Green Geeks support is always there when I need it. Even when the problem is totally my fault, they help this non-tech person work through it!

They have excellent customer service, a well organized and intelligently designed website/control panel, and great sustainability oriented practices. Unlike other providers, there is a sense this company has a soul. Their on-boarding assistance process is the best I've seen. This is a great service for those using frameworks such as WordPress. I was looking for more a of a drag-and-drop web development tool to avoid heavy coding. While GG does have one option for that, it was not a good fit for me. For WordPress or custom built websites, GG is an excellent choice worth considering.

I was having trouble with my website - Wordpress plugins, updates & login issues. The support answered quickly and helped me sort it out. The support at Green Geeks is usually very prompt and effective.

GreenGeeks provides fantastic hosting.
The performance has been totally satisfactory and the web-based control panel is easy to use. Tech support has been great to work with. They are there in a jiffy and provide comprehensive and helpful answers. I have been impressed with their knowledge and guidance. I transitioned from BlueHost and these folks are really on the ball.

100% deceptive practices. They have been billing me $500 every year even after cancelling all services. Every year I contact their support who says do this one thing and then your services are canceled. This is a total scam. I canceled all services in 2023, but they billed me in 2024. Then I chat with their support who said there is "reseller subscription" that is being charged. I canceled that and now I have another invoice come in.

I compared the cost of registering a domain with Green Geeks VS other options out there (mentioned NameCheap, another company I use).
I wanted to keep everything under one roof. Since Green Geeks has been so good over the many years I've had hosting with them I wanted to have everything there. Hosting, Email, Domains, Privacy, Security, Backups, Files, Databases, WordPress, whatever else I can.
The "sales person" if you can call them that just got back to my inquiry saying "Nope" the price can't be discounted, the privacy add-on (WHOIS privacy) couldn't be free (like it is with NameCheap) and that there was no one I could talk to. No special promotions team, or manager or senior sales person. Nope.
Just one message back. Essentially, "Go F myself".
If you can, feel free to go back and look at our exchange. I gave that interaction 1 star as well.
The Green Geeks support team, over many years and many interactions, has been 5 star.
But this anti-sales sales person just made me so shocked and disgusted with their stone walling that I'm looking to transfer everything under one roof, but a different company's roof. Probably NameCheap.
Terrible salesmanship (a flaw in hiring, training, supervision? I don't know) has led to a multi-year customer moving to abandon everything instead of adding to their services.

Pay attention to the 1 star reviews! I was a huge fan of GreenGeeks because they seemed to be all about taking care of their customers and the environment (and as an environmentally active human this was important)...until you want to stop service or cancel your account. That's when the good in GreenGeeks turns bad. I followed GreenGeeks cancellation page instructions on copying anything you want to retain before canceling your account, and knowing I had until a certain date before it renewed made sure to get it all copied in time. The day before the payment was due GreenGeeks charged me, so I was quick to get on with a customer service rep to show I was charged a day early, and they walked me through disabling the auto renew and asking for a refund since I was charged a day early. I received confirmation of the request to cancel the hosting and ID protection and was told to wait for the refund email before continuing on the delete the account. 2 days later after the charge was not refunded and I inquired using the ticket conversation page as to why they told me I didn't request to cancel hosting...even though I have a screen shot of the customer service rep saying 'hosting' in his response. Unbelievable. Then these people kept telling me I had to go disable the auto renew even though I shared with them I had already done that and had proof from both the customer service rep and emails. They continued to insist I had to disable the account and said that GreenGeeks charges the day before the due date which was never mentioned by the original customer service rep. Before following the new customer service guy's instructions, I first checked my website, it was gone. So if I didn't already cancel the account, why is it gone? I went ahead and followed their links and instructions and once again disabled the auto renewal and received the EXACT same message as I got the first time that I had submitted a cancellation request, the day before the payment due date. This company may be great while you're paying them, but the moment you want to cancel and get a refund for being charged before the due date, they are awful. UPDATE: After several days of taking the time to stay on top of the issue and many back and forth messages talking to several different people, Greek Geeks did finally refund the annual fee minus what they said was the monthly charge. Because of this I have update to 3 stars.

I used Green Geeks for several years to host my clients web sites. I recently decided to scale back to prepare for retirement after 30 years doing web sites.
They were very affordable. Had great customer service.
I highly recommend them.

I honestly did not expect switching hosting to be this easy and stress‑free. The migration went perfectly, and the LiteSpeed Cache widget blew me away — once enabled, the site loads so fast. Transferring to GreenGeeks was absolutely the right move.

I moved to GreenGeeks after several years on a more expensive hosting provider, and the transition was refreshingly straightforward. The dashboard and cPanel setup made it easy to add multiple domains and get a new site live without friction. Their documentation around domains, email, and DNS was clear enough that I solved most issues on my own, and when I did reach out, support responded quickly and helped me unblock things without back-and-forth.
Performance and uptime have been solid for my small set of sites—no hiccups or slowdowns so far. I also genuinely like the sustainability focus; it’s a nice bonus knowing the hosting aligns with greener practices. Overall, it’s been a smooth upgrade from an older shared/reseller setup, with modern tools, fair pricing, and support that actually helps when you need it.

I am blown away by the customer support from GreenGeeks. As an old fart new to hosting and website building, and WordPress, I have reached out several times in the first few days after signing up. I even had to have someone help me get signed up and registered. Every single time I had any issues, I got an immediate response from a friendly and patient individual with the right information to help me. I can't imagine there's another company out there with this level of customer service. I highly recommend GreenGeeks for your hosting services.

I chose GreenGeeks for a new content site project where my priorities were risk minimization, cost control, and technical sufficiency, rather than over-engineering from the outset.
So far, the experience has been solid.
What I like:
- Clear onboarding and well-structured emails
- cPanel access is straightforward and familiar
- Hosting feels more than sufficient for a Year 1–2 content site
- Pricing makes sense if you’re building a serious project, but want to stay economical
- The “eco” positioning is a nice bonus, though not my main decision factor
Overall, GreenGeeks feels like a professional, no-nonsense hosting provider for builders who know what they’re doing or are willing to follow instructions carefully. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable, which is exactly what I wanted at this stage.
I’d recommend it for:
- Content sites
- Blogs
- Early-stage business websites
Anyone who values stability over hype.
