Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They DID NOT send a renewal reminder to me with option with option to cancel and they have renewed. Disgusting customer service and a SCAM as NO email was received with option to cancel. Do not use this company.

Not very trustworthy

Fortunately I never had to use the breakdown cover, but I totally agree with all the other posts. The renewal was automatically deducted from my bank without the promised email 2 weeks prior to the end of my policy. To be fair the money was refunded within 2 days minus the cancellation fee for the policy I knew nothing about !! By all means take out the cover as it is cheaper than many competitors, but make sure you keep track of the finish date so you have the choice of renewing or not without financial penalty

Pleased with service given just wish it could have been a little faster

Car broke down on dual carriageway 25 Feb around 11am, breakdown guy arrived about an hour later, diagnosed split hose, managed to get me and my car to nearby services where I then waited for a recovery vehicle to take me 80 miles to my destination, arrived at 7.30 pm. Long day hanging about but no complaints with the services given by both breakdown and recovery guys, polite and helpful. Thanks to all

Not even worth 1 star !
Renew your policy Automatically apparently I received an email ? If you don’t cancel then they just take money from your account.
Cancelled policy Within cooling off period but they take £8.99 for this. Win Win for them !!
I have never used a company that renews a policy if you don’t respond.
I Hope they get what they deserve one day . DYNAMO SCAM .

What is the point of having a breakdown…

What is the point of having a breakdown cover if you can’t use them . They auto renew my policy but when I phoned up about breakdown at home been told that my policy is not on a system and have to pay 90 pounds for them to come out and have a look at my car . Ridiculous!! And they have charged me 10 pounds more than last year and I haven’t had any call out since last year !

Avoid this company for your peace of mind!

Appalling policy, unclear at time of sale and then when you need to arrange recovery all the small print emerges, which one would not expect with proper and decent cover (as provided by the more established firms) - absolute charlatans. Customer service is atrocious, rude and ignorant and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
Finally, when I decided to cancel the policy, they wanted to charge me £9.99 to simply terminate it - absolutely laughable! Don't touch them with a barge-pole.

Rip off

Had a breakdown policy with these guys for a couple of years. Policy renewed at end of December. In January decided to change my car. Policy is not transferrable (fair enough), asked for a refund of the premium paid in December as policy had only been in force for less than a month. Was told after deducting cancellation & admin fees I could have a refund of £1.00.
Took out another breakdown policy with a company called Recovercover, who I've found out since are the same people as Action Call. Both trading names of Dynamo Insurance.
Was contacted by Dynamo asking if I was taking out a new policy on the new car. I explained that yes I was. They would not help and although the new policy was being taken out with the same company would not refund the premium Id already paid.
If I had know Actioncall/Recovercover were the same company I would not of purchased the new policy with them. I told them to cancel the new policy and I would go elsewhere. The new policy had not even come into force. They then had the cheek to charge me a cancellation fee on the new policy. Please avoid these people at all costs, just rip off merchants.

Never received a reminder to say it was…

Never received a reminder to say it was due for renewal. Had an email with the new policy documents. Sent an email asking to cancel as I did not own the vehicle any longer so did not require breakdown cover. They replied to say they needed proof that I no longer had the vehicle to process the cancellation! Never heard of this previously. it is not even as if breakdown cover is mandatory, avoid avoid avoid.

AVOID Renewal taken even after cancellation

Got the renewal notice almost doubled in price. Clicked the link to cancel automatic renewal, reset my password and cancelled on 10th November through the website. This morning (29th) at 2am! They took payment anyway for a renewal that I cancelled 19 days ago!
I wish I had checked the reviews first.
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Im yet another one scammed by Action…

Im yet another one scammed by Action Call,

Email I just sent them;

I DID NOT receive an email regarding my renewal on 19/10/2019
or at any time and no it did not go into my junk folder.
It is the 4th Nov today renewal start date is not until 08th Nov 2019 Date auto renew payment was taken 02nd Nov 2019 I immediately sent an email stating I do not want this renewal 02nd Nov, 07:40
Surprise, surprise this was taken exactly 14 days after I was supposedly sent a reminder email.
Clearly, I am not the only one left with a bad taste left regarding your auto renewal process

Please cancel my policy right away and do not even think about charging me a £6.99 cancellation fee or I will be taking legal action. How you operate as a company is truly disgusting.Regards

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Probably the most horrendous company I have ever dealt with. Like with other reviewers, they claim to have sent me a renewal reminder which never came and then they automatically deducted the money. They sporadically respond to emails and are sarcastic on the phone.
The managers are always at a meeting. When I asked for a refund immediately after they took the money from my account, apparently it didn’t count because I was supposed to directly respond to their “gesture of goodwill” that they would give me the money back minus their admin fee! Terrible and unprofessional. If I could rate minus stars I would!!!!

