they don't have any reciprocal health agreements.

This year the policy auto renewed. Since my son is not planning to travel to the U.S.A this year, there is no requirement for the policy. However, Staysure auto renewed the policy (without my permission or consulting me). When I contacted them to ask them to cancel the auto renewal, they said they could not do that as the policy was not protecting me. As the person who set the policy up and paid for it, I apparently have no right to cancel the policy. So, I am being forced to pay for an auto renewal (that I did not sign up for) of a policy that is not required. The only way I can cancel this, is to ask my son (who is autistic), to compose and send an email themselves to Staysure asking them to cancel this auto renewal. This is a ludicrous situation. As the policy creator and bill payer, where are my rights?

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your review, I am sorry that you are unhappy with us. Automatic renewals is applicable for all customers who purchase an annual multi trip policy, you would have been offered this option at the time of booking by the agent who dealt with your call, or on the end stage of the website quotation.

You can opt out of auto renewal at any point. We also send renewal reminders at days 31 and 11 before the renewal is due to let you know when the money will be taken and how much it will be, giving you the option to opt out at this stage also. These emails have been sent and opened.

We are regulated by the financial conduct authority and are compliant with data protection laws, we can only cancel a policy for the person who is listed as the organiser of the policy.

When obtaining a quote online, you would add your own information as the organiser and then we will ask if you are also travelling, if you click no, it then opens up the information to add details of the traveller/s.

I do apologise for any confusion caused with this. You can request cancellation of the policy online. This would need to come from the email address registered under the mystaysure account and the organiser name, within 14 days of the renewal.

Billing is not very clear

Billing is not very clear. It appeared I was paying £15/month over my agreement, but I believe this is for the first partial month and the second full month. It could have been explained better n the bill

Same PIN

I had to cancel my gym membership at Camberley to rejoin with MyVitality. I was very pleased that I have the same PIN.
Now I no longer live in Camberley, my nearest gym is Alton or Aldershot. I visited the Alton gym today and was welcomed by a very lovely lady called Ali. I was quite dissapointed by the lack of equipment and facilities in Alton. i appreciate this gym is new, so I hope it improves over time. I was previously at Camberley which has significantly more equipment and much better changing/showering facilities despite it being around the same size as Alton. As I now have multi-gym membership, I will at least be able to use Camberley from time to time. Aldershot seems to have better changing facilities than Alton, but Camberley is nicer than either in my opinion.

Added unwanted extras to bill

I've only just set up an account, so I can't vouch for their broadband. However, I assume it will be exactly the same as NOW was since it comes down the same telephone line. I didn't select any extras, but they added Onestream Assured (First 2 months free, then £5/month) anyway. I now need to remember to cancel this before I start paying for it. The 3 stars are based putrely on this as I expect free support and no extras that I didn't select added to my bill.

Good price for insulation

Good price for insulation. The insulation arrived in good condition and on time.

The only downside was that I requested a small truck as I live up a lane with overhanging trees. The first driver refused to come up our lane. The second made it as far as next door where I had to ferry the bales in and on my car the rest of the way. Both drivers came in very large trucks

Very noisy oil filled radiators

Received two oil filled radiators on time and as expected. However, they make a VERY loud clanking and clicking sound when warming or cooling. My tenant has asked that I remove this heater from their flat because of the loud noises it makes. I initially thought that the brackets may be causing this as the heater expands and contracts, however, it makes the sounds whether it is on the brackets or not. I have passed the returns window so now am left with two costly radiators that I cannot use.
I left reviews on the OnBuy website for the radiator, but they never get published and stay as Pending. This is unhelpful for buyers as they won't get the info they need before making this purchase

I am happy to say that the noisy radiator was replaced FOC by the vendor. Many thanks to them

OK service

OK service. Anthony tends to use 10 words when 5 or less would do. Had to correct the Sale Price on multiple occasions. Late completion cost me an extra £11k in SDLT.
I am not blaming the late completion on Setfords, but the mistakes and consequential delays were certainly a contributing factor

Technician was unable to diagnose issue…

Technician was unable to diagnose issue and did not send any info or ECU error codes to me as requested. He suspected a slipped cam chain was the issue. In my RAC portal there is no record of this incident or any info that could help me with my repairs. What is the point of the portal if not for adding useful diagnostic info?
