I had my roof done

I had my roof done, and tried to contact ref getting tiles fallowing of fixed. I was advised by the company to seek elsewhere to get it fixed to be advised that my roof battens are all to short and my roof tiles and not safe. I tried to contact them to get matter resolved and asked for details of the roofer. Been given the name but now being ignored. BEWARE female office manager has open business in her name and is partial responsibility for hounding us for extra money which we where told was no big materials (obviously not) called 5star contracts. She contacted me by bark to try and con me further. They say they will be in contact mid sept which I don’t believe as I have been told so many lies. I think every needs to push for legal action against these people, they need to face the courts and be prosecuted to the full extent for trauma they have caused family’s and taking there hard earned cash. Yes don’t know how these people can sleep at night !

The story is unchanged

The story is unchanged, have made £7200 as advance payment in june for a conservatory promised to be delivered in 6 to 8 weeks. It has been 2.5 months since and counting with no work on the ground. Phone and emails are unanswered with the latest that their accounts have been frozen until mid of September. They are still unreachable and am hoping for a miracle to get this sorted. Don't bite this company, i am wondering how and when will my money be refunded forget about enjoying the winter sun from my conservatory.

dont pay any money to these con men and woman

1a contracts had good reviews a couple of month ago so we decided to go with them to do a small extention to the back of our house with a £2450 deposit and they would be arranging everything for us,17 weeks have passed with numerous phone calls with no answer,i have managed to get through to them on a couple of occasions,i contacted the council reguarding the plans for my extention they said it had been processed but they would not release as they are waiting on payment then yesterday out of the blue 1a contracts phoned me saying they have a problem with their bank accounts and could i pay them the money for the plan from the council and they would take it from the final bill so obviously i said no when i confronted the caller reguarding the problem with their bank account the caller said there wasnt a problem when i tried to dig a little bit deeper they hung up the phone on me,so i tried to phone back and now the phone number is unabtainable so if i come across the owner of 1a contracts we will be having words

DEEPLY DISTRESSED

I am deeply distressed that TrustPilot have removed my posts but not explained why. I have sent them my Paperwork too.

Anyway, over a year ago 1A Contracts came and sold us a Conservatory, Downstairs disabled toilet and new kitchen.

Today - no Kitchen, the Company they bigged up as their partner was already being struck off before 1A took our money.

No toilet - a damaged front porch left open to the elements.

No conservatory - a no man’s land of inadequate foundations and non vertical dwarf walls plus rubble, a destroyed garden ….

No response to the formal letters written. No calls received. No specific Correspondence whatsoever.

It is now well past the 30 days they claimed the refunds would be processed.

This is seriously bad!

Looking for people in Dundee area to…

1A Contracts demanded £8,000.00 of my money, refused to do any more work after digging a trench round my garden which I believe was contrary to several health and safety regulations. 1A refused to refund any of my money. It appears the owner of 1A Contracts Ltd may now be trading as 5 Star Contracts Ltd with a former employee of 1A Contracts as director.

£5000 deposit and no work done

I have been waiting for windows and doors to be installed by 1a contracts. They have had £5000 deposit from us for a year now and no work has been started, as far as i am aware the materials have not even been ordered. They spent months giving excuses about covid so we let this go as it could have been genuine. There has been very limited contact from them which is usually lies giving us assurance that the work will be done just for them to send someone else out to measure which happened 5 times. Due to family issues i have not been pursuing this for the last few months but now have found out that they are under investigation only because i noticed their facebook page and website now do not exist. I have looked at the reviews on here and seen 1a contracts replying stating that all customers have been contacted which is another lie as if i did not look up the facebook page i would have had no idea this was going on.

We have paid a 5k deposit for Windows over a year ago and still no windows.

Lie after lie about our windows being ready but because of covid it can't happen. Promised call after call with update from malek, still nothing.

Doesn't look hopeful with all the reviews. Does anyone at 1a want to take responsibility for this?

1 A contracts all scammers and thiefs

like everyone this company has defrauded me of my hard end money. I paid £4600 for an extension on the 05/09/2021 and promised work will start on the 01/09/2021. There was communication initially then no more calls. All emails bouncing back. The guy Jake that came to my house is know informing me that he no longer works for the company and that the company owes him slot of money.

Rebecca ended up calling promising me that my Job will be done and and that the reviews are all untrue gave me the email of admin and the responses are all we will get back to you in 30days. I am left will no explanation and no one to speak to with respect to refunds. I just what a.refun to be able to complete my project. Surely this thief's need to be locked up before they continue to extort funds from people. Danielle Ferguson Is now the managing director of 5 Star contract. The biggest scamming chain I have ever seen. I have reported to action Fraud, trading standards and my bank. Hopefully something can be done to enable me recovery funds. This is my hard end money.

This is a genuine experience

This is a genuine experience
Do not use this company!! We paid a deposit back in May for an extension. We have had nothing but lies from this company. Various Start dates given (i think just to get me off the phone) then excuse after excuse! Contacted trading standards and followed procedures as advised and sent letters. 1A contracts have not acknowledged any of the letters, which were sent recorded delivery. Please make sure they’re sent to the correct address cause if you go by the postcode that’s on their emails it has a different postcode so your letters will get returned.
I began to notice more & more negative reviews going up on trust pilot and decided to let others know of our experience! I was immediately contacted by 1A contracts via email asking me to remove my review and they would be in touch to resolve the situation. I did as they asked and not had ANY contact! So I decided to put my review back up.
The manager has continued to accuse my partner of being associated with another customer as they have the same surname?? No Mr director you ripped off two people with the same surname!! We have no connections what so ever with the other man so we would kindly appreciate u stop making accusations which are not true!
We have taken further action and reported this company to the police, our bank, and trading standards.
Do not trust their constant lies!