Incredible service!

I was so surprised to receive such excellent service after reading so many poor reviews.
I damaged the valve on one of my tyres and so needed someone to come out and replace the tyre.
The woman who dealt with my query on the phone was polite, helpful and efficient. The phone call took no longer than 20 minutes.
They gave me an estimated arrival time for the mechanic of 90 minutes, very reasonable considering I wasn’t in any danger and was on a residential street on which a friend lived so I could shelter there. The mechanic actually came out within 30 minutes and was very efficient in replacing my tyre. He then gave me some very helpful advice on the next steps I needed to take to ensure my car was safe to drive.
All in all, a 10/10 experience with no unexpected costs!

BEWARE This company STINKS & takes your RENEWAL 8 DAYS BEFORE RENEWAL DATE!!!

BEWARE This company take your renewal out of your bank 8 days prior to your old contract finishing!
THEY SAID THEY SENT ME AN EMAIL 3 WEEKS AGO... (WHICH I DID NOT RECEIVE) I DID HOWEVER, RECEIVE ONE at 2am THIS MORNING THOUGH, (THEY HAD ALREADY TAKEN MY MONEY, BEFORE I GOT CHANCE TO READ IT THIS MORNING) HENCE, CALLING THEM PRIOR TO RENEWAL DATE OF 8/10/2019.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, THIS COMPANY LIES TO YOU!
They not only took my last years amount, (£31.99) plus an increase of £11.00 which has actually come out this morning, leaving me short and overdrawn!
I took this out on October 8th 2018! Today’s date 1st October 2019
They told me that I should have read the T&C’s
I have therefore cancelled their services!
THIS COMPANY STINK!

Renewed my policy without sending me…

Renewed my policy without sending me any renewal prices, I callled them to ask for it to be cancelled and refunded as I no longer have the van or never received a renewal price, they told me I had to prove that I don’t have the van anymore. Or I have to pay a cancellation fee.
I was also told the complaints department do not accept incoming calls and that there are no managers to speak too.

I shouldn't even give 1 star for this. This is scam company. I bought breakdown cover and later found out it was one call out. Which was never mentioned to me.
Never gonna suggest this company to anyone. Crazy scammers.

awful company - please don’t use

I had just renewed my car insurance with Action Call for a second year. I hadn’t needed to use them the first year, but 2 days in to my second year with them I broke down and had to call them for the first time. You would have though you could just google their number or go on their website to find it, but no. You have to go through your emails and look in your policy documents. Not very helpful when you’re in an already stressful situation.
I eventually found the number and phoned them. After about 10 minutes of pointless questions (what is the weather like where you are? Etc) they then said they couldn’t find my policy. I gave them my policy number. Still couldn’t find it. The guy on the phone said that it could be because my policy had only just been renewed and they may not have sent my details through yet. He said someone could come out to me but it would cost me £90, which could then be refunded once the offices were open the next day and could confirm my policy with them.
After the trouble finding the number and going through all the questions, I had little faith in the company so decided not to take the risk of losing £90.
Luckily my boyfriend has personal breakdown cover with the AA and managed to request someone via the app who was with me within 15minutes and quickly got my car running again.
The next day I phoned up to cancel my policy with Action Call and was told that the reason they didn’t have my policy on their system was because I had phoned an old number and not the most up-to-date number for them. Ridiculous. I then requested a refund and was told that because it had been more than 14 days since I received my new documents I could no longer have a refund. I said that I had only been covered by my renewed policy for 2 days, not 14 days.
He said as a ‘good will gesture’ he would give me a refund minus an administration fee of £8.

I’m not really sure why I should be penalised for renewing with them early when the reason I renewed before my old policy was up was because they sent me an email asking me to do so.

This insurance is cheap, but there is a reason for that. Lesson learned.

To not even have their breakdown number on their website makes it seem like they don’t actually want people to be able to use the service that they pay for.

Please don’t use this company.
