Unbelievable Scamsters!!
Unbelievable Scamsters!!
My 3000 pounds deposit is gone . My bank said the 1a contracts account to which I had transferred money has no funds now . I was contacted by a lady Sharon last week to remove my review on trustpilot about 1a contracts (as their accounts is frozen coz of a customer complaint) and she would be in touch with me on a weekly basis to keep me updated on the situation and guess what now her phone and email are un reachable. I can't believe these people can get away just like that and nothing can be done against them??Shocking.
I was advised by a solicitor friend to start small claims actions via scot courts website. Its an easy process folks .Fill the form ,pay a small fee and claim back what's yours.

I was one of the lucky ones… some of the bad reviews were already starting to appear online and google sources already had wind of trading standards investigations when I signed my contract, thankfully I never parted with any money.
The most worrying part being, this ‘company’ were still continuing to make bookings and take customers hard earned money as deposits Knowing the challenges they, as a ‘company’ faced. Knowing how many refunds and deposit they owed back to customers. How could you continue to let this happen unless you were deliberately trying to scam customers, knowing you could not deliver goods or services?!
Glad I got out before I lost any money, no confirmation that cancellation letter has been received but I have taken full photographic evidence and also have cctv recordings of ‘James’ at our property.
Scumbags!

I have received an email from trustpilot 1a contracts has flagged my review as my review is being advertising or promotional and I have been asked to take out tss@cosla whom has received load's of replies so I would now like to ask you all to call 101 is that against the law?
Conservatory
I have a contract for a conservatory to be erected by 1a Contracts. Paid monies for deposit. I came back from holiday to find all these bad reviews. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I have telephoned all the numbers I have for 1a Contracts, no answer on any of the numbers. I only went with this company because of the very good reviews I had read on trust pilot and another review site.

116 reviews and 58% are bad thats over 58 bad reviews. Thats not great folks. 1A have taking large deposits off people and have not carried out the work. Please do your own research but be very careful. They offer all encompassing work for a fixed price as a teaser but onve you have paid the deposit they do not do the work. This runs into thousands be aware.

I have sent an email regarding the guarantee that you issued when my roof was completed can you please reply?
I will not go into my experiences with 1A contracts only to say that they were not good, the contractors were fine but the office staff and management were atrocious.

Dear 1a Contracts
Dear 1a Contracts
A couple of weeks ago I posted a review about your company due to your poor service and inability to fulfil your contract with me.
You then approached me by email, asking me to remove my one star review, which I did, because you gave me false hope of a full refund of my deposit. (Which, incidentally, I requested during the cooling off period.)
I can assure you that this time around, my review will remain online, so please save your time and don't bother to email me again until my refund is processed.
I have decided to initiate legal proceedings against you, because I'd rather lose the money to a lawyer than to you!
I promise I won't rest until justice is done. You will hear from my lawyer very soon.
Kind Regards
Mr L Batko

To all victims
To all victims: please do not fall for his desperate plea. He and all of his staff are professional conmen/women and need to face the full force of the law. Now that trading standards and the police are involved, he is trying to somehow defend his and his employess actions. I may add all sales rep have also been reported to the police. They should be expecting a nice knock on the door soon. Also, before you reply saying "this is a fake account or we have no records of you", think twice. All of us victims have been left traumatised by you greed and selfishness.

The world's smallest violin...
...Playing just for you.
Dear Managing director of 1A contracts, my, you have had a lot of plates in the air recently haven't you?
All these rogue customers are so very bad to you and your company, for no reason whatsoever.Whats your SECRET? Could it be that your business practices and staff are so completely suspect, that people go off and do their own research without telling you their every move?
How dare they?
Let me just say, that you talk a good talk, and I was completely drawn in, with promises of my dream renovations being made a reality initially, and despite my initial due diligence before engaging your company, I was duped, but your actions say otherwise, and before you roll out the "accounts are frozen" excuse, the issues with your company go way further back than that.
I don't condone sharing personal details online, and it's a shame that people have felt so enraged by you and your company that they have resorted to that. I truly hope no one is harmed from it....BUT,
Maybe you should check out your ex employees 5 star bark profile thats nothing to do with you, and check out all the photos of their "previous work" anything look familiar? Rips of jobs done for 1A if I'm not mistaken, as well as some stock photos, easily found using Google reverse imaging (which, I might add were also used by 1A, passing them off as their own)
Wee bit of advice....
There is always a trail.
Prime example, the initial reviews on this very business page, at least 8 of which written by company employees in the early days! No wonder I, and many others were duped. Its a very slick operation.
I hope all these poor people who have worked all their days to afford their dreams get some recompence, and are able to move on from this. I have been one of the luckier ones, but my experience much the same as many others.
I hope never to cross paths with you or any of your colleagues again.
Regards.
P.s I've no need to Verify myself to you. I thought I'd verified your business and was taken in by the wonderful reviews, little did I know your own staff were writing them as I've said above. So maybe what other businesses and ex employees do is of no concern to you, but surely you should be owning what has happened on your own trustpilot page?
Trustpilot is most definitely flawed.
Let's just leave it up to the other customers to go and read the wonderful reviews from last year and join the dots. They'll make their own minds up.

