Evaluating 277 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the delivery service, citing issues with parcels being rerouted, delayed, or not arriving as expected, even for express services. Customers also reported that their packages were often not delivered to their homes, with drivers sometimes leaving notes without attempting delivery or leaving parcels in unsecured locations. The customer service was frequently criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to reach, and providing vague or incorrect information. Very fast service express post

I'm in Perth, WA. I ordered a bag of protein powder from a company in Tasmania. Used Australia Post express post.
Ordered on Wednesday afternoon, 21 January.
Received in Perth, following day, Thursday 22 January , lunch time.
Very satisfied with the service.

lazy service

if the parcel requires a signature, they probably don’t even have it with them and instead just have the note to collect your parcel prewritten. had two different parcels coming at the same time, one was left in the mailbox while the other wasn’t due to ‘safety hazard’. it required a signature on delivery, but obviously they didn’t even attempt to drive up the driveway. so lazy

Won't give me a refund after two failed delivery attempts

I am still emailing and complaining to AusPost about this issue and I'm getting no where, they just stopped answering me and say my complaint is resolved. It is not, so I keep opening it.

I sent a package from CNS to BNE (to my brother) he has never had an issue receiving packages before.
I have tried to send this twice - both times come back return to sender. It has the correct address on it and phone number to send him a text to collect. He never received a text or slip. I am beyond frustrated as I paid for this twice. I moved to VIC, so I cannot collect from Post Office, someone else can but I'd have to fill out a form online. So I decided to get them to send it for a third time. Hopefully it works this time, however my brother has to pay a $7.20 collection fee. So annoyed at the fact that they won't send me a refund for the first two failed attempts.

They said all I needed to provide was date, time, transaction amount and which store (sent screenshot of transaction), receiver name, address and tracking number for a refund - which I did. Then they turn around and say nope can't. When I questioned it, they said they cannot refund at this stage, so I asked at what stage can you, what date? Then no answer from then. I will not let this go without an explanation.

It's not even the amount I'm angry at - it's the principal of the matter now! I have never in my life had such an issue with AusPost ever! So angry and disappointed. Will definitely be using a different carrier when I can from now on.

Hopeless Express Service

I paid $14 for an Express Post envelope to be delivered from Ballarat to Fitzroy, in Melbourne. Delivery was to be next business day. I posted it on Friday. The message saying it was ready for collection came late the following Tuesday. So, it has been collected first thing Wednesday. Not the first time this supposedly express service from suburban Ballarat to inner Melbourne has taken days! One envelope took five days. I won’t bother again.

Unprofessional Courier

I pointed this out to the courier"Please don't kick/beat the door. This is a security door, not a drum. I heard the bell. Next time, please give me 2-3 seconds to get there. The courier punished me, took back the parcel, told me to pick it up from the post office and left. Thank you Australia Post Continuation:courier sent my parcel back to the sender, lying that I refused to accept it.

Parcels so often not delivered

Parcels so often not delivered. I believe they don't even try and just take them to the post office to save themselves time. Then the post office never contacted us, now I don't know where thr parcel is because Australia Post Customer Contact have no idea how to give service, just blah, blah, blah excuses. Do I care, they made the problem , fix the problem!, but no, cannot do. Yet I had the please of paying postage for what?? Always disgusting service!! Coz there is no service!!

Package never arrived

Package never arrived, I work from home and was home when they claimed it was delivered. They couldn't provide proof of delivery and said they don't need to. basically run by petty criminals.

Inaccurate and dysfunctional with no shows and missing packages.

Estimated delivery over two days. The items have neither arrived on the earlier estimated day or the next estimated day. They allow themselves two days for accuracy and fail completely. This has happened on many occasions rendering their tracking as completely abusive, time wasting, counter productive, inconsistent, incorrect and dysfunctional. Further more, some items have displayed arrived locally, only to then show they are now 2000kms away in a different town 4 days later. Completely useless and they join the line with ARAMEX being equally useless.

Website needs updating

The website where I entered my tracking number was telling me that it was an attempted delivery and then it stayed like that for 2 days. So I called and the person told me that my parcel had been at the post office for 2 days and the website hadn’t changed and I had gotten no notification.

Australia Post is a joke. Royal Commission now.

9 days and Australia Post has still failed to a deliver a package a mere 200km. It would take 1 day to walk that distance. Australian post claim a 2-4 day delivery speed but won’t investigate a delay until it’s taken 24 days. Australia Post is a joke. Royal Commission now.

No accountability

Australia Post left my son’s Christmas present in an unsecured mailbox on a busy main road. It was stolen.
They claim it was delivered to a secure post box. The proof of delivery photo proves otherwise.
We paid for Express Post and instead got a $500 loss and weeks of frustration. I’ve been emailing Australia Post for three weeks and getting absolutely nowhere.
This feels less like customer service and more like a tactic to delay, deflect, and wear you down until you give up.
Mistakes happen. Refusing to take accountability when the evidence is right there is unacceptable.
My son missed out on his Christmas present, and Australia Post won’t own their error.