I paid 6 grand for a bathroom extension for my old mum...I've just read the terrible reviews and my story is similar..promising me they applied for planning permission but didn't. Like most of the people on this review…

Like most of the people on this review site I have also been scammed by them however I am not going to put it down to experience. I spoke to Police Scotland Fraud Officers this morning and also spoke to Bark.com and to my Bank to advise them of their behaviour and lastly will now proceed with my lawsuit against this dreadful company. I would tell my story here but it is too long ...so briefly my story is this...

....deposit paid
....not one stroke of work done in two months
....endless texts emails phone calls by myself (mostly unanswered)
....loads of ridiculous texts lying about work about to start etc...

and on and on and on......

Very similar story to others....

Very similar story to others....

Took £5k deposit but then did NOTHING. Not a thing other than fob us off again and again.

Luckily we paid this by credit card and they have been able to refund.

Look up the director at company house and google previous company, has been charged with fraud previously and seems to have done the same again.

Should never be allowed to run a business and should be locked up.

Don’t touch this company as so many…

Don’t touch this company as so many reviews have stated. SH is a poor excuse for a man. So helpful and phoned us at beginning of our supposedly conservatory. Wished I’d listened to my gut feeling and intuition. We were going to cancel after. Workmen we’re on their way to us to start when they had to turn back to where ever they came from. Had payed £3600 deposit in May 21.He didn’t want us to cancel so wasn’t long before he got back saying he would be our port of call and he would follow the build all the way. Very persuasive. Needless to say he didn’t!!!! When they did finally arrive I didn’t like the look of them but gave benefit of the doubt. Started off ok the 3 men lifted some slabs dug out foundation for build.went away came back about a week later. We had to do all the chasing to find out what was happening when they were coming back????When you spoke to office staff they’d tell you a lot of rubbish.Say they would be there week after week.Never showed. All in all have paid £5600 for conservatory which arrived on 17thAug 2021.We were shocked at this. Maybe we were getting started after told it was going to be started supposed to be a Monday no one showed after 2weeks lying in back garden. We emailedSH to tell him we were not going ahead with them to carry out the work. Wasn’t long before a Rebecca phoned from unrecognised number. Stating she didn’t want us to cancel and said again would be the next Monday. There was no way it was ever going to be done. Asked who owned conservatory in my garden all this time. She said it was 1A property.I said what was my £5600 deposit for she said architect digging of foundation and moving a drain which was a experience in its own. They didn’t have a clue about drains. My back garden been a mess since July got boards where I’ve to cross gingerly can’t use .Dog can’t play etc. We were so fed up I just wanted all memories of this company erased. Said to them to come and take it away .said they would only do this if we paid half of the remaining balance which would have been£3200. I said no way were they getting any more money out of us the way they treated us. Call ended. Found phone number of company who supplied the conservatory ordered by SH 1AContracts. He’d only paid £5600 to them they still had £2200 outstanding on it. He was going to charge us £12000 for total. We now are getting quotes from a reputable company. So we have been lucky if you can call it that. He has caused such stress to me and my family over this 5months. You’ve no morals or conscience. I don’t know how you sleep at night. Maybe you don’t.I hope you’re ashamed of yourself..

1A contracts take a 30% deposit to build an extension for us in January 2021. Since then I haven’t heard from them. At the start they answer the phone. Now nobody is answering my calls because I mentioned in my previous correspondence that i I will have to ask for a refund, if they don’t start the job ASAP. Can someone advise how to report them?

Deposit paid - no work done

We were contacted by 1A contracts in January after doing an online search for a builder on Bark. After a few months of discussions we paid £10,400 deposit for extension, kitchen, bathroom. We had done due diligence of searching companies house, trust pilot, asked to see sample work - we were told we couldn't go on site due to covid but were sent pictures. Steven called to chat through the plan. We had several site visits and technical surveys and we visited Westfield Kitchens so seemed genuine. You know the rest. No work been done and no refund. We have contacted trading standards, police and our bank.

1AContract fraud. I have visited there address given on the contract and was not surprised to find that they are not there.So. If anyone else wants to share info or discuss way forward get in touch

I am currently starting legal proceedings against 1a. They have failed to meet contact requirements and continue to lie in relation to my questions about it.
I have spoken with police and trading .
My advice is , do not use this company regardless of how nice they sound.
They do not answer calls or emails so if you’re reading this get in touch and we can resolve this .

Disgusting way to treat Subbies who actually did the work

It seems I was one of the lucky one's, I actually got my rough casting done about 3 weeks ago, I am still awaiting my guarantee though, needless to say thats not going to arrive is it... I truly feel sorry for Paul the contractor and his team who carried my work out to the highest quality, as i have a few little minor stuff to be fixed, Paul informed me he was out of pocket by thousands and had to lay off some of his workers, I felt so bad for him, they worked so hard for what, for greedy business owners to take take and take but give nothing to the actual workers. You should all hang your heads in shame 1A contract, when you were canvassing my area you must have known the state of the company and yet you kept going taking deposits etc. Do the right thing pay your subcontractors what they are owed.
If anyone wants Paul's company name and contact just comment I can supply , lovely job and efficient, shame this has happened to him too..
