*Found staff not very proactive, had to find frames for prescription glasses myself with no guidance at all.
* The bill for the complete package was approx £322, however most of this amount approx £280 was marked as "dispensing charge" !!!
* An £80 frame included £55.20 " dispensing charge", therefore I assume the frame cost is £24.80.
* So for a frame costing £24.80, Boots charge me £80 !!
* When I attended for fitting, they wanted to charge me £25 for insurance !! No policy details provided or opportunity given to read small print.

My Optometrist Alpa was very thorough, accommodating and professional.
Lucas was very endearing, amusing and helpful when dealing with my purchase and Heidi ensured that my new spectacles were a perfect fit.

Although Boots opticians in the Trafford Centre were short staffed today, the lady who greeted me apologised for the wait and was very helpful. Unfortunately the optometrist did not introduce himself and the consultation felt rushed. The dispenser, Zainab was professional, enthusiastic and gave excellent customer service.

The contact lens optician at the Warrington store (Suzanne Smith I think her name is) was fantastic, but the rest of the experience was extremely poor.
So many errors made, lenses not received multiple times when they should be so I couldn’t continue the contact lens trial on 3 occasions out of 3, optician asks them to call me when the lenses come in but they don’t, therefore causing further delays and frustration, no answer on the phone when you call, when you do get through they say call back later and put the phone down on you. I ask for a quote for glasses and the person I spoke to couldn’t understand a word I was saying (I think he’s called Patrick) and I kept having to repeat myself, then he got it completely wrong as he clearly didn’t know how to quote for a pair of simple prescription glasses. Another member of staff overheard and came over to correct the totally wrong price he quoted, at which point I walked out.
Staff (not the optician) constantly trying to get me to join the contact lens reward scheme, despite me clearly saying no multiple times and telling them it has the lowest score on Trustpilot that I have ever seen because there are so many issues with it and so many angry customers! Score of 1.3!
Apart from the contact lens optician who was outstanding, professional, friendly, polite and gave very clear guidance, the rest of it is sheer incompetence!
I walked a few doors down into Vision Express and received a very professional service and quote for prescription glasses.
Up your game Boots!

Very professional service. Able to answer queries and have a huge selection of frames. Didn’t have to wait long until my glasses were ready to pick up. Always helpful if glasses need adjusting at any time.

Staff were very helpful and showed patience explaining what was to happen and when selecting the right pair of glasses. Vanessa was very patient and Kieran was very helpful helping my daughter choose the glasses that suited her the most. The staff member who initially saw my daughter for the first eye check was also very helpful explaining what was happening.

Just spent total of 5 hours travelling plus cost of parking, fuel, and train fares to be told they would not undertake my eye test, due to not confirming I would pay for the test if my eye sight had not deteriorated since my last appointment a year ago. It seems unbelievable my file was marked as a 2 year review with out me being told. At the time of booking I was not made aware of this. It was confirmed this was the rules of the NHS, I’m retired and finding all these hidden charges outrageous.
I could not afford the risk of be liable for a £30.
