I visited today for my eye test, and I have to say that Holly made my experience a really positive one.
I have regular eye tests and usually end up buying two pairs of glasses: one for distance and one pair of varifocals. Unfortunately, I have never been able to get used to wearing varifocals, so they end up being a complete waste of money.
Today, I was struggling to choose a pair of glasses when a lovely lady named Holly came over to offer her help. When I explained that I was choosing a pair of glasses knowing full well that I probably wouldn’t wear them, Holly suggested trying contact lenses instead. I was amazed that this was an option for me!
I was left wondering why this hadn’t been suggested during my eye test, especially as I had explained to the optician that I struggled with my glasses.
I cannot thank Holly enough for her help today. Her professionalism, kindness and genuine care were second to none. She took the time to listen to me, understand my concerns and offer an alternative that I hadn’t even considered.
Thanks to Holly, I have now signed up for a contact lens trial, and I’m really grateful for her advice and support.
Holly is a real credit to the team, and I hope her excellent customer service is recognised. Thank you so much, Holly!

Kinds and very thorough eye…
Kinds and very thorough eye examination. Explained everything clearly and showed outcome of a choice I made to have anti-glare on my new lenses. Amazingly, when I went to choose frames the Ophthalmologist picked up a pair straightaway and said these might suit! They were perfect and really 'me'! I am delighted

Excellent and comprehensive service!
The eye test was comprehensive and the clinician was informative and explained any issues clearly. When choosing my new glasses I was given excellent advice and all options were explained clearly. I didn't have to wait long at any stage and all staff were pleasant and helpful.

The eye exam was excellent …
The eye exam was excellent and the Optometrist was extremely professional.
I got 6 text reminders about the appointment though which is just a bit too much and also was asked to phone to give information I was then asked at the appointment so that was a waste of time,
The assistant who was supposed to help me pick out frames wasn't very helpful or communicative, I decided to put it down to them having a bad day, but I'll be getting my frames online...

Simply perfect
I attend Boots opticians in Glenrothes since many years.
They are always helpful & kind. When chosing a new pait of glasses, they always give an honest opinion if the new frame suits or or not. Nor do they try to steer one away from 'cheaper' options.

Harassing me despite being asked to stop numerous times!!!
I have asked Boots opticians numerous times to stop ringing and texting me and asked them to remove my number because they are contacting me about my daughter’s appointments but use my number and not hers. She is an adult and as I have told them numerous times I don’t make her appointments. I have just received a text saying an eye test is overdue and it is addressed to my daughter. This is harassment now and has been reported as such.

Leave Me Alone
Nothing wrong with the service in store it is the harassment afterwards when an eye test is due and this now has been happening for six months. This is not simply a reminder it is constant contact through calling me (I block the numbers but then they call on a different number), emails and now what’s app (I blocked them yesterday but they have managed to get round that and are contacting me again today). Plenty of good opticians out there who don’t behave like this. Boots, the more you harass me the more determined I am not to go back to you.

Great Service at Boots Opticians
The staff in this store were really helpful and polite. They did a proper eye test and scan of my retina, and made sure that everything was clean and sterile.

Excellent service
Excellent service. Such helpful staff giving constructive advise.
A shout out to Simon who was so supportive in helping me choose my new glasses. Certainly knows what frames will suit you. There’s also an excellent selection of frames.
Aqib explained all the results of my eye test to me clearly which I really appreciated.
I will certainly keep going back to Boots in Barnsley for my eye tests and frames.
