Common sense out the window and mayhem…

Common sense out the window and mayhem in. If you live in Adelaide, I’d say poor you. This is one reason.

I lived in an apartment building in Adelaide CBD. The apartment building has a secure mailroom with CCTV. All other carriers will leave parcels in there, Amazon, Amarex, Fedex, Couriers Please, no problem. Australia Post will refuse too. Even at my request to take a photo and leave it. I have a sign saying leave it, the address says leave it, but they won’t. Instead, they will disperse packages all over the city to different locations. Sometimes Gouger Street, other times Franklin Street or Rundle Mall and sometimes in a 24/7 locker that I can’t access. They may or may not leave a card telling you this. You have to try and find out. Of course, in this bustling capital city, the post offices are only open Monday to Friday in normal office hours, closing early. So, you need to take time out from work and get there when they’re open, but the parcel might not be there. You’ll ask them to search for it but for some reason they can’t search under your name, and they may not be able to find it under your address. The phone number also seems to be random, so you may go home empty handed. The locker requires the QR code and your phone number, but it seems they never put in my number, so you have to get a post office worker to be there and open it manually. There's also the delays. The airport is literally 10 minutes away, yet an item will sit there for 2-4 days sometimes before they bother to process it. Don’t bother with express post either. I once had an express item coming from Melbourne that instead of 2 days took 2 weeks. I raised over 20 cases about all of this. They don’t care. I get a generic response saying it’s at the driver’s discretion. Sometimes they say we will redeliver it, but they don’t. I’ve lived in most cities in Australia, but Adelaide Australia Post is the worst.

Beyond Lazy

Auspost… Been around for 50 years just to say “we can’t deliver it, pick it up from post office” every time, regardless of how easily accessible the house is and that we are home waiting. Lazy

Disappointing service

It’s truly unbelievable and unacceptable that you provide service like this when delivering parcels to customers. Last time, when I gave my home address, you left it in a place that led to it being stolen, and you considered that place to be safe. This time, I provided my workplace address, and we’re open from 8:30 to 5. At 2:35, you marked it as undeliverable because you supposedly couldn’t access the premises. We have two gates, each four meters wide, wide open, and two entrance doors plus a warehouse door you could have used to come in. How is it possible that you couldn’t enter and deliver the parcel?

Then I had to stay late to receive the parcel, and it started raining, so I had to ride my motorcycle back in the rain and got soaked. It’s honestly unbelievable and unacceptable. At the very least, you could try harder to properly deliver to a business address when someone needs their delivery and you’ve committed to delivering it on that day. There’s clearly a reason they need it.

Australia Post needs to do better

I bought a present, online, for a friend's birthday. I received notification it would be delivered Monday 24/11 or 25/11. I organized to see my friend on 26/11. No present received. I do A LOT of online shopping and the only courier who has ever been late with deliveries is Australia Post. Why? I don't know but from now I'm looking at who the courier is and am not buying if it's Australia Post. It not the first time I've experienced delays with them and I should have known better. I now just have to wait as I was given no ETA, jut if I haven't received the item by 09/12 to contact the seller!

Appalling deliveries

Where to begin! Yesterday morning, I was informed that my package was onboard for delivery that day. When it was lunch time and no delivery, I checked the tracking. It said arriving around 3:30-5:30. Odd, but okay. Anyways, around 3:30 and still no delivery, I checked the tracking again. It changed from onboard for delivery to in transit, and through complete cheek, the date of delivery changed to two days later?? But that’s not all! By 5:30pm, they send me an SMS saying the driver was held up and will arrive later that day. By this point I was irritated and confused, because I didn’t know if we should lock our front gate or not. Well, the day came and went and the driver never arrived. Safe to say this kind of “service” leads to customer dissatisfaction .

The worst courier ever!

Genuinely the worst courier ever, can’t even deliver a parcel on time then says it’ll be rescheduled the next day — doesn’t come either and it’s absolutely painful trying to get through to the phone with them. Tried online support, they only give you about 30 seconds to 1 min to respond before they say “I haven’t heard from you in a while! Closing this chat!” Absolutely pathetic and useless, every single person that works for them can’t generate 1 brain cell.

Delivered to the wrong house

Auspost have the absolute worst customer service tied with the Kmart online shop customer "support".

Delivery driver delivered 2 out of 3 of the packages from my order to the wrong house, clearly obvious from the difference in safe drop images. Neither Auspost or Kmart have been providing any real assistance in rectifying this issue. Very poor business practices all around full of incompetent staff at every interaction.

