Afternic is good enough for basic use. The only reason I use it is because it syndicates domains to GoDaddy, which helps with exposure. Other than that, I wouldn’t rely on it. The user interface is ve... See more

I've so far had a great experience with afternic. Just submitted a question, they responded within a few hours. I questioned their response & they responded again immediately with more info & exactly what I was looking for. Friendly & professional!

They cost me $30k. Don't trust them with your domain names. Horribly slow and incompetent customer support. Endless delays. No service.

I live in Arizonia. Someone in Arkansas got into my account. Within a very short time, the representatives in Afternic sent me an e-mail letting me know. Before any damage occurred , I was able to change my information with a new password and two way identification. I can't say enough about how I appreciated them being on it. They earned their 5 stars in my book.

I put up a domain on sale with them, few months later my account was deleted but the domain is still on sale. Their contact page just throws an error 'something went wrong'. The problem appears to be with how accounts are linked between AfterNic and GoDaddy as on sign-on attempt a message comes up saying 'There's already an Afternic account associated with your email. button: Link Account' So you click Link Account and it asks you to sign in again, you enter the same exact email and it says 'You entered an incorrect username or password.' You try to reset the password, it says the user doesn't exist. It's called After Nic because after you register they nick your domain.

The chat human was fine, but your automated email that comes after one has put up a domain for sale via go daddy is confusing. It just says there's been a new sign on from Phoenix AZ - and this is NOT TRUE - AND CONFUSING - it suggests the account has been hacked. Instead, it needs to say this:
"IF you just used godaddy to list a domain for sale, this email means only that you now have an account with afternic. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD OR DO ANYTHING ELSE. YOU'RE ALL SET!"
Check out how other companies like gmail handle things like this. The message needs to be CLEAR.

My domain, that I’ve owned for more than 2 years, has been listed for sale on this site and they’re doing nothing to take it down.
What kind of two-bit company lists products for sale without verifying ownership? Because of this I am moving my domains away from GoDaddy entirely.

the website doesnt function. I cannot link my godaddy account or list any domains for sale. Just a greyed out screen. Whats going on here?
Ps: details:
I had bought some domains and I wanted to list them on afternic. When I try to link my godaddy account to my afternic account, it doesn't work. The option to link accounts is greyed out. If I try to list or add domains, the screen stays mostly blank and does not allow me to do anything. In short, I want to list domains for sale, and it won't allow me to do so. Thank you.

Afternic has a big problem with their third party domain listings, domains you own may be listed on their platform without your knowledge or will. Afternic's way of dealing with this is to put all responsibility on the current owner to sign up for their service, verify ownership via text record and then they'll allow you to remove the listing or alter the price, this is a bad business model, why should the responsibility of maintaining the listing accuracy of the platform fall on the end users? Their commission fees are also much higher than competitors. Update 6/3/25 - afternic asked me for more information to follow up weeks ago and they never replied to me, I think they ask everyone for more.details to manipulate the trust pilot system.

The team at afternic have been terrific they always respond very fast and are very professional and polite, just yesterday evening I had an issue with one of my domains that needed verification and for some reason it stalled in this process, so I text support and told them about the issue , this morning before 5 am I received a response advising me that they have verified and my domain was now on the market for sale. I couldn't ask for a better outcome , well done to the team at afternic.

I sold a domain on 27th of March and they don't seem to be interested in releasing the funds. I have been buying and selling online for the last 25 years and it's no rocket science on how to add the payment details on a website. Despite adding the beneficiary details twice, they keep sending me emails to add the payment details. Firstly, they had an issue with my paypal account and after I sent a screen shot, they seemed fine with it. I also shared a screen shot of the added payment details but they continue to email me asking me to add the payment details. I am extremely frustrated with their unprofessional approach and it seems they have decided to keep the funds that they owe to me for my domain sale.

I am sorry to say I have had unimpressive experience with Aftenic, after an initial success. Their brokerage service seems unmotivated and lethargic at best. To date, there seem to have been several enquiries, which I wasn’t ever made aware of, all of which failed to convert into sales - I will be taking my business to one of their competitors if this continues for another week!

Website is completely broken, can't add domains, says session expired constantly.

I am very disappointed and unhappy with your service. When I sold my domain, you took over $100 in fees without any clear explanation. I contacted support several times but got no reply. No communication, no transparency. This is not acceptable. You need to respond to your customers and be more clear about fees. Very bad experience.

Beware they hack your account and sell your domains without permission.
I have requested documentation that I agreed to sell my domain name. They have not responded because they have no documentation.