Poor customer service due to staff’s…

Poor customer service due to staff’s laziness!! I got delivered about 10kg of a box. I am a small woman and I told a staff it would be too heavy for me to carry. I asked the staff to bring the box in front of door of the house from the gate which was only 20 meters driveway. He refused and just left the box in front of the gate. What a service!

Corrupt & Unaccountable

Parcel ex. D > AU sent via DHL Paket > Aus. Post.
24/12/25, 22.26: Left Frankfurt, Germany
2/1/26, 10.26am: Processed in Melb Sorting Facility
Stated Delivery ETA 5-6 Jan.

7/1/26: No further updates.
Called AU Post Enquiries: Unable to get a real live human on the phone, only an Auto-Gen message:
Your parcel is with us. Status will be updated in 2+ days

9/1/26 (Update)
Called AU Post Enquiries: Rinse & Repeat @ above.
Got hold of a real consultant on their Chat portal only to be told that the online help service is only for domestic parcels & to call the AU Post Enquiries Number. LoL (See above)

19/01/26: Received below email:
--------------------------------------------------------

Hi George,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into your missing parcel.

Case reference: 705XXXXX

Tracking Number: CPXXXXXXXXXDE

We've found no further traces of your parcel in our delivery network. It also hasn't been scanned at our Returned Mail Redistribution Centre, where we store undeliverable items and loose contents.

With all possible checks completed, we regret to advise that we can't locate your parcel. Your parcel is now considered lost.

We had hoped to give you a happier outcome today, and we're sorry that we couldn't."
----------------------------------------------------------

"With all possible checks completed".?

Give me a break. What a Fob-Off of a response!

The appeal of these vehicles (hence demographic able to ID the part & its application) is very limited.
Even a perfunctory internal investigation* would be able to determine which of the staff working that day might have had a motive to steal it.
*Cross referencing with vehicles owned by said staff / immediate families.

I'd bet my @ss no such investigation was undertaken.

I subsequently (20/01/26) emailed Australia Post Customer Service & requested a full scan history + internal investigation notes, including:
> Timestamps
> Facility handling logs
> Cage dispatch records
> Any “exception” notes and
> The CCTV review.
I stressed the urgency of my request. I also advised that I'd be filing a formal complaint with the PIO (Postal Industry Ombudsman).

As of (26/01/26) AU Post has NOT responded to the above request.

So, in summary....
i) DHL gets parcel Germany-2-AU in 7 days over X-Mas/ New Year period
ii) A 12kg, 1.0 x 0.7 x 0.25m carton is 'lost' (stolen) within an AU Post sorting facility, and all this sham of an org. can offer is regret....

As the below stats (via an ABC investigation) show, this is NOT an isolated incident. Australia Post has Form
> 10,000+ Gov. issued ID docs* 'lost' in just 3 years.
*(incl. 3200 passports)
> $400K of items stolen by one Contractor alone.
> Bank Cards stolen & fed to $1.4M fraud operation
> ID/financial data of 1.6M Super customers stolen.
> 8.9% increase in complaints to PIO in last FY.

The figures are staggering and should be a source of shame & disgust for anyone harbouring the illusion we live in a country with 1st World Institutions where wronged consumers can be confident of redress through rule-of-law.

A high-level* investigation into this unaccountable, arrogant and corrupt organisation is way overdue.

*Royal Commission? Forget It. No Government will investigate a corrupt government organisation.

i dont know who delivered my parcel…

i dont know who delivered my parcel markes express post, all the address on the parcel were correct, yet it was a person 5 doors away that came to deliver it, i dont mind if it is an error on the delivery person, thos it shouldnt happen , but i get agro when the post office makes out it my fault and treat me like an idiot, i have asked why it was sent to the wrong address even tho i sent them a photo of the parcel with the correct address, i have 5 answers all generated as standard letters, still saying the address was wrong, NO my address on the parcel was correct even after sending a photo they still make out iam the stupid one, as for these people all different ones answering, i suggest you learn your job and find out why, a lass brought my parcel instead of Auspost.Thank heaven it wasnt expensive items, but that not the issue, who ever delivered this in Auspost needs glasses or learn to read English, still keep getting the same standard note from them, not happy with Auspost.date of delivery is roughly.still have the box if needed.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Nothing but problems. The latest - today they said they attempted to deliver my parcel at 9.28am but there was no one in attendance - rubbish! I was in and listening for the postie all morning. Also no card left and no photo evidence either, just an email telling me they attempted delivery. AP are utterly useless. How come Amazon get deliveries right all the time and AP always mess it up.