A waste of time and money

I sent an parcel from the gold coast qld in mid october ( my last stop before my flight home to ireland) it was sent to ireland where it was returned to the gold coast over a month and a half later - issue
The Australian postal employee never attached any customs declaration or documents with the parcel and was not allowed to enter ireland.

Australian posts response:
Collect the parcel from the gold coast post office and sent it again...
When I couldn't they said nominate someone to do it...
I said i didnt know anyone in the gold coast, they told me they cant help me.

They make a mistake its my problem to fix
Worst goverment department I've ever seen

Lost parcels

Australia Post charges high postage costs but can barely call itself a service. Lost and stolen packages are becoming more frequent and I was told by a senior postal official that 2% of all parcels are lost - that’s huge - 2 in every hundred. So when you post a parcel there’s a good chance that it won’t arrive. When you phone them they’re either unhelpful or have no knowledge and it’s clear they don’t care about your lost/stolen package. I’ve had two lost parcels within the past few weeks and I’m tired of having to spend hours chasing them up with no result. I’ve also lost two parcels in the past. AP needs to go back into government hands and be accountable for their lack of service. It’s a business for profit - use a courier instead as I will be.

Says Delivered, but did not receive package until a week later after several e-mails

Purchased the Item on Sunday. Says Delivered and time stamped by 1:58PM and left on safe premises. Checked my mailbox and on the floor as I live in an apartment building after I picked up my kid from school. Nothing. Checked the following day. Nothing. Weekends they don't deliver. E-mailed Australia Post on Friday. They responded back on Monday and looped to say it's been delivered, then told me to check with Sender, then told me the address didn't match their records. Mind you, I never had any issues with the Sender as I've been a customer for many years and no change in address.
Checked again on Monday. Nothing. Finally packaged arrived on Tuesday. Pathetic service.

Once again Australia Post has failed…

Once again Australia Post has failed dismally. I am eighty three years old and buy goods on the internet regularly. For the third time within a week, i have received a message failure to deliver. 12:15 pm Wednesday I am sitting at home, front door open and I get the message. I go to my mailbox expecting a "pick up at P.O." note
NOTHING!!
so where is my package still in the van where the postie is having lunch?? who knows.
There have been so many complaints about this miscreant postman, and Aus. Post does absolutely nothing.
I now inform sellers please do not use Aus. Post, as receiving my purchase is unlikely. How Aus. Post service is still around ( pay peanuts, you get monkeys) is beyond my comprehension perhaps that is why.

Do not trust Australia Post with parcel deliveries

Australia Post leaves parcels on the doorstep clearly visible to anyone walking passed - they describe this as “leaving it in a safe place”. I have seen them do this for my neighbours. What a joke! They claimed to have delivered a valuable food and wine package and left it in a “safe place”. I never received it- I can only conclude they left it on my doorstep and someone souvenired it. When my friend complained that the parcel was never received Australia Pist replied that she had consented to it being left in a safe place.

Going downhill fast!

Australia Post seems to be going downhill fast, as far as parcel deliveries go anyway.

Communication and delivery times used to be great and almost always delivered at the time they specified.

Now we get ad hoc communications (sometimes none and the parcel just arrives or never does) along with unfathomable and wasteful delivery journeys.

For example, I purchased an item from a retailer at BATHURST on Wednesday morning which was to be delivered to me at Mudgee. The parcel was picked up by Auspost later that morning and approved for shipping at 12:50 pm that day.

Next entry was that it had arrived at a SYDNEY sorting facility on the Thursday late afternoon. Next entry it arrived back at BATHURST on the Friday 1:00 am and it's still stuck there.

So Auspost wasted two days and their time and effort shipping the item from Bathurst to Sydney and back to Bathurst again!

If Bathurst had simply put the parcel on the next Mudgee bound van I would have received it Thursday morning.

As it is, because of their crazy shipping zig-zags I'll be lucky to receive it by the next Monday!

This is not the first time this has happened either. I ordered an expensive ceiling fan from a retailer in Brisbane. The delivery journey showed it went from Brisbane to Sydney and back at least FOUR times. Finally it was officially declared lost and the retailer had to ship me a 2nd fan at their cost.

They badly need someone with an ounce of brains to come in and sort out their parcel routing madness and failing messaging service.

Not good enough.

Delivery issue

I don't know what their problem is with people. Not only me, but all the neighbors in our building have problems with them. They don't send any parcels to any address, but they charge the delivery fee but don't provide any service. This is called theft. It's not fair at all 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
