I've been trying to get full fibre…

I've been trying to get full fibre broadband installed for a while now. Toob were happy to be the provider, once CityFibre had installed the cable. Installation was supposed to be today, 22/05/2026 but CityFibre had cancelled the installation of the cable and not bothered letting myself or Toob know about it. I've emailed the CEO, but I doubt he'll reply. They're asking for further details, we'll see what happens.

Five days ago, I sent the information they asked for with no acknowledgement that they had revieved it.

Since being in hospital earlier in the year, I cannot go out to work, I need a broadband connection to work from home. The government says all households will have a full fibre connection, CityFibre local manager says not.

What was meant to be a 2-3 hours…

What was meant to be a 2-3 hours appointment stretched to 5+ hours.
The problem was that the process of installing the fibre cable could not progress further than my garden perimeter.
The two installers did not have the experience to overcome this obstacle and their contactable experienced installer was dealing with a complaint at another address.
The final outcome was I did eventually get a broadband service.
But the installer would not agree to my request to make a more direct cable route to the brown box.
This has resulted in a meandering cable across a 3ft wide corridor of my garden.

The installation was smooth

The installation was smooth, the installers helpful, everything is OK at the moment, very happy, they switched me from virgin, kept my phone number, and THEY cancelled my virgin contract, so I didn't have to go through all the BS with virgin! ;-)

The end to end service was brilliant

The end to end service was brilliant. Communication throughout in advance of installation. Engineers were friendly, professional and really helpful. Helped educate me on changing WiFi details .. amazing service from city fibre
