I don’t usually write reviews - other things to do. However, credit where credit is due - and it certainly is due to Cowells.
I ordered three plants quite early on Saturday morning thinking that no one would look at the order until Monday; on Sunday I got a message to say the order was ready for dispatch and at 13.00 today ( Monday) the plants were delivered to me 200 miles from the nursery.
The plants were in prime condition; were superbly packed and boxed - probably better than any plants I’ve ever ordered on line. What’s more, they were 70% cheaper than similar plants at major well- known internet plant sellers.
I am seriously impressed- thank you Cowells!!

Rang in advance to check availability of a certain plant & lovely young man said he would put one aside for me. Once I arrived I was total amazed at the range of plants on offer & the quality. I bought my reserved plant plus 3 others with the assistance of a very helpful lady there. Not the closest garden centre to me but will be my main one from now on.

Ordered online on Sunday plants arrived on Tuesday morning so very fast delivery . All plants were packed and delivered in excellent condition . I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future and maybe give the shop itself a visit . Thank you cowell’s.

Purchased a delphinium online, arrived very well packed and super fast delivery, a bit wilty due to the heat and travel but to be expected, it has soon perked up, its a very healthy looking plant with a flower head growing, look forward to seeing over summer. Will definitely order again glad I found this lovely company

I have bought a few house plants on line recently and it has been a very positive experience.
Plants have been in amazing condition, well packaged and very quick delivery.
The team are very helpful if you have any enquiries.

I had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Glen during my recent visit to Cowell’s Garden Centre, and I can confidently say it was the best customer service experience I’ve ever had at any garden centre—local or otherwise.

Glen’s in-depth and thorough knowledge of plants was truly impressive. He took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and guided me to the perfect selection with patience and clarity. Every question I had—no matter how small—was answered with confidence and detail, clearly coming from a wealth of expertise.

What really stood out to me was Glen’s kind, courteous, and highly professional manner throughout our interaction. He made the experience not only informative but genuinely enjoyable. I left feeling inspired and well-equipped to care for my new plants, all thanks to his exceptional guidance.

Given his outstanding service and plant knowledge, I’d be surprised if Glen weren’t a supervisor or senior member of staff—his professionalism and customer care are simply next level.

This is the best online garden centre by far! I recently ordered again from them and their service is second to none. The plants were beautifully packaged, exactly as described and are thriving in my garden. Delivery was super quick too. But what sets them apart is how they dealt with a minor issue. 3 plants were missing from my order, so I contacted them via email. I got a lovely email in very quick time apologising and they sent the plants straight away. If you want a reputable online plant delivery service with excellent customer service and super products, look no further than Cowell's.

My order was processed and delivered in 3 days. Excellent plant ….not readily available elsewhere…..and good experience. Good people to deal with. Will order again.

Just visited Cowells Garden Centre. Always enjoyed and the staff are helpful. But today a different matter altogether.

I took back a plant that had died off in a week. I was approached by a staff member not wearing a name badge but later asked him and was told Glen. He examined the plant and said it was fine and was meant to do that .. I explained that I wasn’t happy as had paid nearly £20 for a plant that had flowered for a week!
I also pointed out there was a small warning in corner saying poisonous to animals and humans. He replied all plants are poisonous. Which is not
a fact.

He persisted and then he took me over to checkout. He childishly made gestures to the checkout operator (later I found out she was supervisor) as we waited in the queue.
He stated to supervisor that I wanted a refund. The supervisor said simply ok.. to which seemed to aggravate him more and then said he didn’t authorise it.
I asked him his position and he was a plant staff.
I asked to speak to Manager, she came over and asked if I had kept the plastic pot, I hadn’t- I had disposed of it when I planted said plant!
I also pointed out the warning about poisonous humans and animals as I have grandchildren, the manager said well they’re not going to eat it! Really? Such a bold statement… as she was not taking into account toddlers and dogs!!
I got my refund but I found this guy intimidating and disrespectful especially when he said at the checkout after I asked his name and position -
he was going to walk away now??
As opposed to doing what?

I ordered six plants online. Each came beautifully wrapped, in eco friendly brown paper. Very good quality plants too. I will be ordering again. Excellent.

my first order was excellent - the plants were very healthy and I was really pleased with them
unfortunately my second order was very disappointing - out of the three plants only one was good, one was acceptable and the third really poor - it had just one small set of leaves and barely any roots in the pot
I emailed their customer service office on receipt and uploaded a photograph but never received a reply nor was offered any resolution
not a positive experience second time round

Hollie was very most helpful in helping us to diagnose our problems with our house plant. She was very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. She also helped us to choose replacement plants.

Always receive great products from cowells. Alway in great condition without any issues. Would definitely recommend.

Purchased a 8l Juniper online and when it arrived it looked nice but after further inspection (removing top layer of soil) there was no trunk base and it was all being held up by a very little amount of young weak roots, obviously a cutting which wasn't established enough for sale. I tried taking it out of the pot which most of the 8L pot was just loose soil and gravel NO root system at all. It would have been better in a much smaller pot and giving it a few more growing seasons before trying to sell off as a 8L juniper!
After contacting them about this situation I was basically accused of lying!!! The after sales customer support was awful and never before received aggressive response to my concerns. Very very unhappy with this nursery.
I have since ordered a 7.5L juniper from another nursery (Suttons) also £10 cheaper which arrived and was much better, looks same size and had a great strong trunk and base with good healthy root system.
You might get good plants/trees from them but with the after sales / support you will receive if you did have an issue I WOULD AVOID BUYING from this nursery.

What a wonderful experience! I bought a little lemon tree (and some citrus fertiliser), it arrived today.
So gorgeous, with 5 little lemons on it.
Very carefully packaged and speedy delivery.
So pleased.

Just back from a flying visit to Cowells, and I must say the plants for sale here are top notch, all looking very healthy and strong. Very impressed !

Really please the quality of the plants I bought from Cowell's Garden Centre (online). Really good wrap of the plant and boxed. Very quick delivery. If I live in North of England, I will pop round to visit garden centre in person.
