Belmont Wheelworks was fantastic

BikeFlights…buyer beware

I have been a customer of BikeFlights for years but they have lost my business and to make others aware of there new practice of quoting a rate then hitting there customers with an additional charge based on alleged errors in measurements. They attempted to say that I provided incorrect measurements of my box but did not realize that I took pictures .of the actual measurements of the box.
Justin Barr at support@bikeflightsclaimed that the box was 3 inches longer then my stated length and that the “carrier” imposed this charge. Once i responded with photo documentation he simply dismissed my request saying there is nothing he can do. Clearly this is BIkeFlights attempt to take advantage of there customers in a challenging shipping market. These types pf practices are disgusting and a breach of trust of what used to be a good company. Shame on BikeFlights, there are better companies out there that stand by their service and train there people better.

Damaged bike

Bike arrived damaged and box was clearly crushed. The claims process was adequate although they did nothing about the missed cycling event and extended period without my bike. Moreover, when they asked about my preferred reimbursement method I told them to Zelle me. Instead, they sent it via PayPal and I still don't have my money. UPDATE: I changed my review from two stars to four given the improved handling of the claim and resolving the payment issue. Their customer service is admirable.

Box size

Box size, weight limits and overall costs make this service less helpful. I found the entire process awkward. I, like most I suspect, have a bike shop box my bike. Therefore, all the variables that impact this process are out of my hands.