OMG Have just started reading all the…
OMG Have just started reading all the responses to customers who have had their money STOLEN from this despicable man.
In reply to my original review I actually laughed at the use of inverted commas around friend, as if I was making it up and lying!!!!!! My “friend” is 100% real and has lost a substantial amount of money. She has emailed and called daily for weeks with no response. It is now in the hands of the police, trading standards and the bank.
Who is this “nice” person writing all these responses? Would you like to give a name and number to call YOU direct so that all these people can get their thousands of pounds back????
To your reply.
Read the review…… Have emailed and called numerous times and had no reply. Why don’t you spend some time calling the people to arrange for their money back instead of writing ridiculous reply’s on here????? You know exactly who you have taken deposits from and not done any work for!!!!!
To your second response
Not seeing any reviews from people saying they emailed you and received a response. All I am seeing is more and more horror stories of people being ripped off.
Like I said YOU HAVE THE DETAILS OF PEOPLE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DO WORK FOR. CALL THEM, SORT IT OUT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE AND YOU ARE ALL BEHIND BARS!!! WHAT WILL THE TWINS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THEIR FATHER THEN?????

Hi I seem to be in the same predicament as everyone else here, I’ve been phoning 1A Contacts for past 3 months and actually spoke to him on numerous occasions, he’s told me on every call he wants to do the work we have signed up for, but nothing. I am reading all this negative reviews tried phoning 1A Contracts and 2 other numbers I have and no one is answering 🤦🏼♀️ We paid a substantial amount more than I’m seeing on here that others have paid and I’m sick with worry. Someone has said we should all get together but how can we get in touch with you all. I’m seriously thinking of going down the Daily Record route and exposing the people who have done this. I have their names and ph numbers. Worst still, I thought with going through TRUSTPILOT we were protected from scams.

1a contracts and 5star contracts link
It is heartbreaking to read how much money has been lost and the stress people have been put through. My wife and I went through our own stressful experience with 1a contracts back in the summer but we were one of the lucky ones, we got our deposit back after a continuous fight by email and phone. Having read a review stating another possible dodgy company linked to 1a (5 star contracts) I have just looked on companies house and the director of that newly registered company is a person called Danielle (sound familiar??). If anyone is currently dealing with trading standards it might be an idea to pass this information on before he starts recking lives and stealing money all over again under a new guise. Remember you might be able to claim deposits back if you paid by debit or credit card, worth contacting your bank if you haven't already tried. Best of luck to you all. We only received our deposit back after one of you honest staff persuading you to refund us.

To begin with I thought there was a spectacular level of incompetence, possibly exaggerated by the high number of orders, which one of the guys, who actually appeared, boasted about.
As the weeks passed and unsettling reviews appeared, together with other factors ( no contact by telephone, no reply to emails etc ), it was clear something else was afoot.
As with other people, the situation is : deposit paid in May, no work done, the barest of communication. No likelihood or confidence that the work will be done.
I actually received a call on Wednesday 1st Sept ( I was out,so don't know what about ) When I returned the call, it went straight to messaging. No return call.
I am now taking steps to recover my deposit, but assume that assets, cash etc. will be well protected.

Have only given 1 star as would not allow to post with 0 stars.
DO NOT even converse with this company if you value your bank balance and sanity.
After reading recent reviews I realise even though we , had a terrible experience with said company we are one of the lucky ones as we are only £200 pounds down.
Roof was replaced,ok job guttering replaced ok job,
However sent two cowboys to paint outside of house,
what a mess paint was not correct paint and diluted within an inch of its life. Covered the new guttering in paint splashes, and a 5 year old could have made a better job paint splashes over our patio, can supply photos if anyone needs them. A tradesman was sent to redo painting which ws satisfactory. After ringing staff mobiles continually until they answered guttering was replaced after we insisted that could not be cleaned.
Scaffolding was in place week after job completed rendering endorsments on our insurance.
The contract was signed in january and has only just been completed.
We know that there is no chance of getting our £200 back but wish everyone on here who has lost eye watering amounts luck in regaining their monies .
In answer to your comments Firstly I do not recall signing anything, also all work has not been completed I cancelled the cotract for the upvc covering under window due to the shoddy customer service, and the fact that contract was signed in january and we are now september. So if you redo your calculations yes you owe us £200 which i dont expect to see again.Amazing you can answer a negative comment in a matter of mins yet can take weeks to answer an e mail or call back in answer to voice mail or message.

You can add me to the list of the conned. £4000 deposit paid and same story of their bank account being frozen but we will honour the contract. We can’t refund your deposit as it’s outside the 14 day cooling off period and you would lose your deposit if you cancel.
PLEASE DO NOT USE 1a Contracts.

Absolute Fraud company.
Similar experience to all the others here. I have been totally scammed in the construction of a conservatory. Paid 2 installments and all I have is a foundation and dwarf walls. And that too, shoddily constructed. All promises have been going on for more than 10 months now. Hope the Police gets involved in this. I have also contacted Citizens advice who have framed a couple of letters to send out to the company but somehow, they didn’t seem very hopeful.
As someone else suggested here, maybe we should all form a group to proceed legally against 1A contracts and all their lying staff.
