Credit Card Payment Security
I have used Amazon for some time but have always been dubious about their security. I asked if I could use my paypal account as the credit card security with them is excellent. Amazon say they don't use Paypal but will keep my details secure.
I do not trust Amazon and have decided to end my shopping as of today. I hope many customers follow and insist that paypal becomes a payment option .
Amazon Prime sign-up 'blackmail'
Amazon has a maze instead of customer service. It takes ages to find out how to communicate questions, concerns or complaints. The customer is treated like a mug.
The latest, and what got me writing: I discovered a product (ordered before) is now 'only available for Prime customers'.
I do not wish to subscribe to Prime. The product in question is not in any way unusual or part of a special promotion or anything, but unless I 'obey' I can't have it. Will Amazon eventually move to 'membership only', where all users have to be 'Prime' to order anything at all?
Dear Amazon, you are SOOOO rich, and pay soooo few taxes: why not invest in a proper customer care department, and listen to your customers more?
Lossed item in Royal Mail and no compensation
I ordered a new iphone from a third party seller through the Amazon marketplace relying on Amazon's guarantee in relation to third party sellers. I assumed Amazon checks these sellers for proper business behaviour but that seems not to be true. I did not receive the item, contacted the seller Electrick Discounts Ltd who did not help at all. After complaining with Royal Mail they acknowledged that the item was not delivered but some fraud happened and reimbursed the postage costs. As the product was offered "free delivery" I contacted the seller and Amazon offering the reimbursement from Royal Mail in exchange for my money I paid. No reaction from the seller and Amazon insists that I received the item although one Amazon employee agreed via chat that this is not correct. Never had any proper feedback since then from Amazon but only automated replies to my complaint. Complete nightmare and will pursue it further if necessary with legal action.

We have used Amazon for years and have to say that mostly I am suitably impressed with the service we receive. Generally, when things go wrong, they resolve the problem very quickly and without much pain. I have one complaint which is why they don't get 5 stars. We live in a remote location and although they have our house pinpointed on the map, their maps don't show their drivers the road leading to it. The drivers search the roads all around without finding us. We're on Google maps and the road leading to us is shown. Why on earth can't Amazon get a decent map?
Great Company
I have been an Amazon customer for many years and although there has been a hiccup now and again it has always been sorted out very quickly by their excellent customer service team. I buy on a regular basis from Amazon and find that the majority of my orders are delivered very quickly indeed, next day in most cases. One of my recent purchases was a Family General Knowledge Quiz Book which caters for all ages. Great buy. Lots of stupid answers given by family. Hilarious. One question was "Who painted the Sistine Chapel Ceiling " the answer of course is Michelangelo. One bright spark answered Minchella. Shoot me now !!!!!
Worst seller experience ever
Worst seller experience ever! I had a buyer who claimed item not received (let's be honest, 9 out of 10 times that's a scam, but anyway!) and I was forced to refund the buyer because it was sent, as usual, Royal Mail 2nd class large letter, ie untracked/no signature. Ok my bad, fine. Next time I need to send a £20 videogame tracked signed for, spending a fortune on the shipping, right??
BUT worst of all though is that, prior to the decision of granting the buyer a refund, I had lengthy discussions regarding this case where I was reassured by Amazon Seller support, that I needn't worry about this buyer.
I quote (Mayank S.): "Upon investigation, I would like to inform you that as per the tracking details the product has been delivered to the buyer." Well thanks, but what tracking details are you talking about?! Anyway thanks for confirming that the product has been delivered...! And "Hence, be assured that if buyer has any issue with the delivery then amazon will provide the certain support to the buyer."
Later I got a message from another person (Pranav Kumar C.): "After reviewing your email I understand that the seller demands a refund, claiming the item has not been received but you have already refunded.
Kindly be informed that I am forwarding this information to our concerned team right now so that they can investigate this buyer.
I have filed the investigation report against this buyer. I assure you that our team will take strict action against the buyer accordingly. However, if the buyer leaves a negative feedback our team will remove the feedback. You do not need to worry about this buyer as our team will now take care of this issue as we never allow any buyer to give loss to our valued sellers like you. I also assure you that you will not face such inconvenience in future as your case is being handled on top priority." Ok thanks again, but what are you talking about? I haven't refunded the buyer! And what action have you taken against that buyer exactly?
It's absolutely nuts. Stay away from selling on Amazon is my advice.
Product Reviews are FIXED & So is their Tax bill
If Amazon don't like your product reviews, they remove them. The whole thing is fixed.
Amazon now show the same contempt to customers, as they do British taxpayers - avoiding their fair share of tax, so we have to pay more. Buy British - not from American Amazon (although most of stuff is cheap Chinese crap anyway).
Disgraceful
Disgraceful. I had a delivery today and my order said nothing about having to sign for it. So I left a note on the porch door for the delivery to be left inside as I was in bed as on nights. Delivery man knocked on the doors and bedroom window of my bungalow very rapidly not giving me chance to get out of bed. Due to this disgraceful delivery incident I have now cancelled all my prime and music membership and cancelled all my pre orders.

Amazon's helped me out countless times, even in difficult cases where they had no obligation, or really reason, to help me. Hugely appreciated. I now purchase just about everything I can off of Amazon.
Me and 4 of my friends have never experienced better customer service and consumer protection than with Amazon. It must take some serious bad luck to have a bad experience with Amazon from my experience.

I think amazon is a great online shopping website. I've had many items from or through amazon. I've been happy with most of the items I've had. There has been one or two problems. But amazon dealt with them quickly and professionally. I would recommend amazon and still use them to buy online.
