Bad experience with clover
I charged my first $100 using Clover, and it has been a nightmare since. They deducted their fee directly from my bank account and never deposited my money. It has been since March 16, 2026. They said that it is a risk management issue, and there is no number for risk management. They only communicate through emails or appointments. I did both. It has been 15 days and nothing been resolved. They haven’t been replying to my emails for days. Very bad experience so far.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Clover has been one of the worst I’ve ever had with any company—especially one handling financial services.
I have been charged $649 EVERY MONTH for something labeled as “RPP”, and to this day, no one has been able to clearly explain what that even is or why I’m being charged.
Here’s the reality of dealing with Clover:
❌ Unexplained recurring charges – No transparency, no breakdown, no justification
❌ Endless support loop – I’ve spent HOURS on calls being transferred from one department to another
❌ No ownership – Every team pushes responsibility elsewhere
❌ No resolution after 3+ weeks – Still no answer, no fix, no refund
❌ Blame shifting – They keep telling me to contact the onboarding/merchant service rep
❌ Unreachable onboarding agent – The person who supposedly “owns” my account is completely unresponsive
❌ Refusal to reassign support – Clover will NOT assign someone else who can actually help
Their explanation?
“Your account is not fully approved, so charges are being applied.”
That makes absolutely no sense:
Why am I being billed if the account isn’t fully approved?
Why was this never disclosed upfront?
Why can no one explain what “RPP” is?
This is not just poor service — this feels like intentional lack of transparency and accountability.
🚨 Warning to other businesses:
If you’re considering Clover for your business, think twice.
You may end up:
Paying hundreds of dollars monthly without clarity
Wasting hours dealing with useless support
Getting stuck with no one responsible for your account
This is NOT how a payment processor should operate.

This is the first time I have ever written a review, and it is out of utter frustration I am here now. We have used Clover through Cardnet previously and had no problem as our contact was through Cardnet. However we were courted by Clover with an offer and a solution that would fully integrate with our systems and streamline our financial management. This looked great, however as we started to integrate it became clear that the Clover solution would not work as expected. We held off whilst a solution was sought but nothing was acceptable. We said that we wished to return the devices and cancel the agreement as it was not as expected, the consultant from Clover Alex Hepworth refused to return emails and phone calls. Eventually after copying in many other people he emailed me a number to call to arrange the return. This number was for customer services who were helpful but told me Alex himself needed to arrange the return and would call me that day. 1 week later and no call I phoned customer services again, who put me through to a manager who apologised and promised me that Alex's manager Danny Betts would call me that day. Another week passes without a call and I have called again to be told that Alex will call me within the hour, that was 2 hours ago and still no call. This saga is now in to its third month. The sad thing is their products are good, but to deal with such contempt is unacceptable. Avoid Clover as they are not bothered about you as the customer.

Embarrassing customer service
A duplicate charge caused by clover system during a service outage cannot be refunded—by me or by their support team.
After spending a long time in chat, being told repeatedly the issue was resolved (it wasn’t), I was ultimately told nothing could be done. Meanwhile, my customer is double charged.
This is unacceptable for a payment processor in 2026. Please provide a real solution other than mailing a check that’s embarrassing
This is got to be the worst company
This is got to be the worst company. I wish I could give them a negative 5. After being with them for four years under another company the salesperson quickly signed me up for their services without telling me that they will hold my money hostage for the first 45 days and when I tried to call customer service to find out the reason the so called manager got hostile with me on the phone telling me that my account was a provisional account. Total scam. They need to be more transparent when signing up a new client. Stay away from them.

So I bought a system from them. Flex2. After a year I want to stop using the 30 a month. Tax management service. Lady transfer me to a lease agreement. Told me I have 2 years left on this lease. WTF.

Bought clover mini for 800 was supposed to get 600 back after 60 days day 53 they shut me down because I didnt send old bank statements to them. No reason they need them from before when I had the pos. Sold it now people are having issues reactivating it. Stay far away from them. Square is 100x better

This company are thieves…. They sent me out a handheld device and activated a SIM card within the device (no idea how you do this) and have taken thousands of pounds of out my account. FEES WON’T STOP AFTER CANCELLING
This is the second review I’ve written because Clover continues to charge me monthly fees months after I’ve cancelled them and I cannot get them to stop. They keep telling me they will refund the additional fees they charged after I cancelled, but not only have they not refunded them they just keep on charging them month after month. They need to be sued for fraud and deceptive practices. DO NOT EVER do business with this company.

When the equipment works, things are fine. If you EVER need assistance with ANYTHING at all, you will know exactly why I give 1 star. Absolutely horrible customer and developer experiences. I can't stress enough how painful it has been to use this company. We are getting off this platform as soon as we can.
